Taric shifted his war hammer on his shoulder, adjusting it slightly as he replied.
"I can see why. I too would be unnerved if the Death Singer senses something like that about myself. Let us hope that whatever he senses doesn't come to pass."
Taric looked in the direction of the hum and then back at Skarner, considering his offer for a moment. He then nodded at Skarner with a gentle smile.
"I will follow Skarner. You have shown me much, it would be a disservice to turn back now."

"So be it. Stay beside my stinger and watch your footing. Should you fall behind me, I cannot guarantee your survival." Skarner said.
He then rotated eastward. After a few clicks of his pincers, Skarner started stabbing the earth with his pincers and creating a hole with a gentle down-slope. when the hole grew large enough to fit the brackern, his tail lit up and began emitting a beam of energy towards the ceiling of the newly formed tunnel, creating a cyan colored crystal ceiling. The crystals themselves appeared to be disintegrating as the beam left the area, a mechanism to seal the tunnel behind them while ensuring the tunnel didn't collapse while they were underneath.

"What would you expect from my kind?" Skarner said, without expecting an answer.
He continued on for almost an hour without starting conversation. He just continued downward.
Finally, Skarner stopped. He carefully cut at the rock and dirt in front of him with his pincers while his tail maintained the ceiling over them, exposing a crystalline wall at first and as Skarner exposed more wall, he found the edge of a entryway past the wall and into the structure.
The entryway was clearly Brackern sized, as it was a 12 foot tall semicircle. Beyond it was darkness.
Skarner entered murmuring something under his breath in a foreign tongue. To Taric, it might sound reverent.

"<Mother of all, a child has returned to the womb seeking your wisdom. Light the way forward for this one of the Vale. Let my Soul resonate with yours.>"
Slowly the darkness began to fade, revealing a crystalline series of tunnels and passages.
"Welcome to the home of the Brackern, human. Let us see what has changed." Skarner said a bit more loudly.
Privately, he was concerned. The Hive was brightening as he was told it would, but not at the rate his Arachia remembered. It seemed weaker. Troubling news.

Continued alongside Skarner in companionable silence as they traveled. When Skarner revealed the entryway a look of amazement. To think that a structure like this laid underground and untouched for so long. He watched Skarner and decided not to disturb him, noting the reverence in his voice and language. The only movement he made while he waited was to shift his equipment every now and then.

"<Mother, why is our home so dark? Where is your light? Is the Sickness truly affecting you that deeply?>" Skarner muttered to himself, skittering in the dim tunnels of his home. Skarner was nearing what appeared to be the Hive's center. The tunnels ceased to brighten beyond that of a dying candle. Upon this realization Skarner was visibly distressed, examining each wall for clues and disappointed in his lack of answers.
"This is not the Hive as it should be. Be wary. I do not know if we are safe here." Skarner said finally. "Any number of beasts could have moved in. There may be areas of magical corruption."
Skarner neared a final bend in the tunnel and stopped.
"Something is wrong. I do not know what it is...but it is close. This is not how the Vanguard should show his home to an outsider. I apologize, human. One day, you may be able to see this place as it was. Now, we must find the cause of this pain and see if we can end it. Are you ready, Taric?"
