Loras dropped his hoverboard, causing it to float about two feet off the ground. He then sat back on it, using his legs to 'paddle' over to the Inventor's desk, looking down at the yordle.
"I need something to stop this from turning into a flying furnace after 10 minutes of flying. The current coolant system I have installed in apparently faulty and I don't have the parts for another."
Rin chuckled as her boss waddled to and fro to get cleaned up. Upon his return and listening to Loras's request, Rin's ears perked once more.
"Uhm.. Heim, may I handle this?" She turned to Loras.
"I actually had the same issue with my glider. It would overheat and cause internal damage from the mana core causing flames. You probably just need to exhaust the heat better, or propel it to a better use.. here, let me see..."
Rin held her small hands out, smiling up at the tall human.

Loras taps the hoverboard once before quickly hopping off, the vehicle floating down to Rin's level. He'd then return the smile, giving the yordle a thumbs up. "Loras Hawkins. You may have heard of me."
Rin bowed her head in an apologetic manner before continuing, "I am terribly sorry, I stay locked up in my shop far too often. I haven't heard of your name before. Please forgive me! What are you known for?"
As she began to converse with Loras, her eyes danced over the equipment, her mind plotting out the blueprints in her head. She began to poke and prod, looking for compartments and the likes, accustoming herself with the interesting little hover board in her hand.

Heimerdinger packed a few things and then headed towards the door. "Well, Rin. It looks like you've got everything under control. Some paperwork awaits for me at the academy, so I'll be there if you need me!" Heimerdinger waved the both of them goodbye and then scurried out the door.

Loras' expression visibly drops at Rin's comment, causing him to place a hand on the back of his neck and laugh sheepishly. "Techmaturgic prodigy, nearly died to a Kumungu virus... nothing?" Most people at least recognized his face, but not knowing him at all was something new to him.
As Rin started examining Ambition, Loras would dig into his pocket, pulling out a small, folded piece of paper. "I've got the schematics for it, if you need them."
Rin's ears perked slightly, all though her gaze didn't move from the board. She started mumbling to herself "Loras... Disease... child proDOGY OH RIGHT YOU WERE THAT KID THEY DIDN'T RELEASE YOUR NAME AND I HAD JUST MOVED HERE AND"
Rin nearly dropped the board as the realization donned on her. She caught the hovering object with her tail, however, and quickly composed herself.
"Terribly sorry! Like I said, I live under a rock. Well, technically, I had just moved here when all that happened. I was a bit busy, but I remember the article in the paper. I never heard anything else after that! Good to see you are okay, though!"
Her eyes toggled to the paper, then back to the board "I think I've got most of it down, actually. That there is the intake, you probably have a mana core in here that helps lock in... the power you give it? I assume you can power it yourself?"
Rin set Ambition down carefully, taking the paper and smiling.
"Awesome, I was right! Though, I had no idea.. your uhm.. watchy thingie, does that help it too?"

"Ah well... was a while ago anyway..."
Loras nearly cringes when Rin narrowly catches Ambition, making a note to himself to install an auto-pilot. He stands behind the yordle as she examines the board and paper, putting his hands into his pockets in a casual manner. "I wouldn't call it a mana core, exactly, but yeah, I do power it."
Loras would remove his left hand again when Rin asked about the watch. "What, this thing? I can be a remote control if I need it to be, but otherwise no."
"Hm, interesting. Ah, you must use a different capacitor then. I've been using mana cores since they are cheap. It's great for storing aetheric energy, and you can reverse the polarity to make a battery out of them! Dunno if I'd work for larger entities, but for small things like my glider and your hover board, it should do nice."
Rin flipped her hair back, setting the paper down on Heimer's desk and pulling out one of her own blue prints.
"Just from looking, it looks like your issue lies in the... whatever kind of core you are using to store energy. I don't think it's expelling enough. Your electricity is...." Her eyes darted to his shoulder pad, sparking with energy, and back to the paper "well, potent. That is quiet obvious. I think you might just be overloading it. The polarity system with the mana cores I have should be able to pull in and expel the energy properly, while keeping your board cool enough to function. Granted, we might have to build in an exhaust pipe of sorts... or, if you have other ideas of what to do with the newly discharged electricity that you feed it?"

"The thing is, I don't exactly use mana." Loras raised a hand and wiggled his fingers, creating a small burst of lightning. "This? Genetic ability. I've tried not pumping so much energy into the core, but that never seems to work out well. Nearly shut off while I was flying once."
The young inventor would scratch his chin at the notion of another function for Ambition, a few ideas racing through his mind. "Hrn... turbo boost? Magnetic shields? Or how about..." Loras continued rambling on, mostly to himself, while he tried to settle on an idea.
"Er, sorry, I know it's called a mana core, but its different. It's for containing aetheric materials... magic. Magic in its stored position, no matter what it is, in its basic form, is mana. When you add then its elements to the base atom of mana... you create the magic!"
Rin giggled and smiled up at Loras. She hopped unusually high up to sit cross legged on the desk to better be eye-to-eye with the young human boy.
"Y'see, the mana cores I use are just storage for magic. Your electricity is an element, which, in term, can be a magic. It is an element, and its base form can be broken down into mana. The discharge from it can then be produced out into something else. Example, for my glider, the expulsion is actually just the force, or the aether, without an element. I use it to create the rest of the wing for my glider, and also for a forceful 'push'."
"Granted, we'd have to do something different for yours. The mana intake I get from the aetheric levels in the air is VERY simple compared to the amount your electricity would give out. We could probably do a turbo boost? But we'd still have too much left over. You'd probably fry yourself with said turbo boost... or knock yourself out." Rin too began mumbling on with him, exchanging idea after idea, before snapping her fingers.
"Shields! Depending how much you feed it, you could get one hell of a shield out of it, and anything left over could ALSO be a boost! A good reflection of both. AND for an added protection, we can add grounding containers to help discharge the excess electricity, making sure you don't blow yourself up! What say you, sir?"

"I say lets get to it."
Loras stuffed his hands into his pockets, pulling out a number of tools, nuts, screws, and the like. He quickly began working on the board, the old core he was using and all circuitry accompanying it tossed to the side.
Rin scurried for parts herself, disappearing behind piles of tools and hidden walls within Heimer's shop. After a good 20 minutes of digging, she came back out with an assortment of parts.
"Not sure we'll need all this, but hopefully Heimy won't mind.." She flashed a sheepish grin to Loras. "Hehehehehe..."
She started handing parts up to Loras, pointing now and again where she thought one item or another would work better. Though, she was sure he got the point of what they were trying to do. She compared different cores, some different fiber optics for the wiring, and even began juggling a core with her foot before kicking it off into the distance with a loud clank.

After roughly half an hour of continued tinkering with Ambition, Loras finally sealed it shut again, swiping a few beads of sweat from his brow. Assorted parts lay around him in a sort of organized chaos, with the hoverboard floating interdependently in the center of it. Raising his watch to check something, the boy spoke.
"Man, time flies when you're building. But I think this is gonna be worth it." Jumping onto the board, Loras glided around for a bit before beginning to do loops in the air, careful not to crash into the ceiling. After a few more minutes of this, he lowered back to the ground in front of the yordle. "Thanks for all the help with this, Rin."
"No problem at all!" Rin also brushed sweat from her brow, taking a large towel and wiping the oil and debris off her hands. After a bit of silence, a slow smile creeped across her face. She looked up in the most demonic way.
