Some forests of eastern Ionia always had a strange rhythm. It had a calm, enigma pattern that seems correct around those that wondered about for a few minutes. The sun was mulled by the heavy clouds above the thin foliage. The heavier clouds loom along the ground. creating a haze both mythical and calming. Though these feelings come at the price that danger is more concealed than the fascination.
Aimi was sitting in the mist of this empty location. The tail of her doctor coat spread behind her, and a violet ninja garb was underneath the opened coat. She straightens her posture once more, letting out a breath as she did. Her mind was going elsewhere and everywhere with each deep breath she took, slower and deeper.
On her right side of the mist pushed away while her left side drew the fog closer. The cold, lingering moisture pooling on left side of her clothes did not seem to faze her and break her concentration. She felt both energies actively collecting within her and nothing should interrupt her goal so far.
Her eyes were closed. She could not see the faint mixture of energy though her concentration. An observer could see the energy flowing out of the woman. The right side of her was bright and hazy. Her left was dark and ominous. Only in her mind’s eye, she realized that what she was trying to do was working…at least for now.
However, this was not even half of what she trying to achieve. Her student was due to join her here soon, but should she attempt it? If so, it could be one more out of many failures, but still...she must persist.

Daichi had taken initiative in order to expand his own capabilities, despite being skilled in his craft he was lacking in one thing he felt was important (although in his opinion it could be easily substituted but to neglect it entirely would be unforgivable.) As requested the Ionian made his way out to an area not far from the Sunumi residence and onto their designated meeting place. When he stepped into view, he paused.
Aimi appeared to be in the midst of something important and he felt it would be unwise to interrupt her now, for now Daichi would wait and watch. There was no doubt in his mind it had to do with balancing some sort of inner energy.

Both energies flared up within her. Aimi could feel the tug in her mind. Her compassion, her aggression....one idea with its opposite. The concept felt similar to the fight between a good and evil conscious. The destroying darkness and healing light became more visible for Daichi to see. Both energy were bound apart at the base of her forehead. So far, she can only manage to project them around, but using them and make them work together in harmony within the user...that was the final challenge of the Ken-Sou master.
There was another tug on her mind. A familiar presence nearby didn't alarm her, but she couldn't focus on proceeding any further out of fear. She knew the dangerous aspect of her Ki art, and did not wish to harm anyone over her ambitious.
She took a deep breath, as the surrounding energy was slowly drawn back inside her body. The aura vanished, and Aimi's eyes opened to find Daichi watching her.

“I’m sorry to have kept you waiting, there were some unavoidable complications on my end that delayed me. I arrived here as fast as I could. I sincerely hope you can forgive me for arriving late.” He gave a slight smile, believing she pardon it. It looked as though she had been busy with something in the meanwhile.
“It seems you found something to do in the meanwhile, what was that display? I didn’t break your concentration by arriving did I?” He’d feel a tinge of guilt of such was the case, it was an impressive display. He wondered if she would have him work on doing the same.

"No, but it's too dangerous to continue while someone was near me. Many times I have brought my energy around, but many times that one side tries to overwhelm me. The constant dance between the two can caused some... collateral damage." Aimi answered, taking in a deep breath.
She opened her eyes at Daichi, pushing her body out of meditative posture. The leaves broke with an audible crunch underneath her boots.
"I assumed that despite your punctuality, you're ready to learn the another step in using your own energy?"

“I understand collateral damage…when I was younger I accidentally froze myself to the ground. It wasn’t severe but you can imagine the embarrassment.” He rubbed the back of his head as he approached. “And yes. You would be correct. I’m ready to begin the next step if you are.”
Unlike most Kinkou, Daichi had relied far more upon mana rather than his own Ki to perform his magic and ability. The two were similar and interchangeable, but once again he considered it unacceptable to neglect one over the other. It would be like pulling teeth but sometimes those teeth needed to be pulled to make room to grow.

"In one incident, I accidentally destroyed two great trees behind me in this forest, in my case." She chuckled, letting the summoner draw the obvious conclusion from there.
"The first day, I introduced you to Ki...your inner energy. From spirit and body...it can interact with your body to make you inhumanly fast, moments of powerful strength. You can use it to interact with the environment to a certain effect. " Her cupped hand sway along the mist looming along the forest floor. She held it out to him as a mist stirred within the boundaries of her hand, as if held by an unseen force.
"You can imagine why I told you to come today. I'm glad that the weather came as planned." The clouds getting more murky, and the air was heavy with moisture.

