Specifically what people mostly refer to you as off the forum.
For example, most of you know me as Raz/Razie, but before that I was known to most of my friends as Jimd
Jimd was a nickname I received because my guildies quickly found out I wasn't your average joe, I was an abnormal Jim. Then I threw a D at the end because my character main at the time was Druid.
So, how'd you guys get your names? This is a thread I've been meaning to make for awhile, so I'm curious!
I used to be really into a game called Ragnarok Online (private servers) when I was younger. A really good friend of mine and I decided to do something really cheesy and named our characters "Lapis" and "Lazuli", after that sparkly gem. Fast forward a couple of years, the private server died and unfortunate stuff happened.
'Ruri' means/can mean lapis lazuli in Japanese and I just slapped on an 'n' because the name was too short as a nickname on most sites otherwise.
So: Rurin.
Edit: Fun fact, "ruri" can also mean 'azure', the color. Note that I did not meet a certain Zubat until much later, which we both found sorta funny. Or I did.

Well, when I took the name TheMcDanee I had been switching around a lot of different nicknames on steam, mainly because I was bored to be precise, The name stuck to me when I began to play League and I wanted to change there, realizing it cost money to change I kept it, and I have since then.

My family occasionally calls me 'Chip' because even when I was really little I loved potato chips, they even have pictures of me on a big wheel as a toddler with a bag of potato chips as big as myself in my lap, lol. Even though they don't always use it to adress me I liked it for some reason and used it a lot for game names. My league smurf is named 'Chip Smoove' and I used the name 'Chip' or some variation of it for a lot of other characters/accounts on different games I've played like WoW, WC3, Diablo etc.
Hm, lets see my one brother also calls me Niggatron for some reason, not sure why, and a lot of my irl friends have called me Broski for the longest time and I;ve used these in League as well. My main account on league used to be Niggatron then I changed it to Neegahrow out of fear Riot would make me change it which they ended up doing anyway, so now it's The Br0ski.
All my nicknames kinda just came about on their own, I never actively tried to get one. In skype with all of you guys I just use my real name though because I'm too lazy to change it.

Well, initially I went by nckk0 everywhere. Everywhere. I can't stress that one word enough. Everywhere. But enough people started calling me Nick that I got sick of it and I also didn't have remotely constant internet access, so when I completely lost access for a while, I came back and started new accounts on everything.
I was struggling for a name. I danced from Blazing Shadow to Burning Shade and eventually got sick of them because they were constantly taken everywhere (because I was an inventive child, so I invented something that everyone else had, clearly) so I had to come up with something new. I was into RP and had been for a good few years at that point, I was also hardcore into Kingdom Hearts (still am, the Nobody Symbol has been the background for my iTouch since I bought one several years ago and is the first thing I change once I upgrade to a new iTouch) at that time. So I had a character named Raius and I realized that if I tried using that name, well, GLHF, I'd never get it.
Of course, I loved Nobodys, so I Nobody'd the name Raius. For those unaware, you take a name, add an X and then jumble the letters however the hell you please. I came out the other side as Uxaris. It had an X and it didn't sound like any pre-existing word I'd ever heard, and because of those facts, it was never taken anywhere.
"Uxaris" proved too hard for some people to pronounce, my old Vent Group host always called my Ur-Axis which is just every kind of wrong. So it gets commonly shortened to Uxie and sometimes just Ux. The former of those two is definitely more common, and since I love Pokemon, and there's a Pokemon named Uxie, I clung to it and never let go.

