The Half-Dragon waited for the crowd to fill the sides of the sparring pit, motioning with a nod two soldiers closed the door and locked it. There would be no interruptions in this duel. When the Duelist changed her stance Shyvana smirked and slammed her gauntlets together once, sparks flew from the crash. It was time for brute strength to fight against the elegance that Fiora wielded.
Shyvana moved her foot a little and looked at Fiora, scaning her for weakspots. Fiora had almost zero armor, how convenient. The half-dragon pushed her feet into the ground and leaped at Fiora, her gauntlet moved through the air and would strike at Fiora's side if she did not parry or move out of the way.

Fiora had watched Shyvana intently, watching as the half-dragon shifted her left foot, putting more weight upon it. Fiora's eyes widened slightly as Shyvana leaped at her, gauntlet striking at her side. An enemy jumping..in a duel?
Ridiculous.
With a cry, Fiora sprang to the side, her body moving fluidly away from Shyvana's blow. It was as if she was liquid, melding herself out of harm's way. Her breath caught--the gauntlets were dangerous only if they hit her. As the Grand Duelist danced to the side, she steadied herself and lunged, the blow aimed at Shyvana's side, which would be exposed momentarily if Shyvana landed as predicted.

The Half-Dragon landed where Fiora had stood moments before, what did Shyvana expect? That Fiora would stand against a direct hit? But she did managed to scare her a little. Shyvana looked to where Fiora had jumped but felt a sting as the Duelist managed to scratch the Half-Dragon in a small opening in her armor.
Fiora's success would however be brief as Shyvana smirked and threw a downward punch at her, the gauntlet leaving a brief trail of fire behind it as it moved through the air and towards Fiora's chest. Would it hit, well it would probably hurt a lot.

After successfully striking, Fiora darted nimbly back, her lips pursed. Shyvana was all brute strength, with little tact and poise. She blew a lock of hair lightly out of her face, exhaling slowly.
There was a moment when both champions surveyed each other. Fiora took that brief moment to silently bring her left hand behind her back. Suddenly, Shyvana resumed her attack, throwing a punch toward's Fiora's chest, flames crackling from her gauntlet. Quickly,Fiora's left hand went to the small of her back, expertly unsheathing her main-gauche and bringing it toward's Shyvana's blow, attempting to parry it by angling the blade so the gauntlet would glance off it away from her. Then, with her rapier in the other hand, she would aim at Shyvana's neckpiece, where the armor was less heavily plated.

Shyvana focused her eyes on Fiora's arms and watched her movements as she threw her punch at her, miliseconds felt like several minutes as she pulled out something from her back. A small odd looking dagger in her hand as she tried to block the gauntlet, it did alter the course of the gauntlet. Shyvana knew Fiora would get in another hit at her if she didn't do anything.
Sinking down towards the ground Shyvana just barely dodged the rapier, but at the same time she did a sweeping motion with the same gauntlet. If Fiora didn't move her legs, she would find herself with her back on the ground as Shyvana aimed to sweep away her legs.

Fiora cursed inwardly as her rapier slipped past Shyvana, missing the half-dragon. The hand holding the main-gauche throbbed slightly--Shyvana's gauntlets packed quite a punch. They were too brutal for her to properly parry, and that frustrated her.
As Shyvana swept her gauntlet towards Fiora's legs, the Duelist gave a cry and sprung backwards, this time much further away. Once balanced, she continued backing away, far from Shyvana's reach. The Duelist flourished her blade and readjusted her position and blew a strand of raven black hair out of her face.
'En garde!' she cried and moved, her legs becoming a blur. In two short dashes, she was upon Shyvana once more, rapier lunging outwards towards Shyvana. Very few duelists could dodge this approach, and Shyvana would most likely be forced to block this stab.

Shyvana growled as Fiora jumped back, the Duelist was nimble, she'd give her that. Standing up again as the Duelist jumped away the Half-Dragon looked at her, scanning her armor for 'weak spots' not that her armor would do much good in real combat.
Fiora's cry reached Shyvana's ears and she smirked. "Bring it!" The Half-Dragon growled back at her as the Fiora jumped towards her she raised her gauntlets, angling them so the rapier would deflect from the metal glove. The gauntlet did deflect the rapier but in the wrong direction, turning her head away from the blade she felt her skin get cut, leaving a small thin cut across her cheek.
Feeling her blood run down her cheek Shyvana glared at Fiora, her right gauntlet moved as quickly as she could and would clamp down on the rapier, locking it between it's teeth if Fiora didn't pull away in time.

The crowd gasped as Fiora drew blood, but the Grand Duelist was too concentrated to notice. Quickly, Fiora realized that she had overextended slightly, and attempted to withdraw as smoothly as possible, knowing that she would not be able to take a direct hit from the Half-Dragon. But as she attempted to disengage, Shyvana's right gauntlet swept down, its metal teeth anchoring itself into the rapier.
Fiora snarled, her fingers gripping the main-gauche in her other hand tightly--but it was too late. The Half-Dragon had the rapier securely in her grasp.

