As he hit the ground he would roll onto his back. That was when he saw it, four blades coming his way. He deflected one and quickly shifted his position to dodge another, the other two though would strike home, hitting his left shoulder and right leg. He'd grunt and attempt to get up, his teeth biting down on nothing in particular at the pain. He'd take a few slow steps, favoring his left leg and his left shoulder limp, before falling over from the pain and laying on his back, breathing heavily.

It was over, the blades reached their target and surprisingly, John was not able to withstand the pain of flesh wounds as he crumbled right before Irelia. Nobody seemed surprised, the Captain proved once more that she was determined and she seemed slightly disappointed. Silence reigned over the court as it was cut short by the echoes of Irelia's steel boots that filled the air. As soon as she reached John, she gazed upon the crimson stream that was leaking out of his wounds and grabbed both blades that were homed in his body, quickly pulling them out before she tossed them away.
Her emerald eyes threw an icy stare at the man as she said "You fought well, but you need more than that to earn a spot in my ranks." She stood up and called the nurses who were sitting within the crowd of Guards who were spectating the battle. They quickly ran towards John and began lifting him up to take him to the nursery. One of the Guards stood up and made his way to Irelia, she gazed at him and whispered to him "Tell him that he may only come back once he honed his skills... whenever he feels better."
The wind kept roaring in the court, lifting the sand up in the air as it swept the ground. The sun was fading, sinking in the ocean as the skies slowly dressed up in a dark veil to get ready for the moon's arrival. Irelia briefly gazed above her at the sky then looked at her sword as it levitated beside her while it looked at her quizzically. "He will be fine, and I am sure that he will come back." Said the Captain as a smile curved on her lips.
John stared up into the sky, was that really all he had in him? Damn. He'd watch the Captain walk up to him and pull the blades out, wincing from the sudden action. John let out a short exhale, almost like a silent laugh and grinned. "I'll be back... Good fight."
More training, he needed to do way more. Maybe... Maybe make a machine that shoots blades out? No too dangerous, maybe something softer but either way he needed to get better at fighting multiple opponents, and without all his fancy gear. He'd wipe his face of sand and sweat, letting himself be carried off the field.
