In the repair shop in the middle of Bandle City, a somewhat young yordle woman is working on a small mechanical box. Right next to her, is another, identical looking box, Mexxie, the original version. The reason Jaslene was creating another one, was because she knew that the person she was going to meet had a bit of a temper and could possibly break Mexxie when he figured out he'd been tricked, so she created a copy of her invention.
After seemingly finishing the box, she looks at the switches on the side she had installed. Yes, everything seemed to be in order. Now... to test if she had got everything right. She starts setting up a sequence with the switches, one that she's done so many times before, to test if the cogs and gears inside were in the order they were supposed to be.
After setting up, she presses a small button on the top of the box in one of it's corners, the lid opening and a pair of mechanical hands rising up from the box. The hands start performing a sequence of motions and movements the switches had set up, but at the end one of the hands suddenly jerks to the side and starts to make erratic motions.
Sighing, Jaslene presses the small "abort" button on the side of the box, the hands quickly moving back inside. It would seem the copy would require some more work before it was ready for it's field day. She wouldn't want to have her invention accidentally hurt her idol, now would she?

((asdfghjkl; why is it so hard to come up with an intro post in here T~T))
If Jaslene thought that Rumble would be at his workshop today, she was wrong.
Rumble had spent all of last week setting up the Void detection system (hence the lack of posts qq), and today was his official break day. He had securely (cough cough) locked up his workshop and taped a sign to his front door. The sign said this:
Anyways, Rumble was lying against a small cliff face at the beach. He wasn't wearing his usual work outfit because it was hot as hell outside. Instead, he was wearing a white T-shirt and some blue shorts.
Wow, he really sucks at fashion too.
A book was lying on top of Rumble's lap, but he wasn't reading it. Actually, Rumble was snoring, and he presumably fell asleep probably because the book was boring as hell. It didn't look like Rumble was gonna wake up anytime soon though.
Jaslene continues to work on making sure that the Mexxie-copy works properly and after about twenty minutes of slight adjustments to a few gears she figures out what's wrong and has the mechanics working properly. She then stands up, pulling up her safety goggles and placing her tools back in the toolbox, except for the wrench that she places in the pocket on the front of her overalls. She starts making her way towards the junkyard where she thought Rumble was at.
When she reaches the junkyard, only carrying the copy box and the wrench in her front pocket, she looks over the junkyard with a grin. This would be fun... and then there was the sign. Rumble was not home? What would she do now? Wait.... more text on the sign. At the beach... only if urgent needs... uhh, yeah, sure, urgent. Giggling she turns around and starts heading towards the beach with a smile on her face. Hopefully her idol would like the box, and if he didn't and his temper took over... it is just a copy of the real thing.
When she reaches the beach, she looks around. It's mostly empty, except for a single figure. Rumble, leaning against the cliff and snoring. How adorable... she could just pick him up and hug him tight! But no... there was something else she wanted to do. She sits down next to Rumble and starts to set up a sequence on the copy-box with the switches on it with a clear plan.
After the set-up was complete, she places the box next to Rumble and presses the button on top while she moves to the side a good distance and sits down against the cliff, looking over to Rumble and the box. The hands in the box slowly rise up and move to Rumble, one of them patting his cheek while the other one slowly went through the champion's hair, as if the box was taking care of a child. All the motions were somewhat clumsy and mechanical, but that was to be expected from a machine, especially a crude copy of the real thing...

As soon as the machine started caressing Rumble's moehawk, Rumble immediately sighed and curled up, which actually looked pretty adorable. The machine continued to pet the mechanic and Rumble continued to sleep, until one of the hands suddenly poked him in the eye.
Rumble yawned and woke up as he lazily lifted up his eyes. The next thing he saw was the robotic hands extremely close up, which actually looked scary as hell to the mechanic.
Rumble yelped and dashed backwards so fast he nearly broke the sound barrier.
The mechanic stared at Jaslene's machine box for quite a while, until he grumbled and stood up. Rumble paid no further heed to the box as he moved to a different location on the beach. He walked behind a large rock and laid down, resting his back against the rock. Rumble then closed his eyes again, attempting to regain his rest back.
Jaslene laughs a bit at Rumble's reactions, amused by how adorable the grumpy mechanic gets in his sleep. When Rumble walks over to a different spot to try and rest again, Jaslene stands up and walks over to the box, still making the movements despite no one being there. She presses the reset button on the side and with a couple of clanks the arms retreat back inside the box.
She lifts the box and walks over to where Rumble is, sitting down close to him and starting to set up another sequence for the box, this one meant to be more for a show for her idol than "grooming" like last time.