Indeed, the conclusion was obvious and somewhat frighteningly. Daichi had never been that close to disaster during his own training.
“…What was it you had planned for today Miss Sunumi?” Daichi was curious. Moisture made it a great deal more interesting to train with rather than a dryer area. It meant he could put forth less effort and have much more freedom with how he chose to cast.
“I know of Ki and the inner energy before our first lesson. It is not foreign to me, just harder to grasp.

"Then you're going to love this. I hope you have been practicing, because...." Aimi paused and thought for a moment. The boy has not been training his energy as well as she would have liked. Of course, studying one's own inner energy takes more than just days. Mastering it at a wavelength that using Ki as naturally as breathing...is another matter entirely. "It takes focus to be aware of you own energy, Daichi. Eventually, eventually you will find the flow within your spirit and mind. Once you are aware of this...."
The swirling fog in her hand started to slow. A white rim formed along the cup of her hand, as tiny ice crystals crusted on her skin. "Something like this is possible...though I assumed you would like to make such a thing in the same manner as your magic. Let this fog will be your gauge...your grader. You must first establish your Ki..."

Daichi took a deep breath. “…It’s second nature for me to want to tap into my mana. To use that instead. Such a task would be easy enough with it, but that is not why I’m here.” He reminded himself quietly, Aimi would likely here his own musings as he tried to focus. It was a matter of remembering what he knew and what Aimi had been teaching.
“…Establish first. Focus.” He reminded himself. It was like looking for something he had since lost, digging through more or less of the same. “Please. Remind me the difference between the two. Ki and Mana, what makes them different?” He was having difficulty but it was clear that Daichi was putting an earnest effort in, maybe it would give him that little push.

Aimi sighed. This was her first time in a long time teaching someone. "Mana is the energy that you borrow from this world, from the environment. People can manipulate this energy into various things, but usually requires a conduit. Regeneration of mana is also difficult in the body due to the fact that most living things are not meant to gather such energy in their bodies. Basically, mana potions temporary tricks your body in such a manner that the body takes in more mana...It's rather complicated to explain the chemistry behind it. "
"Like I said before, Ki is something you draw from within yourself: Body, Mind, Spirit...Though the body can hold so much Ki at once, but Ki replenishes itself quickly. . ." Aimi paused for a moment, making sure that Daichi was listening to her words.

Daichi nodded and took the advice to heart. He was drawing towards outside forces too much it seemed. With a little bit more focus and a little more time he eventually began to chill the air around his hands which he had since interlocked together. A small smile began to creep across his face as he felt the slight change. He broke a sweat as he did so; it was quite interesting to feel. It was very much so like reteaching himself how to cast, how to manipulate the energy around him (But instead he was manipulating his inner energy).

"Focus. Careful not to use so much at once. You can feel when you need to let yourself rest."
Aimi nodded, her face lit with approval. As she walked around the clearing. The cicada(s) made a time rhythm of buzzing in the distant. Kaede was also quiet as well. It was quite comforting to have time where nothing threatening is going on.
"This fog is nothing more than pieces of water so small and so far apart that they hover. Ice is nothing more than pieces of water brought together and made to be still." She mused, with a hidden hint in her tone.

“I would certainly hope I know what fog is as well as what Ice is. After all Miss Sunumi, the cold is something I’m very well acquainted with. You should know this after I spent 12 hours in your freezer on the first day I arrived.” He retorted and focused a little harder, falling silently entirely as he gazed intently at his hands.
The air around began to physically crystallize, the water turning to ice and then falling slowly as it grew heavy. Daichi took several deep breaths as he continued his focus before stopping. This was the best he could do… It was disappointing, but maybe after a break he’d give it another go. The young Ionian frowned. With Mana, it was like swimming through water. With Ki, it was akin to sludge.

Aimi observed carefully, looking not at him. Her eyes could see beyond that. There was something strange. Hesitation, perhaps? The sense of obligation was there, but there was something blocking it.
"Daichi, stop..." From behind, Her hand pressed firmly against his shoulder, using a little bit of her Ki into his pressure point to stop him. When she had his attention, her eyes narrowed. " Aside from your need to work on your physical body, I sense more or less a hesitation in you. It's blocking your will as well as your energy...." The woman closed her eyes, thinking carefully. "I understand your need and desire to get stronger, but I haven't figure out the why yet.
She sat down in front of him. " What I'm saying is...you need a focus. A direction for this training. Who knows, I might help you create something new out of it." She smiled slyly.
