Teo nods to his master's instructions and sits, starting to rinse out the suds that are now submerged. The sensation of the foam separating each strand of fur and allowing it to smooth while floating in the warm water was very relaxing for the young yordle. He hadn't felt his fur this clean in many years. Even back at the orphanage it wasn't often he'd be able to have water this warm or clean, mainly because they'd often times have to re-use the water in the tubs to save on water costs.
His ears flatten a little and a small smile forms on his lips as he relaxes and enjoys the feeling of Yoshi rubbing his back slowly, cleansing his fur and leaving it feeling silky smooth.
It was just meant to scrub off any dirt hiding under the fur. But soon the maestro found comfort stroking the back with the shampoo, leaving the entire back a radiant field of fur. As he finished scrubbing the back of the younger yordle, he feels unusually proud of cleaning Teo. He's just as happy as any artist finishing their own creations.
He scoops up a bucket of water and pours down on Teo, this time the water falls down steadily so that the shampoo residue fall out of the fur. Yoshi repeats this several times until Teo's free of all the shampoo.
"Now you look clean, Teo. Stand up so that I can dry you," Yoshi spoke as he pulls out a towel.
Teo covers his nose when the water pours on, eyes closed calmly as he feels the suds washed away. After the last bucket is poured he shakes his head a little, then stands as his master instructs him. He crawls out of the tub carefully so as to not slip and hurt himself anywhere, then stands with his arms wrapped around himself for some warmth.
Like any parent, Yoshi wraps the towels around Teo. First he brush off the water dripping on his head, then work his way from head to toe, making sure that all the fur stays dry. By the time he finished, Teo looks glowing in cleanliness.
"The clothes are there on the counter, Teo. Shirt, pants, underwear, I think you know how to dress yourself. I'll meet you in the music room," spoke Yoshi as he exits the bathroom.
Teo shakes his head again after the towel is done rubbing it, his medium-length fur poofing out a little bit. When Yoshi starts drying his belly he can't help but giggle a little bit, being very tickling. It only gets worse as the other yordle reaches his waistline, though once he's passed that point the laughter dies down significantly. The younger yordle blushes a little bit in embarrassment, not from being nude in front of another, but from laughing so much at the other yordle's assistance. "Heheh, sorry, I-I'm... kinda ticklish."
He nods when Yoshi informs him of where the clothes are and immediately leaves to retrieve them. Once there, he slips on his new attire and moves to a nearby mirror, somewhat admiring his new look. Teo pulls the pendant out from under his shirt, which he hadn't taken off, and looks at it with a frown. The memories started to hurt again, so he drops the pendant and wanders the house in search of the music room, which only takes a few minutes.
The music room is beyond messy. The only thing neat and organized is the giant yordle-sized grand piano sitting on one corner of the room. Anyone who had visited Yoshi's music room wondered if this is the place where he threw all of his junk and never bothered to clean up. Piles of scratched out and edited music pieces, both classical and classical epic, scatter the floors. Dust accumulates in the darkest of places and pencils scatter all over his working table that's right next to the piano.
Yoshi never thought of cleaning the entire place and now he's regretting it now that a certain young yordle will frequently pass by this disaster place. "Oh... Teo..." Yoshi tries to look proper but the mess says otherwise. "Well... the first thing we might do together is clean up the entire place. But first-" A pause after glancing at fallen stack of books. "Well this place is messy! Do yoooou... think we can meet in the living room instead?"
For several seconds Teo stands in the doorway of the music room, eyes glazing over everything in awe. To him, it seems as though it is a place for the imagination to run free with possibilities written down onto every sheet of paper. Unfortunately, his thoughts are cut short by his master's words, and he snaps his attention to Yoshi. After being given his directions, he nods a few times and folds his hands behind his back. "Okay..."
With one more glance around the room, he turns and makes his way back down the hall to the main room. He stops for a moment to return to the kitchen table and retrieve his flute, then makes his way to one of the chairs in the living quarters, patiently awaiting his master's return.
Hmm... so that's what Horatio warned me about... Yoshi thought as he scratches his head.
