Hecarim took a break from watching the Demacian ship from behind the king and carefully made his way beside Elise and noticed she had her attention focused on Azazel and Belle. He decided he would use their time before the negotiations officially began to converse with the Spider Queen, making his presence known he spoke to no one in particular, but Elise would pick up on who he was addressing.
"Strange, isn't it? How a human such as Belle remained on our home for as long as she did and is now returning to her prince thankful to be away from us monsters?"

Belle could hardly look at Azazel. A sense of growing unease filtered through her normally soft features as he spoke to her, causing chills to rush up her spine. Small fingers curled against the edge of the rail as her head bowed, allowing the worn cloak to conceal her face even more. Azazel didn't know about her knowledge of the situation, which made things all the more dicey for the young woman.
She dare not look up. Not out of fear, or shame, but to meet his gaze would surely give him more reason to prod at her. Hearing his last words caused her head to snap towards the Summoner with a slightly displeased look. "Azazel." She addressed him in soft tone, "You do not frighten me." Slowly the Noble straightened, the chains clinking and swaying as she did so, turning to face the man more fully. She was weak when first she came to the Isles, but it has given her a lot of strength being there. Before Azazel she stands with a look of perhaps mild defiance towards him, showing that she was in fact not afraid of him anymore.
Perhaps she had a plan of her own? Or simply she was confident in both the Prince and the King. A light smile spread across her lips to reinforce her point. Ever polite, and elegant.
Still, that sense of weariness lingered. She was concerned with the situation at hand. How would it go? Would things work out? Would it be sabotaged? So many doubts.. Still she placed her faith in TRK and Jarvan without question.

Elise heard Hecarim approach and remained still and relaxed outwardly. Hecarim scared her on a deep level. Not that she would ever admit it out loud. Even to herself she tried to convince herself that he just disturbed her but she wasn't very good at deceiving herself. She steeled herself and remained still while he moved up next to her.
She was surprised when he spoke to her. He had rarely given her any notice at all. She wasn't sure it was a good thing that he had taken the time to now. But what Hecarim said mirrored many of her own thoughts. In a quite voice she spoke while keeping her eyes on Azazel and Belle. "Strange isn't the word I would use Hecarim. It smells of deceit. That girl must have some magic that I can't see to have so swayed our king. Even Azazel is acting oddly around her. On the surface he says all the right things but something is off. I know it. There is no reason to give her back. We hold her and thus we can keep Jarven in check. He would not risk her death."
She continued to watch Belle and Azezel. She over heard the girl show some backbone for what she thought was the first time she had noticed since her arrival in SI. What was going on here? Things felt like they were just a hair off. Like she was a few moments out of time. Nothing major seemed to be different but tiny little things here and there didn't add up in her mind.
She continued to watch them trying to put the pieces together in her mind.
Azazel looks at the chained woman, the clinking of chains making him let out a sharp bark of laughter at her defiance, his cyan eyes lock onto hers as they flicker to become black as coals, "You should be." He looked away to glance at Hecarim and Elise, the spider woman intrigued him. Manipulating all those people to become food for the King's pet spider. How loyal was she? Would she be of use... He moved his gaze to Hecarim and frowned, the most loyal, almost to the point of being blind. Useless trash to be discarded when the time comes.
Azazel simply remained beside Belle, he doesn't look at her as he muttered under his breath, his attention seemed to be focused on the Demacian ship before them, "You're all nothing but puppets, dancing to my music." He then walked away from her and moved to be by himself until everything fell into place.

Hecarim had no particular thought about Elise, to him she was simply a sister on the isles that was not close enough to the king to see what was truly going on, as for Belle... he wished she would leave their island, her presence was only making his job harder by trying to keep the others in line with her stay there. But as long as she remained, he would continue to serve his king while attempting to show his brothers and sisters the situation the way he saw it.
The centaur was somewhat unsurprised at Elise's response, it was to be expected when he felt that only he and Thresh could truly see what Belle was doing to their king. She was making him FEEL and as the kind of the dead such feelings had to be removed, not because Hecarim felt they made him weak, if anything they made knowing how to deal with the living easier by knowing where to strike them emotionally.
It was the fact that the others would not come to this conclusion, they would see the king as weak and unfit to rule with development, and that was not true in the slightest.
"To be expected." Hecarim said coldly at first, then changing back to his normal tone of voice and continuing to speak. "You may think it is some form of magic she is using, but it is not. I can see very clearly the effect she has on the king, why Azazel is different around her and even why Thresh is seemingly obsessed with her. All you must do is watch closely."
Taking a moment to pause from his speech he swiftly raised his halberd in the direction of the Demacian ship. "Jarvan may be willing to do anything for her, but just as the king has his other generals and I for advising, Jarvan has his own as well. They will not let him simply submit to our demands even for their precious princess."

