Dunwall Estate. During the Third Rune War, the Dunwall House was a major power in the aristocratic society of Demacia. They knew Jarvan I very well, and managed to keep somewhat pleasant relations with the other houses of the time.
However, towards the end of this Rune War, Gillam Dunwall, the heir to Dunwall Estate, was pronouced MIA during deployment in Freljord. Isabelle Dunwall, distraught at this announcement, left for Freljord and never returned. Her husband, Alexander Dunwall, assumed she was dead, and died 10 years later due to natural causes.
Thus, the Dunwall lineage was lost to the ages. However, more than 150 years later, the Dunwall house would be revived. Gillam Dunwall had returned, announcing that he was frozen within a cave, and managed to stay alive until he was awakened in the present era.
Jarvan IV granted him a small amount of the land his family had once owned. This was were Gillam was now, watching the construction of his Estate. He paced around the outside yard, and couldn't wait for the building to be finished.

Having heard that a member of an esteemed noble house of old had returned after being missing for over a century, Poppy decided it would be good to visit this person. Perhaps she could learn something from an older age that could help her in improving the already good relations between Bandle City and Demacia.
Having re-scheduled meetings of the day and putting paperwork to the side, Poppy makes her way to the site of the construction of the Dunwall estate. As she arrives, she sees a man pacing around the yard. "That must be the noble" she thinks to herself and walks over, nodding at Gillam.
"Greetings. I presume you are the one I heard of. A member of a noble house of old who reappeared after being missing for over a century. I am Ambassador Poppy, representative of Bandle City here in Demacia. A pleasure to meet you."
Her pose seems quite official, despite her being in her usual armor and Whomper sitting on her back. Her expression is as it is usual, serious and stoic.

Gillam was pacing frantically. How long did it take for a manor to get built? Plus, he was also anxious about the meeting at the Insitute that would occur the next day. He was to accompany the Demacian delegation to see the modern face of Noxus.
His thoughts were interrupted by a rather deep female voice coming from behind him. After she finished talking, Gillam whirled around to be greeting by empty air. "Uhh..." The knight was clearly puzzled. He was about to ask where this ambassador was, when he looked down and saw a small, blue creature staring up at him intently. It was fully clad in armor, and it had a hammer on its back.
Gillam yelped in surprise. Reacting completely on instinct, he reached for his lance. Realizing he must of left it inside the partially constructed manor, he pulled out his spare short sword, pointing it at the creature. "What are you doing here, beast?" Gillam was about to strike, when he heard a cry of surprise from one of the workers.
"Sir Dunwall, why would you threaten Ambassador Poppy? We have peaceful relations with the yordles!" Gillam's hardened face was replaced by one of confusion. That was the ambassador? In his own era, Gillam had never seen a yordle. He had heard tales of the small folk, but didn't know that they were here in Demacia!
Realizing he still had his sword pointed at Poppy, he lowered it. "Ahem...I apologize. Things have changed since the Third Rune War." Gillam loosened his stance, becoming more relaxed. "Forgive me. I am Gillam Dunwall of Unit 226 of the Demacian Northern Campaign." Gillam extended his hand, smiling sheepishly at the ambassador.

Poppy observs Gillam's reaction calmly, not even blinking at the possible strike coming. She shakes his hand after he calms down and keeps her serious visage.
"Your reaction assumes that you have never met one of my kind before. However, 'beast' is something I've never heard from any of you humans before. Most of your kind seems to presume us as cuddly little beings to hug."
She shakes her head at the thought.
"Indeed things have changed since the Rune Wars. The League of Legends being perhaps the most major thing. It is an unusual thought that myself and the other 109 champions have faced death countless times and returned... summoners and their tricks.
Oh, and for future reference, most of my kind you meet will not share my serious and work-oriented ways. They are a lot more friendly, to a degree that could be considered breaking privacy here in Demacia. And our males have heavy amounts of fur, which makes some consider them as things such as squirrels.
Anyway... I am intrigued, you disappeared for over a century and returned. Perhaps we could talk? I could fill you in on events of recent times and tell you about myself and my kind, and you tell me something about the Demacia of the time you originate from? It could help me with making the relations between our nations even closer."

