Atop an icy ledge, Kassadin kept watch over the frozen wastes and the could mountain paths. Completely immobile, as if devoid of humanity and emotion. Frejlord could not afford being surprised, and he was ensuring that did not happen. He took a quick glance over the village as the demacian forces came into view. Amidst the sea of armored warriors, his eyes discerned Leona's blazing hair, Shyvanna's unmistakable amor and both the yeti and combat medic regiments. He then looked towards the horizon again. Give us your worst, Malzahar. We are prepared.
It was one of those days where the winds were violent, with a deafening howl towards the north. It kicked up the snow laden ground and created a rolling dust of white powder that blurred the distance.
It was nothing that wasn't white and moving. The shadows came later on, growing though the snowy fog of the windstorm. A wide troop of creatures marched towards the village and in the middle of the shadows, two spots of light from Volibear's enchanted armor had shined faintly though the thick snow-cloud. Volibear stood back up on his hind legs, spotting the village coming closer to view. His Ursine didn't stop behind their chieftain, continuing ahead of him. However, when Volibear ran passed them in his powerful pace...they didn't hesitate to try to match him him in the run.
In a mixture between white, brown and grey furs, a troop of Ursine, around twenty or so strong and armored, appeared in the outskirts of the village, breaking their run to a steady walk on fours into the boundaries. Volibear, on the other hand, walked upright and proud. His gauntlet cracked with lightning as he walked.

Demacia, Piltover, The Radiant Dawn and the Ursine were all received with mixed feelings. The Demacians had never been on good terms with much of Freljord and the Ursine were received with some hesitation due to their current terms with Queen Ashe. Piltover was more or less foreign, but known. Leona was well received, coming alone to aid. While it was unfortunate that she could bring no others, they were already becoming adequately reinforced.
(Shyvana) “…Do not bow. However. Your aid is…appreciated. I did not expect Demacia to have any part of this. Take a look at the layout of our defenses and see what you and your soldiers can improve. I want to reduce the number of casualties if possible…they’re coming in full force.”
(Piltover)
“I appreciate your assistance…we all do. I will ask of you what I have asked of the Demacians that have arrived. Contribute what you can now; I know not when they will be upon us. But when they do it will be in full force. Already villages have fallen.”
(Leona)
“Hello Leona.” Sejuani’s eyes were more directed towards the other troops who had arrived. “…Forgiven, you arrived on your own to aid. You are a capable warrior and will be able to contribute to this battle. Already forces have arrived from all over. It’s…unexpected. I believed we would be fighting this alone, as we have in the past with other foes.”
(Ursine)
Sejuani greeted the leader of the Ursine tribe with a look of indifference that was hidden with distain. Another ally of Ashe to aid her, he no doubt had been sent here by the bitch herself. With a slight nod to acknowledge him, she looked up towards the Ursine warrior.
“I assume you’ve come to assist as well? Do you have any other news to bring?”

Lt. Hixon nodded at Sejuani's response.
"Very well, we will begin to assist immediately," and with a final snap & salute, he turned and faced his squad.
"Alright, we don't know when the Void's gonna hit, but whenever they do, we're gonna be ready. They aren't coming now it seems, though, so now we're gonna prepare."
"Toye, take Simmers and map out the immediate area surrounding the village. Take note of all choke-points and natural barriers, and keep an identity on places where we can safely provide covering fire. After that, set up the field medical quarters nearby and get the supplies ready to be used; it's gonna be a hard fight, and we need all wounded up and ready ASAP!"
SGM Toye nodded. "Alright, Private, let's go!" and with that, the Toye and Pvt. Alley-Simmonds both left to scout the locations out.
"Lipton, go out and get a head-count on all available forces that are here for this fight; might as well know what we've got," Hixon continued. Sgt. Lipton nodded saluted, and left, carrying a paper to record the numbers.
"Grimsey, Martin, go out and find out all the spots where the MG can get set up. After that, look to the civilians and assist in moving them to safety in any way you can and are allowed." Cpl. Luz-Grimes and Pvt. Martin also saluted and left to perform their assigned tasks.
"And lastly, Heffron, get the radio set up so we can communicate with Abel squad and the rest of the relief force: we're gonna need to be able to relay any information to them should something happen before they arrive."
"Yes sir!" Pvt. Heffron replied, and with that he took the radio off of his back, set it up in a corner, and began to adjust it to be able to receive the frequency of the other radio, which was with the other half of the PMC.
"Alright..." Hixon muttered to himself after he was done giving out the orders, "let's hope we won't need to use more than what we've got..." taking off what is called the 'Medigun' off of his back; normally Maj. Lewis was the one who used it, but he believed it might be needed before the official relief force arrived; he hoped they were right.
Hixon hoped Lewis knew what he was doing, as he only had basic knowledge on how to operate the darn thing...

Flying high in the sky towards the garrison, leaving a trail of steam behind her, is the Judicator. A flurry of wings clad in the usual golden full plate, and a matching sword - just as long as her wings are wide - held with one hand as if it weighed nothing.
Lowering her altitude and speed, she flew just slightly above a wooden barricade before lightly landing upon a clearing despite her apparent weight, feet first. Careful not to knock anything over with the resulting gust of wind or her wings as she turned around shortly thereafter, she took a moment to fold them behind her back and to assess the current situation.
Then, she made her way towards Sejuani, removing her helmet so that her eyes may be seen unobscured. Carrying the headgear by her side with one hand, the other has her sword's blade facing away, towards her back, held parallel to the ground's surface.
"Greetings, Sejuani. I have come here to fight against the vile creatures of the Void. I represent none in Valoran but myself. I will aid you in this battle."

