While the small town of Kalamanda was radically transformed by the League into the Field of Justice, the Crystal Scar, the area around the town itself is effectively a wilderness. The Serpentine River flows from this area, through the Marshes of Kaladoun, and the most famous Field of Justice, Summoner's Rift. To the southeast of Kalamanda is the Field of Justice occupying Morgron Pass, the Proving Grounds.
The river is still a fine source for fishing for Valoran Trout, and other river fishes, and as Kalamanda itself has since been turned into a Field of Justice, it is primarily absent of people, leaving the wildlife to go about its merry way without fear of human contact.
Riven sighed, standing on the river bank. It had been a few days since she'd camped on the lowlands of Mount Targon, and avoided the overly-friendly knight. Her wanderings had taken her east, still following the mountain range. The air was fresh here, and the sun warm and comforting. There was something nice about having her feet touching grass when she walked, rather than walking along dirt roads. The sun was very relaxing with the sound of birds, running water, and the scent of a few sparse flowers drifting through the area. Riven decided it was a nice place to have a bath.
She looked all around her position. There were no roads on this side of the area, simply wilderness, and she hadn't seen or heard signs of human life since she'd seen the knight near Mount Targon. Since the river was in a valley of sorts, she'd see anyone if they were approaching, which meant her bathing session would go off smoothly. She wasted no time stripping down to her bare essentials. She folded her clothing and placed it on a rock overlooking the small flowing pool she'd chosen for her spot. She leaned her sword against the same rock within easy grabbing distance, pulled free her hair-tie, and slid herself into the cool water, closing her eyes and relaxing.

Graves was blundering through the wilderness, Destiny at the ready. He thought it was a beautiful day...to fish for trout. By fish he means shoot at the water till fish float up, an effective strategy he has used many times. He had recently left Piltover after a extended stay with Cait and Orianna, and was heading for Brandle city to see what all the fuss was about. He had not the slightest clue of any other champions around the river and did not make any attempts to approach quietly, he would be simple to spot.
Graves did admire the wilderness a bit, it was a nice change from "the city of progress" and it left him many opportunities to do what he wanted without fear of city laws. He approached the river whistling a tune along with the wind and unknowingly coming close to the spot where Riven bathed.
( Pls don't cut me ._.)

The river was cool and refreshing, and Riven set to work washing herself. Being on the road took a toll on her. She rarely had time to tend to aching muscles or to simply relax. Each day began with training, before gathering something for breakfast, and cooking it over a fire. But every soldier needed time to unwind and remove some stress. The cool water of the river would serve to do that quite easily.
As she sat in the river, the water washing away her aches and pains, Riven's mind wandered to other things, like Noxus and her goals for the future. Being a League Champions was fine in some ways. It gave her a means to display her strength and her skill against all kinds of opponents. It even gave her some level of fame in Noxus, and the other City-States. However, was it really making a difference? Was it actually allowing her to further her goals? Or was it simply a distraction? She sighed and dunked herself in the water.
She rose up out of it a moment later and slicked back her hair, taking a sip of the water at her side. It was crisp, fresh, and cool. The river, like her, she thought, had to keep flowing, carving its own path through the landscape. It was slow going, it might take some time, but if she just continued to fight, continued to move forward, she was certain she could make something happen for the better, and change the darkness of Noxus into something that she could be proud of once more.

Riven was just beginning to relax when she spied a figure moving up the river, whistling some sort of obnoxious tune. The way the figure carried himself, she could tell it was male, and from the gait, she recognized him as Graves. She cursed her luck tremendously. She had no hatred for the outlaw, but she did very much hate being interrupted while bathing. She got to relax so little, and having it halted by wandering random encounters made it far more annoying. She slipped out of the water, hidden from view, and set about drying herself as quickly as she possibly could.
She wasn't going to drench her clothing after all, and he was still some distance away...