Though Rumble had closed his eyes, he didn't actually fall asleep yet. He could hear Jaslene's footsteps approach, so he decided to catch the culprit should she try to use the box on Rumble again. When Rumble heard Jaslene's loud tinkering with the buttons and switches on the box, Rumble batted one eye open and spoke.
"Y'know, if ya plan to use yer cuddle machine on me again, ya might wanna think twice before you do."
Jaslene turns to look at Rumble, her look turning annoyed instead of the excited one she had before.
"Cuddle machine?! Continue at that kinda talk Rumble and you get a wrench to the head, even though I am a fan of yours! And believe me, I know how to make a wrench hurt.
For your knowledge this is a delicate piece of machinery, which I use to help me do two-yordle jobs alone. I could've just as easily had it punch you in the groin to wake you up you know."
She returns into setting up the sequence, continuing to look a bit annoyed at the near-insulting wording from Rumble.

Rumble rolls his eyes and scoffs, ignoring Jaslene's threats. He's gotten injuries way worse than getting hit by a wrench or getting punched in the groin. "Yeah yeah, whatever. That thing's a cuddle machine t'me until I see it do something better."
Rumble groans and leans on top of the rock, belly-side first. "Ugh, today was supposed t'be my break day, why can't I catch a break..."
Jaslene presses the reset button again and starts to set up another sequence. After setting up for a moment, she places an array of parts on the sand in Rumble's view in a pattern and returns to finishing the sequence.
A moment later, she places the box in front of Rumble as well and in front of the assorted parts.
"Better huh? Is this better, "idol"?"
She presses the button on top of the box and steps back, the mechanical hands rising up and starting to pick up parts and to assemble something. They work tirelessly, yet a bit clumsily, but Jaslene's knowledge of the motions makes it possible for her to make the hands able to pick up the parts in the correct order and place them together perfectly, even screwing in the bolts.
After a while, one of the hands moves in front of Rumble, an open palm up while the other places a finished clockwork squirrel in the open palm.
"When you know how to work the dozen switches, this thing is like having a second pair of hands with you always."
She smiles and looks at Rumble with an excited look, giggling a bit while she waits for the champion's reaction.

Rumble took the squirrel in his hands and examined it carefully. The machinery was certainly impressive, but it wasn't absolutely perfect. Rumble sighed and pointed at a flaw as he handed the squirrel back to Jaslene.
"The left ear is screwed on backwards."
He looked at Jaslene with a bored expression for a few more seconds, but then he smiled and laughed humorously.
"'Course, that doesn't mean your machine is bad. I think it's quite impressive, really. Now I know your machine can build and cuddle," he chuckled. Rumble then turned away from Jaslene and leaned against the rock again.
"Now let me be, because today's my only day off and I don't plan to waste it."
Jaslene blushes a bit at Rumble's words, nodding. She places the box next to Rumble and takes a step back.
"Fine... I'll just go and take a dip in the water and get out of your face Rumble. You can keep the machine, it's... a bit of a rushed version, that's why the ear messed up. I kinda made a copy of the finished version, knowing that you have a bit of a... temperament. Hehe..."
She then jogs on over to the shoreline and gets out of her mechanic's outfit, getting down to her underwear and then hopping into the water and starting to swim around in the waves of the sea.

Rumble looked at the box for a few seconds before turning away. Maybe he'd take the box home, but he'd disassemble it for extra parts. Rumble was a very resourceful mechanic, after all.
Rumble sighed and closed his eyes again, not paying any more attention to Jaslene. He hoped she would leave soon and let him take his break for the rest of the day, since a break was what the mechanic needed most right now.
After swimming for about ten minutes, Jaslene gets back out of the water and puts her mechanic's clothes on, not seeming to care about getting a bit of water on them. She then checks that she has everything that she came there with her, including the squirrel the copy-box had created. She would have to fix the ear when she gets home.
She merely nods at Rumble, not expecting him to even notice though, as she walks by and out from the beach. Could've been a lot smoother...

The mechanic appeared to be sleeping against the rock when Jaslene walked out of the water. However, when Jaslene passed by the rock, Rumble suddenly spoke, though he didn't make any movements. His eyes were still closed and he didn't turn to face Jaslene.
"Y'know, if you really want to talk, then you can come by tomorrow at the junkyard during my lunch break. Just throwin' out an offer there."
After Rumble finished speaking, he focused back on getting his rest. He'd wake up later and go to the hills to view the sky when the night came.
Jaslene stops when she hears Rumble talking to her, turning to look at the resting mechanic. Meet with him for a talk? In his workshop?! That... that would be almost like a dream come true for her. Smiling, she walks on off from the beach and heads back home to her family's repair shop.
When she reaches home, she shouts happily.
"I'm home! Did I miss anything?!"
A gruff voice, her father's voice, answers back.
"You missed a bit of work Jazz, mind catchin' up on it? I've got a few things to fix here so I could use your help."
"Sure dad, let me just get my tools and Mexxie."
She walks on over to her corner of the repair shop, with her toolbox and her invention, Mexxie. She picks up the tools and looks through the list of work she'd missed. Clockwork toy repair, fixing a cart, yada yada yada. The usual it seemed...