Shyvana smirked as the Duelist struggled to pull back from her grasp, putting more and more pressure into her grasp. The sharp sound of metal snapping under pressure rang out into the arena room. With a wide grin on her face Shyvana let go of the Rapier, two pieces of the once long proud duelist blade fell to the ground.
The crowd was silent, stunned that Shyvana had destroyed Fiora's weapon of choice. Shyvana wouldn't give Fiora much time to react before she threw her a backhand punch aimed at her ribs. If it hit, it would hurt a lot, probably breaking a rib or two if she's unlucky.

The crowd may have let out a gasp, but the only reaction from Fiora was a pursing of the lips. Without hesitating to mourn for her blade, the Grand Duelist surrendered her grasp on it in order to weave away from the blow, leaving Shyvana's blow only grazing her cape.
"Pah," she spat, holding her hand out towards Adrien. Her brother, who had gasped along with the crowd, immediately went towards his own blade, intending to throw it towards his sister. But Adrien hesitated, hand on the hilt of his own rapier. Was it in the terms from the beginning of the match? He could not seem to remember. He turned to Lucas, eyes searching for an answer.
Fiora watched, coming to the same conclusion as her brother. Her weapon was broken; she did not care for the blade--it was one of many. But it meant that she was unfit to continue the fight. With a scowl, she sheathed her main-gauche. It was a parrying blade and therefore useless in duels by itself.
'I should've known better than to challenge zee Half-Dragon to a duel. Obviously you had to resort to destruction rather than disarming.'

Lucas watched intently as Fiora dodged Shyvana's charges and noted that Shyvana's momentum carried her away from Fiora. The fight got more and more intense until Shyvana got hold of Fiora's blade, which would prove fickle beneath the sheer power of her gauntlets.
When he noticed that Adrien turned to him and reached for his weapon, he raised his hand, completely forgetting that he didn't have the authority to stop Adrien, but still spoke.
"To win, one must make the other submit or unable to fight. She agreed to those terms. If sheathing her side-arm is an indicator, she has deemed herself unable to continue combat. The duel is therefore over."
Having said this, Lucas waited his response, bracing slightly for a tirade that may or may not come.
I am a Pathfinder. I will do what everyone else thinks below him, because someone must do it. Call me dishonorable for it all you want. I serve justice, not honor. And Demacia, ofcourse.

The crowd murmured and someone shouted out, ‘Her blade was broken—and those were the terms!’ Adrien shot an angry look at the onlookers and directed his attention to Lucas, eyes narrow. ‘The half-dragon does not fight ‘onorably.’ he snarled, taking a step forward.
Fiora raised a hand, stopping Adrien in his tracks. Glancing at Shyvana, she smirked. ‘I may ‘ave lost this…so-called “duel”.’ she spoke softly, almost emotionless in her delivery. ‘But zis ‘as only proven ‘ow much of a brute you are, Shyvana. Eet was reckless was of you to challenge someone of a superior position, but to also resort to such uncouth techniques?’ The Grand Duelist snorted and threw away the hilt of her rapier. She did not care for it; there were plenty of rapiers back in Laurent Manor.
‘I think you might ‘ave proved more than you wished.’ she smirked, glancing at the onlookers. Some soldiers, perhaps one from families better off, had trouble disguising their appalled expressions. They all knew Shyvana could transform into a dragon---but to command that much strength even in human form? It was almost...monstrous.

Shyvana looked at the Duelist as she threw her complaint at the Half-Dragon. Chuckling she wiped a small strain of blood away from her cheek and glared at the Duelist's brother that stepped out of the crowd. "I do not fight honorably? Then come out and fight me then, show me what you can do, worm."
Staring that the older Laurent she again heated her left gauntlet to the point where flames began to lick the metal. "Or are you too afraid?" She poked, trying to mock him into attacking her. There was probably a reason to why Fiora was the head of her house and a champion and not her older brothers.
"Superior Position? HAH! You are nothing, nothing but replaceable. Prove your worth before you speak."

''e is not afraid of you.' Fiora snarled. 'Watch what you say about a Laurent, half-dragon.' She glared at Shyvana with a venomous intensity.
'And you are nothing but a whimpering kitten under zee protection of someone powerful.' she shook her head, scoffing. 'Jarvan may 'ave seen some merit in you, but I zink 'e may 'ave overestimated you.'
She looked over at Adrien. 'Come, brother.' she said coldly. 'I zink our time 'ere 'as come to a close. And what a relief. Au revoir,Shyvana. I 'ope you proved what you wanted to.'
With a turn, she began to head out of the ring. If nobody stepped in, the Laurents would make their way out of the Sparring Pits and into the carriage that would be waiting for them--only this time minus a rapier.