He makes his way to the main room where Teo patiently waited. He sits down in the couch that faces across Teo. Only a low wooden table separates the two.
For Yoshi, in order fully plan out his music lessons with Teo and sharpen his potential talents, the older maestro must know what he can play. He recalls the first time the two met: Teo displayed a beautiful amount of magic through music but he collapsed from exhaustion. This time, if Teo tires himself, then Yoshi must be prepared for it.
"Remember the first time we met? I need to see again what you are capable of. This will... help me plan out the music lessons that we both will have."
Teo immediately looks to Yoshi as he enters the room, fully expecting to be given instructions. He nods a few times when he is questioned. "O-okay. Um... well... oh, I do know a good song. But... it needs a piano accompaniment to sound right. C...could...would you... have you ever heard of... a song... erm, Sukiyaki?"
The young yordle blushes deeply and stutters from embarrassment, feeling it impolite to request such a thing from his master, whom he barely even knows.
Yoshi ponders for a moment, wondering if he has ever heard of the piece at all. He stares up into the ceiling trying to gain some thought, then turns his vision towards the music room to see if he even has the piece itself. Sukiyaki... the only thought he can come up from that name is that it's an Ionian song.
"Hmm... I never... heard of it," reply Yoshi. "Is it an Ionian piece by any chance?"
Teo purses his lips, thinking for a moment about what the man at the music store had taught him about the piece. Giving a small nod, he replies, "Yeah, I think so. It's one of the first songs that I learned here, and it's pretty easy. I remember that the old man down at his store was playing it during one of my visits and it sounded familiar, so I asked him about it. Erm... do you have a, uh... er..." For a minute he scratches his neck, trying to recall the name of an instrument. "Shami...shamei...oh, a shamisen? It's... like a guitar, but it's got more of a square shape and less strings."
He holds his hands out at arms length, then makes a square shape, and finally shifts his hands into the proper playing position for any guitar-styled instrument, trying to expand his definition as best he can.
"Hmm... shami- Oh!" Yoshi exclaims as he snaps his fingers.
"I have one from the attic! One of my musical colleagues gave it to me as a present but I never had the opportunity to practice it." He glances up at the attic trying to remember which box did he place the shamishen. "You can come with me to find it if you want to."
Teo catches his breath, ears flattening in surprise at the offer. He thinks about it for a moment before nodding, a look of disbelief still in his eyes. "Uh... sure."
Gently he sets his flute on the chair, then walks over to his master, looking up in the direction Yoshi's gaze had been. He'd never been in an attic before, but he remembers the old man at the music store having mentioned that they'd used theirs for storage.
The ladder to the attic isn't far. At the end of the hallway, a inclined ladder leads up to a small hatch that opens up the attic. He places his hand on Teo's shoulders and escorts him at the end of the hall. Yoshi climb up the ladder and opens the hatch. Teo should follow up shortly.
Unlike the music room, the attic is more organized. Light from the window above filters down above revealing a few dust particles in still suspension. The items sitting in the attic have been unused and dust managed to colonize themselves in old furniture and books. The closed old boxes form towers standing at the corners. Any large object that won't fit in any box surround the stacked boxes. And in one of them, a shamisen rests inside a box.
Once Teo comes up to the attic Yoshi instructs, "The shamisen should be in one of those boxes. You'll take that side and I'll take the other." It's a simple 'divide and conquer' plan.
Teo gives a small nod to his master, quickly and carefully moving to his side of the attic. Though the place is still organized, the young yordle is still unsure as to where to even begin the search for the shamisen. He steps up to a rather tall box first, using his hand to feel the dust on it. It's so thick that it coats his fingers a chalky white. In hopes of clearing off the dust, Teo slowly takes in a deep breath and then quickly blows out on the broad face of the box.
Dust is sent spewing into the air around him, filling his nostrils and making him cough and sneeze. Frantically he waves his arms around to clear the air for a moment, still coughing a few times. Some dust even started to irritate his eyes, but eventually he catches his breath enough to speak. "It's really dusty up here... do you not have to come up very often?"
