"I- I've never been to Ionia; wouldn't I sort-of get murdered?" A smirk appears on her face for a moment before she takes another sip, still smiling a little. "Anyway, yeah- most teas I've tried have been about as bitter as this coffee, and I know that's not how they're meant to taste."
Seeming unperturbed by the steam that swirls from her mouth with her words, she leans back, taking a long drink.

"Murdered? Sonder, have a little more faith in the Ionian people than that. Don't you think there would be an outcry if it was a common place? After all, I'm sure it's far more dangerous for an Ionian in Noxus. And if we do go. You'll be with me." He chuckled just a little as he starred at the cup and the liquid, half expecting to see his own reflection back in the blackness.
"If the tea you're drinking is as bitter than this, then it either isn't tea or it is being prepared very wrong. I'll have to make sure that your interpretation of tea is righted."

"...true. I suppose I expected it'd be the same for a Noxian in Ionia, but considering that we invaded them- well, uh, you." She shrugs, wondering if it'll be understood. It was unusual for the oppressor to come out badly from an interaction with those that they oppressed, after all, unless they'd been outnumbered- hence her worry about going to Ionia.
"Um- do you have the necessary resources to take someone to Ionia, though? I mean, that's- that's a hell of a trip, from here." Sonder takes a long draught from her coffee, letting it burn down her throat.

"Rest assured. There will be no lynchings or persecutions if we go to Ionia. Don't worry about it, it's a different place than here and you have common sense." He let a warm smile fill his face, it was ruined by another drink of coffee. He winced again and found it once again too bitter for his liking.
"I know how to get around. Standard teleportation should suffice though." It was fortunate that Ionia happened to be on the same side of the continent.

Her smile returns as she takes a long drink from her coffee, steam rising gently from her mouth with each word and exhalation.
Those moss-green eyes spark with anticipation; she's never gone anywhere by teleportation, and it sounds interesting. "Yeah, I- that'd be less expensive than travel by sea, I suppose."

He shifted the cup to the side and gave a light laugh. "...Tried something new. Not my thing but the attempt was admirable I suppose." It was half full.
"Teleportation is less pleasant and less scenic but it is certainly fast and efficient. Going by sea certainly takes time and requires planning. Not to mention where to find a proper port. I suppose Bildgewater would have to do though the Blue Flame islands are certainly foreign and odd to me. More dangerous there than here or Ionia." He let out a light laugh. "Pirates. You know?"

Rose shrugs, never having had an interaction with them- but his meaning is understood. "Want me to take it?" Her half-sarcastic offer is paired with a laugh.
"Also- just curious, how do you mean, less pleasant? I doubt it's painful, necessarily..." Though she doesn't ask verbally, her eyes show through with the concern she feels. I certainly hope it isn't; Ionia's far enough to go for a cup of tea without it hurting, too.

"The first time is, well the first time always makes you feel a bit sick. It's not painful but you certainly do feel like you're insides were shifted. And if you don't feel sick you certainly do feel weird." He rubbed the back of his head. "Not terribly sick though, I'm probably making it sound alot worse than it actually is." He slid the cup of coffee over to her.
"Talking to me is probably more dangerous than teleporting to a known destination. Please, take my word for it. I wouldn't do it with you if I knew it would hurt."

She raises an eyebrow- the sensation of sickness likely wouldn't bother her immensely, but his comment provokes a certain curiosity. He said he couldn't tell me how high up he is- based on that, though?
Sonder leans forward, ostensibly to take the coffee, and lowers her voice. "Do you mean because you're an Ionian, or because you're higher up than you'll admit?" Her lipstick glistens like blood as she smiles innocently and pours his coffee into her cup, effectively neutralizing the taste of the sugar.

"Another time dear, but no one in the Institute gets special treatment based on where they come from." She was keen enough to understand that it was an answer and a diversion. He slid the cup over and watches her take his coffee into her cup.
"And it was more of an expression than something literal meaning. I mean, casual discussion isn't hurting you is it?" He stifled a laugh but smiled.

Sonder grins, realizing he's redirecting the question. "I don't think I've been injured yet, no." Making a joke, she pulls up her sleeves and checks for blood, revealing a few scars on her arms. Realizing her mistake, she shakes her head. "Nothing new, anyway~"
The most prominent is a line across the top of her left wrist, seeming to have left a deep dent. On her right forearm is a darkened slash of skin, looking like a very precise burn, and the marks of small cuts and burns dot her hands and her wrists.

Daichi saw the amount of scars upon her arm. Some deeper than others. Burns and cuts and something upon her wrist. He watched probably longer than he should have and then embarrassingly diverted his attention.
"I'm sorry." He apologized, nearly turning red. "I hope you don't mind, but some of those look pretty bad. Or used to be pretty bad. Do you mind if I asked what caused them?" This wasn't his place but his curiosity led him there.

Casually, she runs her hand over the top of her wrist, feeling the furrow in her skin. "Well- uh, this one's from some, uh, play I did a while ago, with a friend," she says, nodding to her right forearm. "This one-" A small burn on her wrist- "-is from when I was cooking something in the oven, for an old girlfriend, and she walked in when I wasn't expecting it, so I, uh, hit my wrist on the top of the oven."
She describes the rest of the scars in similar ways, as minor, insignificant little stories which tell of her clumsiness and of flames, leaving the scar atop her left wrist for last.
"...You'd probably know if I lied to you, huh?" she asks, half-smiling.

"Maybe I'll just take your word for it." He smiled sincerely, hinting that he knew that it was personal. More importantly it wasn't a need to know matter. Taking every detail of someone's life, though possible, wasn't truly ethical.
"If it makes you uncomfortable you don't even have to tell me." He admitted. This was meant to be a casual and pleasant evening, not an interrogation.