Graves did not notice Riven, nor was he looking for her at his range. His mind was wandering to other things, like his new perspective on some of the champions he has come across outside of the League. Truly he did not have a problem with any champion...but Twisted Fate. That backstabbing traitor will be meeting his destiny six feed under.
He came relatively close to Riven and noticed her outline, having seen her smashing heads many times in the field and at times..being on the receiving end of her wraith. Graves could always respect a woman who could fight, enjoying Leona's company above all. He hefted Destiny over his right shoulder (By this time she should be dressed) and made his way over to her, the usual serous expression on his face.
"Ey' there, Riven. Fancy catchin' ya' out in the middle of the forest, i was jus' on my way to fish in ta' river."

"Is that so..."
Riven had just barely managed to pull on the rest of her gear and put her hair up when the outlaw got within speaking range. She was still damp and uncomfortable, and she hadn't even managed to bathe as much as she had wanted. She sighed in frustration, and in an attempt to alleviate some of it. She then glanced to Graves, to his shotgun, then back to him.
"Well, good luck in your fishing attempts, I suppose."
Riven didn't particularly have a need or desire for companionship right now. All she wanted was to be able to bathe in peace. Maybe the river was quieter and more secluded farther down... She turned and began walking farther east.

Graves was watching her begin to walk away and asked about it, curious on how he had managed to scare her away.
"Leavin' already? Now tha' was fast." And he fires a buckshot into the river, looking for a fish to float up to the top. "Ole Graves scare ya' away?" He chuckled.
She was a quiet character it seems out of the fields, cause she sure as hell wont shut up while she is beating enemies down.
( Riven weh D: you leaving already! Riven will never have any allies avoiding everyone :C xD)
"No, but you interr--" Riven paused. "--came around at a bad time. I was not expecting company."
She wasn't about to tell Graves what she'd been doing when he wandered up to her position. She still didn't want to interact with the man, but now, if she left, it would be considered rude. She cursed her luck and sighed, reluctantly staying put for the time being.

Graves cracked another buckshot into the water, the water spraying around the shells and the bang rolling through the hills. This time..a fish floated up and graves smirked.
" Ha! Got em'."
He reloaded the weapon and nodded to Riven.
" Not meanin' to interrupt yah or anythin', was jus' comin' to ta' river side. So sorry bout' that."
He took a moment of silence and grabbed the fish from the water, laying it on the grass.
" Ya' know i thought ya' talked more, turns out yah much quieter tha' i thought"

"Unnecessary speaking isn't my style, Outlaw. I prefer getting right to the point of conversation. It saves time, and is more efficient." She sighed. "Anything else is a distraction."
" So i heard ya' were Noxus? But that ya' left or somethin'. What went on there?"
"Also always been wonderin' why ya' use a broken sword ...think it would be damn better ta' use ah' fixed Steel."
Riven flinched at the mention of her past. Why did everyone have to bring that up? It wasn't like it wasn't fairly well known already, especially with Noxus labeling her as a traitor, a deserter, and someone who had turned her back on them. She did her best to keep her composure, and blow it off.
"I disagreed with their battle tactics, and feel Noxus has lost its path."
She looked to her blade as Graves pointed it out. Thus, the two most common questions she had ever been asked were asked once again. At least it was better than someone asking her a bunch of useless and wasteful questions...
"My sword serves me just fine as it is. A broken blade is more than enough for most of my needs. If not, well, you've seen what I can do on the fields."

"Hmf, what ya' mean that it lost its path? Noxus always been on tha' warpath and they sure don't go straying from it."
Graves fires another round of buckshot into the river, "catching" another fish. This time blown in half.
" I seen what ya' can do on ta' fields....been hit enough by your sword, though always blast good rounds in ta' ya'." Graves chuckled. " Suppose ya' do right with a broken sword, always givin' due respect to a woman who can fight."

"Honorless tactics, Outlaw. Deceit, lies, trickery, all are things that Noxus has done in recent years. It wasn't always like that..." Riven trails off.
"I'm a soldier and I fight for my goals and beliefs. What's it matter if I'm a woman?" She raised a brow. "Are you suggesting I'm somehow weaker because I'm a woman, and because of that, you're surprised that I can fight as well as I do?"