Gillam listens to the ambassador speak, still enthralled by such a being. The knight was amazed that she wasn't surprised or threatened at all by his actions. After all, he pointed a sword at her! Shouldn't she be at least a little bit nervous about that.
After Poppy was finished speaking, Gillam took a look back at the estate and sighed. Being unfrozen was taken a toll on the knight. "Yes, that would be nice. Those workers shouldn't be finished for a while anyways." Gillam started walking towards the garden, one of his memories from his past life.
"I know of the League, and the reason for its creation. Still it is hard to be at peace with one nation after you knew them as the enemy for your entire life..." Gillam sheathed his sword once again. "However, even with all of this knowledge, I am still not up to date."
"The prince has requested that I accompany him to the meeting at the Institute tomorrow. He says he wants me to see what Noxus is today, under the rule of this Jericho Swain fellow. I have known Noxus under one rule, that of Boram Darkwill. Tell me, is Noxus any different? Have they become more peaceful, or are they still the ruthless enemy I once knew them as?"

Poppy rubs her chin for a moment thoughtfully as she follows Gillam.
"It is hard to say. Darkwill's death was quite recent, and his son was decapitated after a duel with the current leader of Noxus, the Master Tactician Swain by Swain's right hand, Darius.
Their methods seem to not have changed that much, except for their alliance with Zaun, resulting in inhumane chemical weaponry being utilized. They even went as far as to shoot upon their own troops to hide a regiment's loss against Ionians when they invaded the island nation. This all would have gone unknown if one of the soldiers had not survived... Riven, the self-imposed Exile.
If I were you, I would be wary. Noxus has recently receded from the League due to an incident with a corrupted Ionian champion who attacked their border in vengeance-filled rage. Such a small matter, that it seems to me that the Tactician is planning something. Whatever Swain is planning, it is possibly dangerous. He has earned his title.
As a Demacian of old, you'll probably find my views... appealing. I am one of the only yordles to truly hate Noxus in a similar fashion as Demacians... due to my past. Then again... without what happened in my past, I would not be Ambassador and Demacia and Bandle city would probably not have such a close alliance."

"Darkwill's death was recent?" Gillam was surprised. He was frozen for a long time, and even in his era, Darkwill was rather aged. To survive that long was surely due to magic. "Well, that is certainly a testament to this strange and new Valoran I have awakened to."
Gillam paused to pick a rose from the garden. "Nevertheless, I certainly share your views against Noxus. Judging from what you have told me, their intentions remain the same. This news about the chemical weapons from Zaun is...troubling, to say the least." Gillam sniffed the rose, then continued. "Who is Riven? This person's tale intrigues me. After all, without their intelligence, you would have never know of these biological armaments..."
"No matter the era, I am Demacian, through and through."

Poppy looks up at Gillam, still keeping her usual expression.
"Riven's tale is a sad one... similar to mine in that regard. She worked for the Noxian ideals of strength from a child, training with weapons as large as herself until she could use a sword larger than a human with one hand as easily as any soldier can use a shortsword. She became a poster child of Noxian ideals, a respected soldier and worked in the military and was awarded a runic blade, larger than the average human to fit her strength. She was a part of the force that invaded Ionia and from what I've heard from what happened there...
Her regiment went to an area where a fight had occurred earlier, and trudged through a multitude of corpses, both Ionian and Noxian. When they reached the middle of the area, the corpses rose up, Ionians lying in wait. They were surrounded and outnumbered, and were certain to lose the fight, so Riven launched a flare to signal the need for reinforcements and a sign of their loss to the commanding officers back in base camp.
Then suddenly, a chemical bomb exploded in the troops, killing both Noxians and Ionians. The 'Melters' as the chemical weapons brigade was called, was truthful to their name. Riven watched as her friends died around her, feeling betrayed. Noxian ideals had told her the strong survive, but this attack made no one survive. She managed to somehow escape the scene, feeling that Noxus had been corrupted from it's ideals and broke her giant sword she was given as a sign of her exile. She now works to return Noxus back to it's original state of strength instead of such low methods as the Melters."

Gillam remained silent as Poppy recounted the tale of Riven. After she was finished, Gillam said nothing, staring at the rose he held in his hand. After what seemed like an eon of silence, Gillam discarded the rose, and turned to face the ambassador.
"That is a really inspiring story, I must say. Noxians are the enemy, and as a soldier of Demacia, my duty in war is to slay the enemy when it threatens us. However, Riven is an example portraying that not all Noxians are the cruel, cold blooded killing machines that my commanding officers described them as. Riven seems like a loyal soldier that strives to make Noxus more honorable, and I admire that."
Gillam looked over to the estate, which was still dreadfully unconstructed, then back to Poppy. "I will go to the meeting tomorrow keeping that fact in mind. Noxus still seems like a place of evil, both in my era, and in yours. However, Riven is a testament to the fact that you should never judge a book by its cover. "The cover of Noxus may be written with terrible penmanship, but inside, some of its text may still be legible."
Gillam smiled at the analogy that he had produced, then gestures to Poppy. "Come. It is getting late, and if my estate isn't finished, I might as well have to sleep in the courtyard!" Gillam's voice raised in volume at the last part of that sentence, just to make sure the workers got his point. He then began strolling back towards the unfinished estate.
"No matter the era, I am Demacian, through and through."

