It had been a long time since such an idea of this scale were to be put into motion. It seemed impossible to achieve, given just what the demands are and who would be involved in it.
And yet, here he was, ready to spearhead one of the most important projects in the history of the city-state. It was a project initiated by the Parliament at the request of the Prime Statesman himself, a project he did not expect to receive such a backing.
This could only mean the reasons for this initiative to be form were pressing beyond belief, and that it would be absolutely critical that the projects aims be fulfilled, demanding that the brightest and the best contribute all they had to ensure its success.
To the Inventor, this was what he lived for; to bring about the success of the future through progress, and what was this initiative but one of those alleyways towards a brighter tomorrow?
However, the board had made it all too clear that this was not a one-man - or yordle - job; this was a city-wide effort, and even those from Bandle City were invited at the behest of the board to accelerate the project's timetables.
He sighed at the latter prospect: The famed Menace was anything but on friendly terms with him, and he well knew that tensions would rise upon the two seeing each other again. However, the project's goals were above such a petty disagreement, and he was willing to put aside such past grievances if it meant that the science that would be advanced out of this project would aid in safeguarding Runeterra's future.
For now, however, he was to await the arrival of two others for the most critical aspect of this project: The Defender of Tomorrow, and The Gem Knight. The three were to meet in one of the rooms of the S&P Yordle Academy's basement complex, and at this moment there was just The Revered Inventor, mentally preparing the topic that was to be discussed.
This conversation was to only be known to the three involved, and the knowledge to be gained only to the same three. To this end the entire room was emptied save for a bare table and three chairs, each scanned and inspected for any possibility of listening devices or magics, each piece of furniture confirmed to be absolutely clean. The room was otherwise completely bare, with no windows and an absolutely spy-proof door keeping out anybody who was forbidden to enter. The other two had their id-specific entry cards needed to enter the room; otherwise, nobody could gain entry, nor listen through.
And so the Inventor was all alone in the room at this time, making sure there was no information he needed to dispense to the others that he would accidentally forget...

"Package sir."
The metallic voice of the mail-bot echoed through the door as the Defender went to answer it, accompanied with 3 precise knocks. The humanoid figure tipped its hat the moment Jayce received his package, and gave Jayce a few documents to sign.
"A package? I haven't received one of those in a while." Jayce mumbled to himself angrily. He carefully inspected it, seeing that the sender was Heimerdinger - or rather the YASP. He preferred to think of it as the Inventor.
He had been working on his project for the Sheriff, but that would have to wait now. The sudden intrusion of this message must have been important to come at this time and so suddenly. He dismissed the mail-bot with signed papers, and carried the package over to his worktable in order to check everything.
"... A meeting? Now? Damn, I'm late!" Jayce fumbled around in panic, getting his clothes fixed in a hurry as he grabbed whatever was needed - his hammer, his wallet, and his ID card key. Scraps of paper flew as he rushed out the door without hesitation.
A few minutes later, considering the location of Jayce's home to the YASP, Jayce had arrived to the locked room which held the meeting. He gave it a knock, before opening the door with a swipe of his card key.
"Hey, Prof. Heim. I just got your message recently. Was too caught up in my work to notice it fully." Jayce said with a friendly wave, the door shutting behind him automatically.

Taric had just recently arrived to Piltover from one of his outings. He could almost sense that he would be needed rather soon to aid his surrogate home. He headed through the Academy halls to his office to drop off his things and change. As he approached his office he noticed a mail bot knocking on his door. He was never sure how to act when it came to the automatons. The knight approached the robot and gave it a polite smile.
"Hello, can I help you sir....or miss?"
The mail bot turned to him and held out the parcel along with some papers, not even bothering to correct the champion.
"Package for Champion Taric, the Gem Knight. Please sign and accept."
Taric nodded and filled out the paperwork and handed it back as he took the parcel. The robot then left without another word. Taric watched it leave as he unlocked the door to his office. He opened the parcel and read through the contents, looking up at his clock as he did. Nodding to himself he dropped off his things and took up his hammer again and headed to where the meeting was. ---------------------------- Taric walked down the halls, his large hammer resting against his shoulder and shield strapped to his back. He didn't have time to take his armor off or lock up his armaments. He approached the door and swiped his card before he walked in. He spotted the professor and the Defender and nodded to them in greeting.
"Good morning Heimerdinger, and to you Jayce. Sorry if I am late, I had just arrived back from one of my outings. I trust that you both are well. Though I assume that this meeting is more than just a friendly get together for tea."
The gems on his armor, like always, caught the light in the room, refracting it, making the Gem Knight seem to sparkle.

