She nods. "Well- you're more lawful than I am, so, better not." It's marked with a smile- it's half-teasing, half-earnest, and she seems grateful for the response. While he does seem kind enough, he's still on the side of the General, and she doesn't know how much is safe to say.
During the description of her scars, she'd taken quite a few sips of coffee, and when she looks down, she finds it gone. "Well- unless we're getting dinner here, it looks like we could probably head back now. Here, feel."
Rose extends her hand across the table- and the difference is notable. Where previously she'd been warm, she was now almost painfully hot to the touch; it'd allow her more power than usual in her training.

Daichi would take her hand carefully but would recoil back on touch. His own skin was always noticeably colder, but hers. If she wanted to she could seriously burn someone just by grasping them and holding on.
"...That my dear is dangerous." He grinned with eagerness. "Let's find a nice quiet place to practice. If you can think of any place where there would be little collateral damage, I say we go there. I'm afraid I'm not terribly familiar with this area."
Some place with lots of concrete and no people. He gave it brief thought, maybe she had some place in mind already.

Rose smiles, and nods- there's an old lot where she and her mother used to practice, not too far from here. "I've been known to be dangerous~" She laughs, and nods at the gate of the cafe's patio, ready to lead him away. "Used to practice in an old lot; concrete and metal on all sides, and no-one goes there, save to write graffiti on the walls."
As they walk, she starts to question him on the theory of magic- how to channel things, and how projectile magic works as opposed to simply summoning flame. She seems to learn quickly enough, though they'll see how things go as she's trained.

Daichi would leave enough to cover the bill and then some as he stood and began to follows her. "Well, I'll certainly keep it in mind." He thought of the possibility of cooling his body to an extreme temperature and causing bodily harm through that means. He supposed it wouldn't be hard considering his body's temperature adapted and lowered already he thought he should be careful when attempting it. There was no need to die so needlessly.
As she questioned, he was able to successfully answer. Projectiles were simply a matter of being able to channel and exert your own will over what you created. It came naturally as breathing in time. Though becoming a master was by no means easy.
Upon their arrival he smiled and nodded with approval. "This will do excellently." He entered and looked around. "First things first. I want you to show me what you know and what you can do."

Sonder pauses before nodding hesitantly, and brings a stream of sparks rushing up from the skin on her wrists and over her hands, letting them fall to the ground. "That's one of the things I know- it's the first spell I learned, ah- and then there's this one."
A soft foom sounds as she summons a flame in her left hand, before splitting it up and passing half of it to her right, letting them grow until they're equal in size. "I can sometimes use this as a projectile, but not all the time?" She seems embarrassed. "Usually, I can."
Stage fright prevents her the first time, but the second time, she manages to toss it to the wall, where it bursts as soon as she steps back. "I can keep the flames going if I'm relatively close to what's on fire," Sonder explains simply, then nods. "...That's it."

Daichi nodded and then moved to her side before he spread his legs back and began to focus. "Every mage relies upon a mana pool or some form of energy to manipulate. Call it whatever you want, there's always something to be used. I want you to focus upon that, grabbing what your burning to conjure this energy." Daichi's body began to manifest a visible coldness, a mist seeping from his person and dissipating.
"It should be easy, you're already hot to the touch. Just grab on to it and try to make it manifest." He thought about his next words carefully. "Now think about what you want to do with it. These things take time but it's all about your force of will and how you want to manipulate what you have an affinity for. I want to form and form ice away and at something." Daichi immediately fired a ball of ice from a hand almost instantly. It launched it outwards. It struck the wall and shattered. The shards of ice hit the ground and almost immediately began to dissipate.
"These things take time to work out but the very first thing you want to master is how to actually reach into the energy your using. After that its a matter of how you want to manipulate it. Take your time, you're learning."

Sonder shivers just a little as she feels the mist coming off of him, and nods. The heat around her starts to channel down into her hand, until fire forms in it- at first, it looks no different from her second spell, but she hesitates for just a moment before throwing it to the wall. It acts just as it had before, disappearing as she steps back. "I've found that, ah, that spell requires me to be within a certain distance of it," she says. "But... if I can do something else..."
A few deep breaths seem to draw in the heat from around her, bringing her temperature down to nearly normal- and she spins, tearing her hand through the air in a vicious arc. Fire streams forward from her arm, and shoots forward- but she sits on the concrete as soon as it vanishes, the cold, grainy surface comforting her skin as heat rises again, so quickly as to be almost unbearably painful.
"I- I don't think I can do that again without something to restore my mana," she says quietly, "but... was that what we were aiming for here?"
((And with that, she's learned her E~ her Q and W are both up to their fourth level in damage and mana costs, but E will be on its first level until she does a lot more practice, meaning that she's going to need a mana pot or two before they proceed. =P))

He nodded and then drew a mana potion from his person. He always carried one on hand and if not he could always cast a clarity if he absolutely needed to. Approaching her to her side he placed it on the ground besides Sonder.
“Let me know if things become too hot for you.” Daichi commented as he felt things begin to heat up just from the magic, even her skin radiated a noticeable amount of heat. “Drink this potion, wait about a minute and then try it again. If you feel yourself becoming fatigued let me know. I have another way to restore mana if I have to.” He took a step back. “I need you to practice that motion again until your arms feel like they’re ready to fall off.” He let out a light laugh.
“It all comes from practice. Remember that. It’s a good start, but let’s see if we can keep up the pace.”