Poppy keeps following Gillam, constantly keeping up her serious visage.
"Indeed... there is some hope within Noxus. But... as long as they utilize honorless assassins, I will not have anything to do with them outside of combat. If you wish to know why, I'll have to tell another tale... one of my past."
She carefully pulls Whomper from her back, holding the hammer that would seem massive compared to her quite easily with one hand.
"Some say it is inspiring as well... but I find nothing but sadness... sadness and death in it."
Post by Gillam Dunwall on Feb 3, 2013 1:18:40 GMT -5
Gillam could see the pain in the ambassador's eyes. "I understand. If it is something that is tough for you to share, then don't feel forced to tell me." Gillam seemed distant as he spoke the next few words. "Pain...it is a feeling shared by many, but everyone has their own reason for feeling it."
Gillam's eyes became slightly watered, but he did not shed any tears. "My reason? I live in a different Valoran now. Everything has changed. Everyone I knew from my past life. My friends...my family...they are lost to the ages."
Gillam's eyes glinted in the night sky. "What keeps me going? I don't believe in coincidence. Everything that occurs must have a reason for actually happening." The supposed tears were gone, but Gillam still had a wistful look in his eyes. "Thee was a reason for me being unfrozen from that cave. This era may not be mine, but I intend to make a difference in it."
"No matter the era, I am Demacian, through and through."

Poppy shakes her head.
"Tough to share? Not so much. Tough to live with? More like that.
My past...
Years ago, while I was still a child, I was happily living in Bandle City with my father, the best blacksmith the City had seen in generations. He found out I had a talent for his craft and honed my skills. This hammer here... Whomper, is his old smithing hammer. It's shape is a bit odd, but both him and I could work with it perfectly. My father's skill was so great that a general here in Demacia named Florin Berell commissioned a helm, glorious beyond comparison from him. We worked on it together, and my father even let me place the center jewel, the most important part of the whole helm.
However... the delivery did not go smoothly. On the path to Demacia, we were ambushed by assassins. Sent by the Noxian High Command to stop the delivery. My father handed me the helmet and told me to run... finish the delivery. I made it to the bushes nearby, using my small size to stay hidden and... had to watch my father be murdered. For what? Creating a helmet? Such are the Noxian ways it seems...
Anyway, I traveled towards Demacia, stopping by a statue I would later find out to be a creation of a master artificer, and a live being. He is now known as Galio, the Sentinel's Sorrow. A proud stone protector of Demacia. Apparently my determination reminded him of his fallen creator and inspired him to move from his remains where he had stood in silent vigil for ages. I reached Demacia unknowing of him. I delivered the helm to general Berell, demanding to be given no reward, because no reward would be even close to being worth my loss. The general saw determination behind my tears from what I hear... and demanded that the leaders Bandle City appoint me as the Yordle Ambassador to Demacia.
A short while later... having created the armor you see me wearing now, I volunteered for the League of Legends with one intention. Crushing Noxus with my father's hammer for what they had done.
Such.... is my past."
She sighs, shaking her head. Despite telling such a tale of grief, her expression still kept it's usual seriousness, hiding the sadness inside her mind.
"Hah... the Noxians had no idea what they caused that day. They tried to stop a delivery for a general of their enemy, but instead brought their enemy together with a new ally and created what I have become. Perhaps a bit ironic, isn't it?"
Post by Gillam Dunwall on Feb 3, 2013 14:20:25 GMT -5
"I see... Noxus...they kill for petty things. One helmet made by a blacksmith is important enough for them to kill an innocent man. The chemical weapons...your father... withdrawing from the League which helped stop bloodshed between them and us...Noxus has not changed at all."
Gillam was about to continue, when a worker interrupted him. "Sir Dunwall! The manor is just about finished." Gillam nodded to the worker, then turned to face Poppy. "Thank you for your time, ambassador. I want to know today's Demacia better, and you helped me with that." The knight bowed. "I assume I will see you at the meeting tomorrow. Until then, farewell." Gillam turned around, then headed inside the manor, finally pleased with the craftsmen for finishing the building.
"No matter the era, I am Demacian, through and through."

Victus had been waiting for word to reach him from the prince that he was to go to Bandle City, but his...'clan', House Brightblade, requested that he perform a simple mission. Dunwall. He was to learn of this time forgotten warrior, and report back to his house. Nothing malicious was intended, but there was no trust in this resurrected house. Victus was being sent to see if there was a chance to build it.
Victus would approach the doorway and knock three times, awaiting entry.
