He laughed a bit more visibly this time, the prolonged name breaking his resistance. But at least he wasn't drinking anything, letting his short, simple laugh get out without a hitch. He could feel her heat up a bit, but didn't try to make her more embarassed.
Jay smiled knowingly as she mentioned her lack of monogamy. "Ah, yea. It's not for everyone. I-I...I'm a bit iffy on the subject. It'd certainly be easier to keep track of one girlfriend." He chuckled slightly, but was inwardly nervous. Was she...flirting with him? Probably not.
When she showed him the rope weave, he nodded appreciatively. "I think it looks really cool. All experimental-y, and...uh...weave-y." He wasn't really good with ropework or fashion, so he was at a loss for words. "How do you do it?"
"Heh, tell me about it~ some of mine are certainly time-consuming." It was a small, simple way to come out, if he noticed it. Flirting was- certainly a nebulous thing, at times. "So- well, no worries; I'll play things by ear." She leans in a little to clarify, though doesn't get closer than comfortable.
"This is one of the first things I learned; it's meant to look like a bracer, though, fairly obviously, it's got no armor value." From her bag, she pulls out a five-foot piece and folds it in half. "Uh-so you loop it like this-" Deftly, she pulls the looped half over the top of her wrist, and pulls the two ends through. "-and you repeat the pattern by pulling the ends up and through, the same direction the loop came from. Keep doing that until the rope runs out, and..."
She knots it closed at her elbow, and holds it out for further examination.

With Rose
Jay nodded thoughtfully, breaking his gaze. "Yea...yea, play by ear. Sounds good. Not that I'd really mind." He sipped his hot chocolate, still trying to get his head around the situation. "No girlfriend at the moment, especially a protective one. I wouldn't mind hanging out or anything more."
When she demonstrated the weaving, he watched intently, following the rope with his eyes carefully. When she knotted it, he admired the handiwork. "No armor value? Still better than bare skin. And it looks great." He thought. "Maybe I should try something more interesting myself. Mind if I...?" He gestured to the rope she'd just tied, wanting to try wrapping the bracer himself.
With Marcy
When Jay was kissed by Marcy, he simply smiled down at her, returning the kiss. When he was done, he closed the door behind them, getting ready for the long night ahead.
((Uh, chess. Right, we're playing chess. It's a fun game, y'know. No need to bore you on the details, anyhow.))
The next morning, Jay would wake up drearily, his arm draped over Marcy. "Mm...good morning, Marcy."
Sometimes, when you've been stuck alone for long enough, you just have to break out into reality, with no regard for what position it may put you in. It is better to try and fail than to never try.
Marcy twitched next to him in bed. "Hmh?" she asked, barley being able to see the difference between a door and a chair, that's how tired she was. She managed to open her eyes a bit more, as she looked at Jay a tired smile crept up on her face. "Morning, love."

"Oh-? Sure." She unravels it with a tug at the knot and a pull at the largest loop, then passes the rope over. It's still warm from her skin, though hopefully not unpleasantly so. "If you need help, let me know- I've never done it for someone else, but it should be simple enough.
"Anyway," she adds with a laugh, "there's a difference between possessive and protective, trust me." Her eyes gaze off into memory for a moment before she returns, watching his attempt at a bracer.

With Rose
Jay took the rope and began wrapping it around himself, trying to replicate what Rose had done. "Lesse, loop it like this...pull the ends together...uh, think I may be doing it wrong." He raised his hand up, the rope a hopeless mess entangled around his arm. While the heat wasn't unpleasant, they were a bit tight, and chafed a bit against him. "C-can you...uh, y'know...help?" He blushed meekly.
While she'd help him untangle, he'd sigh. "Man, I'm just a klutz. Should've guessed this'd happen since that time I had to find work in a rope factory." He gave a small chuckle. "But really, thanks for putting up with me. Most girls I've talked with usually...uh, yea." He clammed up, not wanting to bring up that stuff.
With Marcy
Jay smiled back at Marcy. "Morning yourself. Sleep well?" He cuddled up against her, rather half-asleep himself, and put his arm around her closer, pulling her to him slightly.

"A rope factory-? Heh, I would've abused the hell out of that employee discount." Sonder grins before noticing the tangles he's managed to make with the rope, and scoots her chair forward to help. "You're nice enough, at any rate; it's Draven that I, ah, 'put up with'. Anyway, hold still..."
She bends over his arm, biting her lip a little as she unknots his work. It takes a few minutes, but when it's done, she smiles. "Done. Want me to make the bracer, then~?" Ropework is something she's always enjoyed, so it's hardly an annoying task.
Marcy stretched her arms into the air, "Mhm." She nodded, "But I can probably sleep for a few more hours." she said and curled up against him. "Wake me in an hour or something." She was obviously still very tired, it was something that happened when she had gotten little sleep the night before accompanied by nightmares.

With Rose
Jay nodded. "Yea, yea, have at it." He extended his arm in front of her. "So, you see Draven often? He's a bit self absorbed, but still...high up on the ladder." He thought for a moment, staying still for her to do the work.
With Marcy
Jay nodded. "Alright. Sleep well. But," he said, getting out of bed and putting on his pants, "if you need to talk, just...just know I'm willing to. Talk, that is." He went out and sat at his desk, working on the cube. He knew about her night terrors; he just hoped she'd share them with him soon.