Sonder nods, looking over the bottle- she'd never seen one in person before, and had no concept of how it might taste. "Anything I should know about the effects? Weird tingling, taste of bitter almonds...?" She unscrews the bottle carefully, not wanting to spill any, and takes a slow sip, letting it wash over her tongue.
The baubles of light begin to surround her, bringing a grin to her face- having seen the effects of a mana potion during the one League match she'd been there to watch, she'd known some of what to expect, but they were much prettier close-up. The taste surprised her, though; she'd anticipated some discernible flavor, but all she could taste was clear, cold water. Better than what I expected.
"Sorry about the, uh, falling over. Didn't expect to be that tired." In contrast to the bright blue of the lights and the potion, her face is flushed from an atypical heat. "Once this kicks in all the way, though, I should be fine~" She takes another, longer pull from the bottle, waiting for her energy to return.

The taste of the potion was an odd combination of a cold clear water which after words was followed by a delayed after taste of a syrupy sweet and tartness that seemed to resemble blue berry. It was certainly an odd taste and if not for the tingling effect that spread through the body after ingesting it one might have mistaken it for a soft drink of some sort. As she drank Daichi explained.
“Make sure you drink it all at once, the most you should expect is an odd taste in the mouth and a tingling throughout the entire body. I suppose the after effect would feel like you just had a super does of coffee.” Judging from the pyromancer’s beaming face. The lights around her as the potion took effect seemed to help with the effect.
“Don’t apologize. You did nothing wrong and I’m certainly not going to punish you for learning.” A light laugh elicited from his lips. “It won’t take long for all of it to set in. After this I’ll use a clarity spell that will feel more instantaneous than that. If you’ve never experienced, you won’t know what hit you. But I promise you, it will feel nice.” He reassured her. First time with a lot of magic either tended to be memorable. It was a shame it was an equal mix of bad and good. He figured it would be best to not mention some of what he’d seen that few liked to talk about, such as igniting yourself on your first cast of the spell and then passing out from the pain.

"...Yeah, I think a bit of clarity might be nice. I don't know if I'll have enough to pull that off again." While she doesn't know her limits very well, she knows enough about her magic to be able to tell when she's wiped. "That felt like it took a lot, and- how much does a potion restore, anyway? Maybe two spells' worth?"
She remembers the first time she discovered the costs inherent in magic, as well as the first time she burnt herself with her sparks. I'll have to add my first mana potion to that list of memories- this is nicer than I'd expected.

"Someone's ability to cast spells is often directly proportionate to their strength in terms of magical ability. Your "pool" of mana is probably small, so I think that potion should help restore it completely." Daichi seemed sure enough. "Usually it covers at least half. I think you should be able to get off maybe a little more than two. My clarity should cover most of your "pool"."
He paused for a moment, so many terms were being thrown about. "Am I making enough sense here? I don't want to confuse you so early on. Also, how was the potion?"
"Yeah, it makes sense- but I feel like it hasn't restored all of it." As a test, she summons a flame- it remains for about three seconds before flickering out, seeming to exhaust her more quickly than it should. "Based on the fact that I've just taken a mana potion, I'd say that the pool might be larger than usual. I mean- something like that is meant to sustain someone, right?
"It makes sense, but- it looks like I'll need more. ...I'm sorry." She seems ashamed for her costs being so high, wanting to continue training as he's asked.
---
(( After calculations- she went straight to zero with that E casting after having spent her entire mana pool showing her abilities to Daichi, and her entire mana pool at this level is 860. Her sparks cost 70 to cast, and her fireball-ish ability costs 40/sec. to sustain- the line/AOE fire projectile (her E) costs 250 at this level. She'll need a lot of mana. ^^;; If you want, you can make a reply here, and I'll make the post to condense the rest of the training into a vignette? ))

((Sounds like a plan.))
Daichi observed with patience and nodded to her response. He focused and then channeled a clarity through his person. Rose would feel quite restored after.
"It's likely that your mana is being burned while you maintain that. Focus on single cast spells. Something that doesn't need your full concentration to maintain. Spells that can be maintained like that require a large mana pool and focus. They're difficult but strong." He encouraged her with a smile. "Let's continue until you feel like stopping."

The rest of the evening, for Sonder, passes in a blur of fire- there are few words between them as she continues her training. By the time the sun passes the horizon, her arms feel limp and weak, the pinwheeling of flame having drained them of all energy, mundane or otherwise.
"I think- I should really go home, now. I can't take too many more of those." Her face shines with accomplishment, though- she'd learned something new, and despite the soreness she knows she'll be feeling the next day, the spell was beginning to come more naturally to her. "See you- later, I suppose?"
