Evelynn stepped in after the Summoner, the shroud obscuring her from sight falling away as she done so. She smiled softly, "It will have to do, won't it?" Evelynn purred while twirling a long pink coil of hair around her index finger. In an instant a dark expression crossed her features, the golden eyes glinting with, her voice sounded to come from every direction at once, "Cross me, and I will destroy you, my dear." Just as fast as it had come, the moment had passed, Evelynn leaned back idly twirling the coil of hair around her finger once more with a playful smile upon her lips, "What, exactly, do you want to know?"

Kiersta raised an eyebrow. A threat with respect to as unasked favor? Certainly the Widowmaker was creating more than widows. Yet deciphering her plans would have to wait. Kiersta was no fool: she needed the Widowmaker’s information to plan her move. If Evelynn wanted to offer her implicit protection of the league, then so be it. “This ‘Ruined King,’ is he in any war related to the blade of the same name that resides in our vaults? The records of its retrieval are patchy, an apprentice artificer with little skill happening upon such a powerful artifact in a stroke of uncharacteristic genius.” She looked away from the Widowmaker. “It seemed too good to be true… perhaps it was.”

Evelynn smiled, her eyes glinting with morbid curiosity as to what Kiestra would make of the extremely rare opportunity she had now. A look of almost disappointment cross Evelynn's features as the summoner asked about the blade that the Widowmaker had helped the league acquire, not that it was common knowledge of course.
With a sigh she made a dismissive wave, "Yes it was once his blade, cut out his own soul with it... If you want to believe such a tale." She smiled a little and watched Kiestra carefully, "Convenient that you happened to have it come into your possession before his awakening... Who knows what he would be capable of should he reclaim it."

So it was true then. One of the most powerful weapons held in the vault belonged to a king of undeath bent on destruction without a second thought. And should he find out, the institute itself would be the next target of his wrath. It certainly wasn’t the first powerful foe they had made enemies of. Kiersta closed her eyes in thought, considering her next question. “We have shared thought and mind with the champions of the shadow isles, and never heard a hint of this king. The denizens of the isles seem well bound to his will. Were you too called to serve as his thrall?”

She smiled as raises her eyes to the ceiling of the room they were in and spoke to herself, "Funny you would use such an item, seeing as you publicly stated that the studying of necromancy and necromancy artifacts was prohibited within the league." Her voice was soft as though what she said was simply an afterthought.
At the question of being The King's thrall Evelynn almost laughed, her eyes flashing as she turned her gaze to the summoner, "I am no thrall. I am simply someone who saw an opportunity and took it. Much like I am now. I served him willingly."

Kiersta waved a hand dismissively, “The Institute doesn’t practice necromancy,” she quoted, “that much is certainly true. You won’t find any shambling corpses cleaning our halls or bound souls powering our spells. But do not imagine that we don’t study the art and it’s capabilities. That would be naught but folly.”
They don’t serve because they have to, but because it would be foolish not to. At the very least it meant the champions’ understanding of world was left intact, for better or for worse. “Then do you know his goal in attacking the Demacian lands? To call up an army with no warnings or demands… There must be something he sought to gain, seeks further mastery over.”

"What if there isn't?" Evelynn pushed off the wall and stepped toward Kiersta, "What if it was all because he's insane, drunk off power and simply wanted to slaughter people to watch them scream in agony?" A dark expression filled with morbid pleasure crossed her face as she spoke, "Or perhaps it was simply a sacrifice of people to gauge the capabilities of the Institute that, at the moment is stopping another Rune War from erupting, evil and diabolical wouldn't that be?"
A sadistic smile lingered upon Evelynn's lips, simply curious as to how much the Summoners really knew about the King's past or the limits of his power.

Kiersta quirked an eyebrow at the hypotheticals, always sifting through the information she received for the truths it may hold. “A fool does not command respect with wanton abuse of power. You would not ‘serve’ him, so much as follow along to his carnage. Nor do I see much much purpose in testing the institute by attacking the one city state most prepared to defend itself.” She crossed her arms, wondering if the Widowmaker would truly provide information. “I’m certain you have met the entity. Can he be reasoned with? Does he intend to bring the corruption and death of the shadow isles to our living lands?”

"No." she smiled revealing her fangs as she enjoyed every moment of playing with the summoner, of course she would eventually share the information, but why give something away so easily? "Respect? No, but one earns fear, they realize the force of the Shadows Isles is not just a myth to scare children into being good little boys and girls. Attacking one of the more most prepared to defend itself and bringing it to its knees, only the Institute of War's intervention preventing its destruction... What if I told you that was only a fraction of the Isles capabilities?" She laughed, "Not one of the King's generals, unknown to you, were present. How would you have fared if the full might of the Isles had been present?"
A feigned smitten dreamy look crossed her features, "Yes, I have met the Mighty Ruined King, he knows reason, he knows power and he knows rage, but." she looked the summoner in the eyes, her voice dropping to a serious tone as the, "He does not know fear. He wishes to reclaim his fallen kingdom, if the history is true, it used to stretch the length of Noxus and Demacia."
She placed her hands behind her back, a coy smile forming on her lips as she leaned forward slightly, "Are we having fun yet?"

Kiersta shook her head against the Widowmaker’s games, doing her best to ignore the jabs to glean what information she could instead. “Yes, fun, it is all about that, isn’t it,” she commented absently as she categorized the information. The historians bickered endlessly of the links between ruins spreading from Urtistan to the Freljord, yet few had paid mind to the frantic claims of a continent-wide civilization. She filed away the information, noting that she would need to be briefed by the League’s historians on the matter before moving to more pressing matters.
For the attack to be a fraction of the Shadow Islands’ power would mean there were great forces on the horizon indeed, but that which must the pinnacle of their strength was conspicuously absent. “You have met him, perhaps, but no mortal has. If he means to reclaim his fallen kingdom, why did he not lead the first strike on his way?”

Evelynn gave Kiestra a blank stare, "Have you ever heard of a king leading the first charge against an enemy as strong as Demacia?" she blinked and smiled, "Other than that, it's something I don't know." She tapped her tip with a long slender nail as her eyes rolled up in thought before musing aloud, "I personally feel he overestimated Demacia." Silently, Evelynn was surprised that the summoner hadn't been curious about the Generals.
She grinned, long fangs showing as she turned her golden eyed gaze back upon Kiersta, "There is... One mortal who has met him." A dangerous flicker of sinister pleasure glinted within her eyes.
