Each thread in the Pending list is for the use of its creator and the Council. Do not post otherwise without permission.
It is not the Council's job to write your character for you. The Original Character Council’s primary function is to assess your character’s place in the canon. We are here to assist you, but the ideas that you present in your character’s development must be your own.
Include everything about your Original Character in your profile. This includes but is not limited to any weapons, tools, gadgets and/or magical abilities. We need to know everything about your character as they enter our world so we can accurately assess if they're ready.
Limit your profile to one Character per thread.
When posting your Original Character's profile to the Pending list, a new Maelstrom account for that character is required
Link your OC's profile page in the "Web Site URL" portion of your Maelstrom account
Ensure that any coding you intend to use is functional via the preview button. Additionally, adhere to our formatting standards by making use of our provided template
Any Original Character’s relationships to a pre-existing character will be redirected by a council member to the character in question to ensure it fits with their story.
Victus, the Original Character Council, and the Admin team are all busy individuals. Do not badger them about checking your character. This includes bumping your own thread. However, if you need help in the creation process, feel free to contact Victus or Talon directly.
Each role player on Maelstrom is limited to five co-existing Original Characters.

Death is permanent and considered one of a few ways to remove your character from the canon as well as from your limit of five Original Characters. Regardless of how you intend to remove a character, it must be done actively and not passively, either through a thread, a canon story in the story center or another similar method. Removing or retiring a character from the canon is final. It cannot be undone under any circumstances.
Please realize this is an RP environment and not the game. Stating that you do damage but not in what way you have done so is not enough. We need to know how you’re doing damage, inflicting a crowd control effect or otherwise altering another character’s state of being. Numerical damage to someone’s health is not sufficient, as we do not have health points to remove. For what does require a numerical description, like cool downs, ranges, and durations, use real world units.
Original Characters are inherently weaker than Champions in most fields. Take this into account when creating your character and do not recreate previously existing characters, either from within the League universe or beyond.
No instant kill or automatic hit moves. The rules of the physical world still apply, even with magic present in our canon. All characters must have a reasonable degree of interaction with their surrounding characters to remain fair and engaging.
Magical abilities require formal training. It is not genetic or inborn. It is possible to have talent with magic but it is not possible to be born knowing how to cast specific spells. Reflect an appropriate age for the level of skill your character possesses. Regardless of what form it takes, it requires years of research and training to effectively use even one school of magic.
Weapons do not discriminate. Your allies can be struck by your skills, abilities and attacks just as your enemies can be healed and shielded by associated effects. Projectiles can be intercepted by both walls and bodies.
If there is no clearly defined religion for where you are from in Riot canon or listed in our forum, avoid it. There are three defined religions that exist in Runeterra, the Solari, the Lunari, and the Cult of the Spider God. Other religions can exist but it must be understood that they would have very minor amounts of influence on the world and minimal size.