Leona looked over head as she began to wonder over to one of the back lines.. Kayle soared over her and straight to Sejuani. Leona smiled a little, an eons old angel knight would surely spike victory in their favor. Leon then continued to walk back and observe the back lines for any weaknesses.. getting flanked by these creatures wouldn't be good.
The inquisitor felt inspired upon seeing friendly champions and allies joining their ranks. A good omen to say the least, but Kayle arrival made him slightly uneasy. He was not the only one as many of his subordinates, who arrived earlier, felt the same. While Kayle was the symbol of justice, how many had she killed in the name of false justice?
Not that it mattered he dispersed his men to go and check the fortification and prepare surprises of their own. Traps that may delay or kill many of the dreaded void creatures. The men nodded and went about their work, and Rudmed did the same. He observed Leona monitoring the back lines and approached her, "Leona, I am honored to meet your acquaintance." He said bowing before her, "I am Rudmed Vonfuer, tell me what are the chances of further reinforcements from your people?"

Leona was examining any weak points in the back lines when she heard a voice call out to her, turning her head to see a man approach her and bow. Leona returned the bow and smiled at the man as he spoke, only to frown slightly when he asked her his question. "I'm sorry to say, but I have none to offer.." Leona replied. "The Solari have hung up their mantels of war." Leona then looked serious. "But I am here, and I will put my very life on the line to make sure everyone stays safe, that, I can promise you."

Cpl. Luz-Grimes, or 'Grimsey' as he was called by his fellow medics, and Pvt. Martin were actively looking for a place to set up their MG, when they noticed a man whose head seemed to be covered by a wide-brimmed hat and a woman dressed in bright-colored armor. They approached the two, and 'Grimsey' spoke to them.
"Hey, uh, would either of you two know of any good vantage points around the lines from which a covering line of fire can be provided?" he asked, holding the barrel of the MG over his shoulder. Martin had the ammunition box in his left hand and the tripod over his shoulder, and simply nodded along.

"Yes. I came to defend our home. " Volibear answered the Winter's Claw, dismissing her with a tone of indifference. He cared not for the petty rivalry between the sisters. In fact, the very nature of it had made the Ursine think much less of the humans back then. "I have not seen anything on my way up here.. I know they have arrived. I can smell them from north and west. The scent is getting stronger...growing. A growl escape Volibear's throat as he turned to that particular direction. A crackle can be heard from his gauntlets.
Volibear took a deep breath and calmed down, "I believe we should continue preparing your defenses. My Ursine will assist in anything you need."
Nunu stood on a ledge overlooking where the battle would hopefully take place. It would be just devastating if the Void came from the other side. He saw the Piltover Medical Corps talking about a location to lay down covering fire. The ledge would be a perfect spot for them to lay down a constant rain of bullets. He threw a snowball. "UP HERE YOU SORRY LOUTS" Nunu said, trying to sound older then he actually was... Nunu was in envy of the Piltover Medical Corps, they had a global presence at the moment. Then he shook the feeling and yelled down, "SHOOT AT THE VOID FROM UP HERE" Nunu shook his head, wondering if he was starting to act his age... 'No' Nunu thought, 'Never'

Grimsey and Martin were waiting for a response when a snowball nailed Grimsey right in the head. Recoiling backwards into the snow, he was dazed for a moment when Martin had already pulled him off the ground. Grimsey was confused temporarily.
"Oi! who threw the-" he began, but then Martin tapped his shoulder and pointed up to a ledge where what looked like a little boy and a Yeti were standing. Martin was having trouble holding back his laughter while Grimsey slowly got up and picked up the tripod and ammunition boxes he had dropped from the snowball hit.
The two made their way up to the ledge, where both Medics took a quick glimpse at the surroundings before beginning to set up the HEMG.
"Well, darn me, this is a great place for the MG," Grimsey commented, chuckling. "Say, who are you two? I'm Sergeant Luz-Grimes, 'Grimsey' for short, and this here is Private Martin." Martin rather clumsily waved his hand in response.

"A promise I have no doubt you shall keep, Leona." Rudmed replied nodded to Leona, "Hmm I see. What about Pantheon's people? Surely they would aid you if you asked. They don't seem like a group who would miss out on such a battle. Surely the very mention of battle with this group woulds stir them to battle." He said using his limited knowledge of the Pantheon's people.
"I'm Nunu, sir... And very clearly you're one of the PMC. This here is Willump, sorry about the snowball, sir." Nunu said, and then Willump grunted. "Now I have to go because Willump is hungry."
((Can we create a folder or something inside the Freljord thread that we could put this upcoming battle in. Just a folder that we put the Battle of the Winterclaw in. Sorry but it has been a thought.))

'Grimsey' nodded to Willump's answers, waving his hand at the snowball comment.
"Ay, it's nice to have something interesting like a snowball to communicate sometimes... and alright, make sure you stay alive!" he added as Nunu and Willump both left. Grimsey then turned to Martin, who was trying to fix the gun itself onto the tripod.
"Alright, let me handle this one..." he said to him, taking the gun and deftly connecting the gun to the tripod.
SGM Toye was being followed by Pvt. Simmonds as the two were surveying the defenses that surrounded the village, making note of any possible weak-points. The two wound up encountering the very same man and woman the MG crew came by just minutes ago, and so Simmonds approched the two, while the Yordle simply stayed nearby, keeping an eye on the group.
"Hello there. Mind if I ask who you two are?" Simmonds asked. ((Rudmed and Leona, that's you two.))
((And Nunu, I think there will be a different thread for the fight itself; might want to confirm with Swain, however.))