Well it all started when I was around 9-12 years old and my favorite pokemon was golem so I added it to everything and continued out of custom cue to years later I got bored and added Eldricht to it to make my league summoner name when I was making my first OC (in MS) I wanted her to have edl of her name and I remembered that Rugal's son was called Adelheid (and yes is a girls name) so I used it. After that Adel was short and nice to use as a to go nick name along side Adal so I now roll with it. It also kinda sounds like the pet name my family uses for me but that is classified info

Heh... Nicknames are a funny thing. I tend to have them heaped upon me, so trying to go into all of them would be just too much hassle, so I'll just go with my top 3.
#3. RF Killbeast: So, for those of you who don't know, I've been RPing off and on since I was 4 years old. My father started me on The Red Box of Dungeons and Dragons very young, and since then I've participated in/ran countless campaigns in Dungeons and Dragons, Dragon Quest, Palladium, White Wolf, and numerous other game systems. RF Killbeast came from a particular game of GURPS(Generic Universal Role Playing System) set in an anime-esque world where most of it had been destroyed by a massive war where super nations fought with bio engineered superpowered armies. One of the creatures that our group encountered in the wild (A massive armor-plated hybrid of basically a sandshark and a sarlac) provoked a very unique reaction from my character "I signed up to protect this caravan from bandits, not some Razorfanged Killbeast." The name was well liked by the group, and it kinda followed me into other games after that point. Before long, I was being called by it, and soon after I took up RF Killbeast on Xbox Live, and even today I use RFKillbeast as my Smurf account on League.
#2. Shironen2011: Shironen was a name I cooked up shortly after seeing the super-cheesy anime Ninja Resurrection, smashing together the word Ronin with Shiro initially, but then deciding that that was too cheesy even for me, so it went from Shironin to Shironen. The 2011 was settled upon at the point where almost everywhere on the internet started requiring numbers in your name if you wanted approval, so I went with the year I made the handle. It's stuck ever since.
#1. Yndrian: Once upon a time I was trying to create my own game world that I affectionately refer to as Efantora. This game world was basically an alternate reality version of Earth, with certain striking differences at strategic points in its history. In the setting The Eve of the Shattering, Efantora is approaching its Doomsday scenario, and for the first time in countless millennia the world Primordia, the land where the Dragons fled to after leaving Efantora, became visible in its erratic flight pattern around the sun. Yndrian is the head of one of the Dragon clans of Primordia, the feared house Nightwalker, which is derived from an ancient shadow dragon lineage. That's why the name is near to my heart. The name, however, was derived from an old video game I once played; Disciples 2 by StrategyFirst. In this title there is a map called The Battle of the Yldriam Isles, and one of the vitally strategic strongholds on this map was guarded by a Dragon. I found the name of the map pleasing, but rather than rip off the name outright, I changed the l and the m into Ns. Thus Yndrian sprang into being, plaguing my tabletop games, leaderboards on Soulcalibur 2 Arcade Machines, and other places to numerous to count, the most recent, of course, being my Summoner Name on League.

I've had one nickname that stuck, and that's TechnOkami.
There's not much of a story. I absolutely loved the game Okami, and at the time I was exploring the width of EDM at the time, and I was into Techno. I did some word fusionsha, and behold, TechnOkami was born.
It's actually funny, I don't really like Techno. I like House, some chill/ambient stuff, etc., but techno is too fast paced for me (that or I haven't listened to "good" techno).

In the long-off bygone ages, on the first account I ever made (For Runescape when it first came out on Miniclip): RJ1995. Frst/mid initial, birth year. I rolled with that for YEARS before I eventually decided to come up with something more original, and took a Red vs Blue reference for yet another account on a different site: AlphaAI. On said site, I made an android character who was an experiment on creating a sentient machine, whom I dubbed 'Experiment Alpha.' I kept this name from that point forward, since A: It was rarely taken, and B: It was by far more original and less cheezy than 'RJ1995'.