"Good day to you both, gentlemen," The Inventor briskly - yet in a friendly tone - replied to the Defender and the Knight as they made their way into the room. Upon seeing the door close for good, and hearing the locks activate, he was content to begin.
"As you both read in the letter addressed to you in the same mail alerting you to this meeting, the topic that is to be discussed here is of utmost important to the city-state. It has been cleared for a go-ahead by the Prime Statesman himself, and is unique in being perhaps the only project that has received full bi-partisan support from Parliament."
"Now, the project in it's generality will be announced to the public - and thus to all of Valoran - within a few days. However, there is one element whose secrecy is mandated by the whole force of the state, and it is this same part that we three have been assigned to. As the chief designer of said project, I have thus been granted permission to share the blueprints with both of you now, with the knowledge that none of it may this room or our minds."
With that, Heimerdinger tapped the table, and from the middle emerged a holographic display of what looked like some futuristic suit armor of some sort.
"Defender, Gem Knight, allow me to introduce you both to the 3D schematics of the Mark I Arclite Power Armor."
"Planned to be the latest in personnel protection for our servicemen within the city-state and abroad, this suit utilizes the latest in hextech and metallurgical advances to bring about the protection of the Men, Women and Yordles of the future."
"Utilizing 5.899 reinforced steel-titanium composite alloy and a 15 micro-meter thick silver-gold compound ablative, this suit is backed by a money-back guarantee to keeping the wearer protected from next to everything. The G-25 hydraulic systems allow for complete comfort and full mobility in spite of such a heavy suit, which masses in at almost half a ton."
"A fully built-in oxygen generation system based off of air waste exhaled by Humans and Yordles allows for complete protection from chemical attacks or any other form of warfare that involves attacking the biological systems of the body, assisted by the suit being fully sealed off from the outside when fully donned with the use of the industrial-grade hextech liquid sealant."
"The helmet is easily the second most impressive part of this Power Armor, however. Sporting the necessary internal nozzles and breathing tubes to support the rebreather and packing an almost equal amount of the composite alloy and ablative as the entirety of the rest of the suit, the Arclite Power Helmet also sports a built-in hextech reciever and a blitznet-supported visual HUD, allowing for unparalleled communications in-between Piltover's finest."
"Of course, even the already-impressive-in-itself helmet pales in comparison to the crown jewel of this Power Armor," Heimerdinger noted. He tapped the table once more, and all of the parts of the armor in the blueprint seemed to fall away, save for the very center, which was then magnified to allow a better look.
"And this, gentlemen, is what we three - under absolute secrecy, and only to even be known between the three of us - have been tasked by Piltover to create..."

Jayce blinked. He had heard of this project briefly, but to reveal this plan to such an extent... Jayce was bewildered, yet honored at the same time. His inventor's mind and curiousity immediately sparked, he rose up from his seat to take close looks at the holographic plans of the armor, and once the armor was reduced to just the core, his eyes twinkled like a child staring at a shark in an aquarium. He tried to grasp the core, but he couldn't. But he just knew it. He knew how to make it, it was in his head. He knew he had to make it.
He shook his head back, taking steps away from his dream invention. Doing it alone was out of the question, but this was not a solo project. There were brilliant minds and skills at work here.
He clutched his hammer in excitement, turning to face the Inventor.
"Professor, how do you expect the core to be made? It looks quite similar to the Hextech Capacitor on my Mercury Hammer - perhaps I can make it the same way as that. What do you think, Taric?"
Post by The Gem Knight on Oct 19, 2013 12:14:12 GMT -5
Taric walked over to the holographic schematics and briefly looked them over. But as with Jayce, his interest was on one aspect only, the Core. He knight rubbed his chin in thought as he looked over the energy demands of the core.
"Well, I know that conventional methods of powering such a piece of equipment would be near to impossible for what you intend to use it for."
He crossed his arms and looked over at Jayce.
"I believe that the key to making the core is a type of gem or crystal, one that amplifies energy. Though the tricky part of that is controlling the output and how to ensure it keeps up with constant use, because those types of stones can be rather unpredictable."