"Well- the first time I met him was when he showed up at my apartment, completely out of the blue." Sonder grins, remembering the absurdity of it- a champion showing up at her apartment, and having heard of her? "I was nervous at first, thinking I'd done something illegal, but it turned out he just wanted me to spread some info about the Butchering; stir up some local interest and all that."
Her hands are quick and deft with the rope as she weaves it in loops around his forearm. "Second time was at that party- turns out, one of my doppelgangers was seen at Riven's little speech." She smirks. "I asked if he could, similarly, spread a little information about my good standing with him. Y'know- who hangs out near Draven that wants to tear down the Grand General? No-one smart. But anyway... he suggested axing her, and I don't know who she is, so no go there."
A half-hearted shrug punctuates her feelings on the matter as she knots the thing. "I don't know him well, but I'm sure I could if I wanted to. Draven is nothing if not a ladies' man~"
Jay nodded. "Alright. Sleep well. But," he said, getting out of bed and putting on his pants, "if you need to talk, just...just know I'm willing to. Talk, that is." He went out and sat at his desk, working on the cube. He knew about her night terrors; he just hoped she'd share them with him soon.
Marcy woke up two hours later, she stretched her arms and legs before sitting up in his bed. She yawned and put on her clothes, scratching her head as she walked into the kitchen then into his work area, "Morning, love." She said and leaned against the door frame.

With Rose
Jay nodded and listened intently to Rose's story, watching her tie the bracer carefully. When it was done, he gave her an appreciative smile. "Wow. Nicely done, thank you." He then thought over the story. "Draven is quite the character. Even as a summoner, I never really actually met many champions. None I would've liked to, at least."
With Marcy
Jay looked over his shoulder at her. "Oh, hey Marcy. Morning." He got up and stretched, going over to hug her tightly. "Did you...sleep better? 'cause I got a lot of extra work done on the Cube. I could bother to take a break; I'm far enough head." He gave her a cheerful smile.
Sometimes, when you've been stuck alone for long enough, you just have to break out into reality, with no regard for what position it may put you in. It is better to try and fail than to never try.
Marcy smiled as he hugged her, she put her arms around him and looked him in the eyes as he spoke. "Yeah, I slept a lot better." she replied. "I'm just going to take a shower, want to join?" she asked with a smirk as she broke the hug and moved to the bathroom.

"No problem~ it takes practice to learn." She takes out another bit of rope from her bag, and starts to loop it into a self-contained braid, perhaps leaving him to wonder how much rope she has with her. "And yeah, he's- interesting." There's only a small pause between the words. While she doesn't have much respect for the Executioner's flamboyance, his skill can't be denied, nor can his position.
"If you don't mind my asking, what's- er, what was work as a summoner like? I've heard some about it from my fathers, but not enough to really give me a picture."

With Rose
"Work as a summoner?" He sighed happily and smiled widely. "Man, it was the greatest. I mean, sure, a couple...and, I mean a lot...of the summoners were kind of jerks. But when you met a nice one, they were great! And I built stuff for the Institute, which was always really fun. Don't forget that I got to command champions in combat!" He made a couple of striking motions to emphasize his point in the air, but then looked at Rose and shrank back a bit, grinning sheepishly.
"But yea. I wasn't very good at the commanding part...I spent most of my time in artificing." He sighed. "You should've seen how long it took to convert Wriggle's Lantern from an artifact to a weapon. That one was a lot of fun. Oh, and don't forget Maw of Malmortius! That one was my idea. And ten other Summoners." He laughed. "And you cannot forget that they funded any research I performed. Before they stepped in, my gauntlet could do one thing; summon. Now, it's...well, this!"
He would continue to babble on about the League and his (mis)adventures within the walls, definitely excited by the subject, until he either ran out of breath or Rose stopped him.
With Marcy
He stood there for a moment. "Y'know...now that I think about it, I did kind of forget to take a shower. I'll join you. It'll be nice." He led her through the bedroom and near the bathroom, pausing for a moment. "Wait, hold on, I'll join you in a minute. I just thought of something."
He ducked out and made a couple of modifications to the Cube; a minute later, he dashed back in and pulled Marcy into the bathroom with him. "It's, uh...a bit small." Small was an understatement; without standing in the shower, which was admittedly sizable, he was pressed against Marcy closely to avoid being stabbed in the back by the cabinet's handles. "But I doubt that'll be a problem."
Sometimes, when you've been stuck alone for long enough, you just have to break out into reality, with no regard for what position it may put you in. It is better to try and fail than to never try.
Marcy smiled as he ran to do something then come back. She gave him a quick kiss, "I doubt that too~" she said and smirked. ((Ahem... More chess.))
After the shower Marcy sat down on his bed and got dressed again, looking around the room. Sighing briefly she walked out into the small kitchen and grabbed the blood vial she had brought and downed it. Smiling as she put away the vial, "Jay" She shouted from the kitchen, "Wanna go to Bilgewater?"