She was more then a little frustrated with Hecarim's words. What wasn't she seeing? Was she truly blind when it came to this situation? She wasn't a stupid. Far from it in fact. But the pieces of the puzzle didn't fall into place. It was like she was missing several pieces that everyone else had that kept her from seeing the picture. The fact that she seemed to be the only one that didn't see it didn't help her mood one little bit.
"But nor would Jarvan let them attack us for worry about his wife. This seems to be a great risk to take. The king isn't at his full power out here and the possibility of a trap...we put ourselves in a position to be destroyed in one well placed attack. If the meeting must be had it should be on the isles where we are strong. I am worried Hecarim. I cannot shake the feeling that we are being out maneuvered."
She noticed Azazel moving away from the young woman that was becoming more and more the person she hated more then any other. How much she wanted to simply toss her over the rail. She could say that she fell. No...there were to many eyes around. The last thing she wanted was to have the kings wrath fall upon her. But the thought made a small smile cross her face.
"You are right on one point though. I do need to watch closely." With those words Elise slowly and silently followed Azazel. She had been to lax in keeping on top of the goings on around her. It wasn't like her and the only excuse was her own wounded pride at being overlooked by the king in favor of a human and a half dragon creature. While it was impossible that he could find them more appealing then herself there had to be something that drew him to the other girls. It was no excuse for her to stay blind to everything else.
Azazel would hear the Spider Woman approach, her heels clicking upon the wooden floors giving her away. He doesn't look at her, simply watching the horizon as though he were on a simply cruise, completely ignoring the Demacian ship. He leaned upon the dark wooden rail, both hands placed against the wood to support himself, when he speaks his voice was cold, detached and emotionless, "Something you need, Elise?" He asked, he turns this time, cyan eyes boring into the spider queen, his face impassive not giving away his thoughts. He was somewhat cautious of her, she was a puppeteer like him. Making people move to the strings they pulled. Azazel refused to be a puppet, he would not allow her to toy with him if she tried.

After coming upon Azazel she stood next to him looking out at the ocean. She waited until he spoke, wanting to gather her thoughts and let him make the first move. "What do I want? I want many things Azazel. I want power. I want freedom to do as I choose. I want to be able to punish those who slight or hurt me." She knew that wasn't what Azazel had meant with his words but the answer she gave started the game without showing her hand to him or anyone who might be listening.
"Don't you think it is odd how everything has been turning out so badly since we took that girl?" She nodded her head in the direction of Belle. "Like they were one step ahead at all times?" After speaking she turned and faced him. Her face had a curious look on it but she was sure Azazel would know what she was implying.
This was the dangerous part. How would Azazel react to her bold accusation. She hoped he would see that she could have taken her claim to the king or any of the other champions. Instead she had taken it to him. It would at least make him curious she hoped.
"I don't find it odd at all." Azazel simply glanced over Elise's shoulder toward Hecarim, "These undead... 'champions' are set in their ways, not liking the sudden change. It's... Predictable, for something like this to happen when the great Ruined King begins to feel emotion." Under his hood he raised an eyebrow, he bowed his head slightly so that only his jaw was visible to the Spider Queen, "One step ahead at all times? What do you mean?" There had been no instances so far that they had been one step ahead, since the invasion the Isles had done nothing major upon the mainland. There was no one he told other than the prince... What did she know? Did she know?
Azazel simply smirked, there was no way she could know, "Dear Elise, once these talks are over, things will change. Trust me on that." Nothing but baseless assumptions.

Just as she had expected Azazel wasn't one to be tripped up so easily. Her spider senses were in overdrive and she knew Azazel was hiding a great many things but she had no proof. Or was she wrong? She didn't think so but there were so many on the Shadow Isles that could be the betrayer of there might even be many. Such was the way of Isles. Only the smart and strong survived.
"Oh, do you know something I don't? I am not certain how these talks will go. They are a terrible idea. To much could go wrong out here on this infernal floating death trap." Elise felt so exposed out here. Who had convinced there king that this was a good idea. Who indeed.
"Where is this blasted league ship. The suspense is grating on me. If it is a trap I would like to know it sooner and be able to do something about it.
"I know a great many things that you do not." Azazel bowed his head once more, long straight black strands of hair fell from the hood. A smile was upon his lips, "Trust me when I say this, dear Spider Queen, Once these talks are done. Many will decide where their loyalties truly lie. Be sure to pick the winning side." He looks up, his cyan eyes would meet with her blood crimson orbs, the cyan would slowly darken to become black as coal, "I would hate to see such a beauty die because of a silly decision." He smirked and lowered his gaze once more, the hood again obscuring his eyes only allowing his jaw to be visible.

She was shocked by his bluntness. Was it bravery or stupidity? She wouldn't have thought him stupid but...she had difficulty thinking him capable of a power to put him on the level of those fighting for dominance here and now. He was already on the kings side so why would he say such things unless his loyalty had shifted? She had known something was up but something of this magnitude? She hadn't thought such a thing was even possible. She knew she had the ability to at least have a chance at surviving the kings displeasure due to her unique undead status...but the others? Couldn't the king just wish them dead and it would be so? As she gazed into those cyan orbs she couldn't help but think that perhaps Azazel truly did have something up his sleeves. She gazed at him for long moments taking things in, seeing if he would flinch. As sad as the compliment was it was the most she had in some time. The mere thought of it made her blood boil. She wanted so desperately to rip her two rivals throats out.
"I should go to the king with my claim? Why wont I?"
"Who would he believe?" Azazel remained motionless, only his lips moving to a smirk, "The summoner who has stood by his side for years, the summoner who was part of those that razed Urtistan originally for the harvest to raise the champions? Or the jealous spider queen clamoring for affection, wanting to gain his favor by any means necessary, he knows we are both puppeteers. I just happen to be more believable." Azazel sighed, "Be warned Spider Queen, you do not want to play this game against me..."

Elise took in his words and hated that he may just be right. Her king had dismissed her words thus far so why would this be any different. Despite that she couldn't help but grin. It wasn't often that someone could play the game at her level. She let out a small laugh. "Well played. Well played indeed. But be warned. I only play with winners. If your plan blows up in your face I will watch while the flames consume you." She stretched out provocatively on the rail. "But if you are winning. Well, I always like winners."
Azazel would only breifly glance at the spider queen as she stretched upon the rail, he looked from Elise, to Belle and then to Hecarim, his eyes lingered upon the centaur for a few moments, "Just remember." He spoke to Elise while looking at Hecarim, "The winner is only decided once the players not with me, are erased." The Shadow of War would no doubt be able to tell something wasn't right at all...