Heimerdinger merely nodded.
"Indeed, the main problem here is attempting to create a device that can fit the specifications demanded by the Armor; nothing in the current inventory of the city-state can actually provide the required 85,000 Watts of energy and last for the 'essentially perpetual duration' - in this case, 10,000 years - and be of a form that comes close to the weight and size of our lightest, smallest hextech portable generator, which I may add doesn't even provide a ten-thousandth of the required output."
The Inventor could only stare at the specification blueprint for the core, lost in thought, before snapping out of his mental absence a few minutes later.
"Wait a minute! Gem, Crystal... Eureka! I think we might have our answer here!" Heimerdinger exclaimed, before beginning to mumble to himself rapidly, albeit inaudibly.

"A crystal?" Jayce blinked, staring at the core and analysing it while putting this new factor into prospect. "Yes... I can see. That would work quite well, and power the core as well. I suppose we'll have to leave what kind of crystal to you, Taric." He nodded to the gem knight, with a prompt thumbs up.
"The only problem I see is implementing the immense power of the crystal into the core using stable means... I could give you the design of my hextech capacitor and ask of you to help with mass producing it - as well as thinking of how to transform magic to electricity constantly." He knew that Heimerdinger was completely capable - even with the ridiculous amounts of power on their hands.

(Sorry for the Delay, been busy all of the sudden.) Taric nodded at the thumbs up with a gentle smile and then considered the blueprints as he rubbed his chin in thought.
"Very well, I have a few samples in mind already.Though it would probably take some time to figure out what works and what doesn't."
When Jayce mentioned the capacitor Taric frowned slightly.
"Though I work here in the Academy, my expertise with mechanical devices are somewhat...lacking. I would probably cause more harm than good on my own. Perhaps we should combine our fields and work together on it."

Heimerdinger broke out of his self-thinking state upon realizing that the other two were still present, now recovering his senses to address them.
"Precisely; this project will almost certainly require all three of us to work together to bring to its fruition. I also think we could very well have our answer to the problem of creating a generator strong enough to power the armor..."
"Taric, you recall that most fascinating gem we found at the quarry, no? And Jayce, you also recall the method employed to create your capacitor, correct?"
"Perhaps, just maybe, maybe, if we were to combine these two forms, it could very well yield the solution here!" Heimerdinger quietly exclaimed to the other two.

Jayce nodded. "I agree, Prof. I'm very certain it will work! But I have to modify the capacitor for the fitting of a crystal..." He turned to Taric and nodded, mentally noting some processes beforehand. "Before I start, may I please take a look at the crystal that you mention?" His eyes gleamed, staring intently at the core on his hammer. He could see the pure ball of energy floating inside, brimming with energy, but he couldn't wait to see how crystals would be used in this kind of technology.
He grasps for something in his pocket, but seems to be confused. Perhaps plans of sorts?

"Ah, it's nothing, Taric. I thought I had brought spare blueprints with me. I'll have to take it to my laboratory to inspect myself, then." He nodded, taking his hands out of his pockets to show that they were empty.

Heimerdinger nodded at the two and closed his eyes for the briefest of moments to ponder his thoughts, before opening them again and turning to look at the others.
"Hmm, thinking of it further, it perhaps would be best that you two could provide what you both have independently developed between the times I last met you both and now? It would be best to speak it now, so that we are able to determine what we will need to do in order to construct this Core."
He raised a slight eyebrow at Jayce's reaction, but did nothing further upon it.

Picking out a rugged notebook, Jayce flipped through a few pages before handing it to the Professor. "It's all I got right now, Prof. Just a few calculations on the basis of hextech physics, as well as the relationships between Magic and Science." Jayce beamed, pointing out all these complicated diagrams out for him to see, despite knowing that Heimerdinger would probably understand even without him pointing it out.
"I thought that if we wanted to make something as big as this... it would be better to start from the basics." He says, letting go of the notebook and giving it to Heimerdinger completely.
