Seeming comforted by Riven's answer, the young mage nods, and turns up her coat collar against the wind. "Alright... thank you."
It- would seem out of place for the General to do something so extravagant, she decides.
She moves as though to return to where she had been sleeping, then pauses. "Do you want me to stay with you, until the Battlemistress and De Rosier return?" Her uncertainty is near-palpable; she doesn't want to disturb the Exile if she's not wanted.

In the darkness around Riven's camp three of the original seven mercenaries watched in wait their attire blending in with the darkness making them extremely difficult to see the other four had circled to the rear of the camp for a flank attack on Vergil's mark. As the mercenaries approached the shortest of the three stepped on something that made a series of loud crunching noises and all three of them froze.

((I believe we have a slight problem here. Astrid and Sivir aren't in the camp, so they're either sleeping somewhere close to it, or en-route to the camp, either way, they would've been noticed first, or have noticed the seven. So a recap of what was happening in OC chat would be nice to straighten things out))
((Sivir and Astrid are not at the camp, and are on their way back to it. Riven, Shaco, Rose, and Adeptis are the only members in the camp at the moment. Whether or not Sivir or Astrid saw them (and they likely didn't since they're camouflaged in the darkness) is mostly irrelevant. They haven't posted in a while, so we can just move forward without them. If they show up later, we'll roll with it.))
"Do you want me to stay with you, until the Battlemistress and De Rosier return?"
"I'll be fine by myself, though I thank you for your offer." As Riven spoke, she took hold of her blade and admired the fine, sharp edge she'd placed upon it with her hard work. Her only upset now was that it was likely she would have to ruin it...

One does not sneak and make no noise. In the darkness, Riven relied most on her hearing, as the shadows could play tricks on her eyes. The earth around them was dried and cracked from the harsh sun, and strewn with dried branches from the trees trying to survive. Even the most light-footed of creatures would have trouble sneaking undetected through such conditions. Gravel would always make noise against itself, after all.
Riven did not react initially for two reasons. Firstly, she did not want to startle Rose and the others. Secondly, she didn't wish to let the would-be attackers know that she was aware of them. The cracking twig, though, gave her enough of an incentive to act.
"Watching where one is going is always harder in the dark. I suggest the seven of you rethink your intentions." It was difficult, but using her ears, Riven had discerned seven sets of footfalls in different locations. As far as she could tell, they were surrounded. "Unless you're looking to do battle with two League Champions, unrestrained by League restrictions..."
Shaco cracked open one of his eyes. As a trained demon jester assassin like no other, Shaco was used to being a light sleeper. After all, faking sleep was one of the easiest ways to lure unsuspecting passerby to an easy kill.
Shaco did not discern what Riven was saying until she got to the part about the League Champions. Sivir must have not been back yet, so she was probably referring to Shaco and herself.
Silently, Shaco unsheathed his shivs, keeping both of his eyes closed, and waited there, unwilling to announce himself as awake even to his companions. He would wait this one out, and decided what action to take when it was necessary.

"League champions?" A man spoke from behind the camp as the seven figures slowly revealed themselves. "For it seems we have mistook you for bandits." The lead man stood in front of three others two being twins and one being a huge man covered in muscles while the three in front were a short woman and two men with a pole hammer and a pole ax. "My apologies for making you worry our eyes are not exactly tuned for the dark."
"I wasn't worried." Riven spoke from her perch atop the rock, her eyes counting the figures to make sure all were accounted for. Her hand was still on her blade, ready to react if the seven grew hostile.
"As we are not who you seek, I assume you'll be taking your leave now, yes?" Riven's gaze rested on the man who seemed to be speaking for the others. "Hopefully with more selective vision."
The cool night air kissed along Elissa's skin as her cloak fluttered in the wind. Her hands resting on the back of her head, she sighed. She was on her way from Noxus to.. somewhere.. she really didn't have any destination. Her sword sheathed at her side, she simply kept walking, wondering who or what she would find on these empty roads.

"we could leave if that is what you want but then we would have no lead on where our original target actually is, perhaps you could help us." The man stood firm with authority while the one with the pole ax groaned and mumbled something about talking which he stopped the moment he received a very sharp glare for the entire group except for the huge one. "Allow me to introduce myself. I am Vergil I am leader of The Seven the hunk of meat behind me is Gerrt the shortest of our group is Krutis the twins are Hyne and Leeyan our strategist is Lawin." Lawin took a bow. "And the cocky one with the big ax is Wylet." Vergil and his crew sheathed their arms. "Maybe your entourage has seen a particular band of bandits that have crept a little to close to the city as of late?"
"I'm afraid I've seen no such thing." Riven shook her head. She'd only been in the area for a few days and hadn't seen signs of any bandits. "I'm sorry we couldn't be any more help than that."
Riven had heard of the band of mercenaries, though she knew little about them outside of their profession. She didn't particularly care to learn any more about them at the moment either. She had her own goals, and dealing with this bunch would only slow her and the rest of the small troop down.

"then we are sorry for wasting your time." Vergil turned to motion to the rest that they were moving out and they all began to take their leave. "May our paths cross on the terms of good will never a good thing to fight such skilled warriors only to have casualties on either side." They left as swift as the wind could take them.
"Right." Riven watched them leave before returning her attention to the fire and the camp once more. She had enough on her mind without having to deal with random visitors to the camp. Where the hell were Sivir and Astrid?
Sivir's form finally came into view, she had walked a few steps ahead of Astrid, cross blade in hand. Upon reaching the camp, she stabbed the blade into the soil "Sorry about that." She said, sitting back down next to the fire. "We ran into a little.. problem."