Well, this is time for a long story.
Back in ye olde days, when I was...like...YOUNG...I went by Legolad99. Because I was a lad. I liked Legos. And someone already had the name Legolad, so I tacked on a couple numbers that were easy enough to remember. So, I became Legolad99.
I stuck with that for a while, using it for most of my games, because seriously. Who uses 'Legolad99'? Eventually, though, I found a place where somebody - shocker - already had that name. Can't remember exactly where ATM...but then I had to make a new username. So, I decided to give a small nod to one of my favorite (most OP) classes in one of my favorite games, namely Dragonfable: The Soulweaver. So, my new username was going to be Soulweaver, except that that too was taken. So I tacked on a 64, because of three reasons:
1) 'Soulweaver64' just kind of rolls off the tongue. 2) If I'd gone higher to 69, I would've likely gotten odd looks and possibly banned. 3) Nintendo 64 was my favorite gaming system at the time...also the only one I could access.
So I was Soulweaver64. And any of you who have been around for a bit know I still use that in some places. Anyhow, tracking back slightly...
Earlier, I mentioned I really like Lego. Which is true. Lego is my life still. (Side note: If you hit me up on Skype, I'd be happy to share shots of my latest creations. Currently turning over ideas for Vi-esque gauntlets in my head.) Several years ago, there was a series called 'Knights Kingdom' where four knights tried to save a kingdom. Shocker. Anyhow, one of the knights (and my personal favorite) was named Jayko, and eventually he became king himself, King Jayko.
I was so personally proud of him that I decided to make a character in Dragonfable named after him. To this day, King Jayko is my best character. So, in another tip of the hat, in a story I was writing, I made the main character Jayko - but realizing how blatant that was, I shortened it to Jay. And thus Jay the OC was born.
Eventually, I got into League of Legends, and I needed a new username. Recently, I'd dropped out of Dragonfable a bit, so I was strapped for ideas, and decided to use Jayko - as in my character's name - as my username, and then tacked a 'boy' on at the end because Jayko was taken already. So that's how I became Jaykoboy. And Jaykoboy I shall remain.
...unless you're on Steam. Then I'm 'The Booty Hunter' because I main Bounty Hunter in DotA2 and Sniper in TF2. > .>
Sometimes, when you've been stuck alone for long enough, you just have to break out into reality, with no regard for what position it may put you in. It is better to try and fail than to never try.

To be honest Jay is my real name. I'd love to change it to something else but then I like my own name. I've been using 'JayThePerson' on many forums for the past few years and it kinda just stuck. The first time I joined Sanctuary I was also referred to as Jay, so why not?
There's also the matter of people on Maelstrom calling me Juice. I dunno where the name came from but it's catchy and it kinda just stuck with me. Yeah.
Aha, but back in the day I was playing games like Ragnarok Online and Maplestory. I was in Pokemon DP hype back then and I made my username jaybuizel because for some reason this weasel ass pokemon is my favorite. I came to regret this decision later. So I have to turn over and go with a more subtle name like JayThePerson, despite the fact that I've changed it a countless number of times on League.
There's also my name on GW2. 'Graww Ironhide'. My username is still JayThePerson (for obvious reasons), but I had to choose a more realistic character name due to being a Charr and stuff. Good name tho.
And then basically everything I've done on the internet has been related to my name, Jay.

Strider. It's a Lord of the Rings reference. Sounds generic and predictable, nerdy I'm sure, but it's my favorite. I'm not hardcore about it, but when I was I small my parents had a huge hardback edition of The Hobbit, with these great color illustrated pages. I'd read the series a few times before I was five. It really fed my imagination, being a solid story and both of my parents are fond of doing voices/accents for the creatures and characters. I also have a ring from each of my grandfathers that are family heirlooms, which kind of means I have to hold onto them and keep track of them because they're so "precious". I don't use "Strider" very often (its always taken) but it kind of connects to Jarvan. That's it.
My name is Geoffrey. I am a geek so the 'Geo' was born into gaming. Geo is too damned common and the first MMO (SF) I played it was taken. Geolord, Geoking, GeoCzar were all accounts I used, but Geokhan stuck.
Geokhan was my first OC because OF RP used your League account and that was my account at the time. Geokhan did many shenanigans and I won't explain it here.
Victus came about of my own dislike of bringing Geokhan over here due to the OF nature of his character, which I have still done (it took me almost a year to do so and he ain't the same). Victus just sounded right. Definition-wise....its ironic. Victus has been losing. It drives him a bit more than winning. Winning is another day at the job, but losing is a slight against him and a error to remedy. Another thing to burden on him. Why play a happy OC when you can play one who is driven to 'fix' something for something besides the betterment of all?
Andre: Andre the Giant. C'mon, who doesn't like Fesik?
Minoryu: Don't ask...I don't even remember how I FOUND it.
