“Next up, a trio of Harlequins and gypsy girls, culled from bandits lurking in the dead lands.”
Caerys saw that these three were younger than her; judging from their lack of markings, they’d just begun their pilgrimage. That they would join with bandits was understandable, and perhaps today’s encounter was fated. She joined the auctions as it was underway.
“Bidding for each girl begins at 500... 550... 600! Do I hear 650... 750...” The auctioneer started it off, run of the mill nobles bidding for them as though they were livestock.
“1000.” Caerys called out, causing a brief pause. She was almost flattered at her own value now, compared to fresh slaves.
“I hear 1000.... 1,100... 1,200... 1,400...” The auctioneer picked up the pace, and continued.
“2,000!” Caerys called out again, now silencing her competiton.
“2000? For bandit-spoiled girls? Ugh, too rich for my blood.” Some nobles murmured, then agreed. The auctioneer, appearing no different than any other merchant at market, approached Caerys.
“May I have your name then, miss, and how you shall pay?” He asked, curious.
“These jewels are worth at least twice what I bid.” Caerys responded, taking off her bracelets.
“Aaaah! Very interesting. And who shall I make the receipt out to?” The man weighed the jewels, noting their manufacturer.
“Lady Monteclaire. I am here on her behalf.” Caerys said, the name bringing a smile to the auctioneer’s face.
“Ah! The Mistress of the arena herself. Shall I prepare an inspection?” The man offered again.
“I will... inspect them myself.” Vermilion said, with conviction. Now was the hard part.

Singed watched amused as the girl desperately pushed in order to obtain the other girls freedom. Fellow gypsies seeing her reaction the biding continued for a few moments until Vermillion offered 2000 valorans. After the weight of the jewels Singed step up “My dear if you needed the money you could have nicely asked for it I will give it to you I can’t let you give this” He said taking the bracelet from the bidder hands. “for less than half its price” he said instead putting 200 silver counts her hands.
"2,000 EACH, my dear Singed." She corrected him, returning the insufficient funds. She kept her composure, and presented the slave merchants with an aloof smile; they all move aside to let her pass. She went to the inspection area, a low pit where the buyers can literally look down on their purchases or come down for a closer inspection.
She watched with little surprise as the three girls finally acted as the shears were being brought out- they would not be deprived of their dignity for this woman! Their manacles were unlocked- likely picked open- and they begin attacking the slavers in the pit with them. She knew most girls would rather die than be taken- a naive attitude she quickly lost when her lifeblood was escaping her gut. She wanted to spare them this horrific experience, but also did not wish to seem compassionate.
The market guards were about to fire upon the girls with crossbows, but Caerys called them out to halt. "STOP! I will not have my goods damaged on the first day! I will handle this."
She descended into the pit, seeing them strangling one market worker while stabbing another with their own clothes shears. This was the moment Caerys waited for, to see them eye to eye.
"...You won't take us alive, Noxian Bitch!" They threatened, the young girls wielding manacles and shears as improvised weapons, their once colorful gypsy clothes in tatters. Their hatred of this country- and the woman before them came as a surprise really. Here she was with sister gypsies, most likely cousins, and yet they could not see Caerys. They could only see a Noxian oppressor.
"It's not your choice dears..." she said, entering a combat stance, unarmed.

Singed just added the 4,000 valorans to it and negotiated with the slave merchants about the bracelet after that he just observed Vermillion. Those were obviously gypsies maybe from the same place? Did they knew her before her entering Noxus? They didn’t seem to recognize her but she seemed concerned about them at least enough to risk injuring herself. He just stood there observing as the even developed in front of him.
Caerys thought it strange. A year ago She had thought the battle dance of her troupe's Dervishes was an unbeatable fighting style; now, she could see the gaps in their technique, as well as their lack of fitness and experience. They had tested it with the bandits, but such a group could only fight no more than a few times a month. With battle a daily routine for Caerys, the girls seemed to move in slow motion to her.
The fight moved at a quick pace, all the girls pushing for speed. Caerys tossed one gypsy into another, busying them with recovering as she delivered a beat down to the one standing, tripping her and bringing her to her knees. She put an end to the fight quickly when she held the girl's head in a sleeper hold.
" You girls have alot to learn before calling yourselves warriors. Surrender or I snap her neck." She threatened, frightfully sincere in how she could do so. The two gypsy girls, all of them likely to be bond mates, surrendered, and were promptly collared... their hope had been extinguished, but Caerys would have something else in mind for them. The crowd applauded the display of martial pragmatism, and how quickly she exploited their weaknesses to bring them to heel.
She had them all kneel before her, so that she could be more convincing. She slapped each girl across the face audibly, drawing laughter from the crowd. "Insolent children! calling yourselves warriors and bandits. You will learn here... in Noxus... strength above all is the measure of an individual." She said, the words given to her by Sylvia, she now echoed. One of the gypsy girls started crying, pleading to be let go.
"Now... you three will be slaves. And you will learn.... humility." She walked all around them, a vicious and aloof smile on her face, as she glanced at Singed for a moment. She stroked their exposed shoulders and glided her fingers on their cheeks, to establish dominance. The crowd called for the girls to be sent to brothels or such, but Caerys's presence- her performance- silenced the crowd.
"Now... what shall I do with you three." She asked, as she was handed their collar controller.

Singed watched as Vermillion dominated the young slaves on battle and the crowd with her charisma. “You know we have places to go we have to get parting now you can decide what to do with them on the way.” Said Singed giving her a way out of the crow to drop her façade inside the carriage or to let them go on the woods or something. But hey needed to get out of there first.
"Just give me a minute!" She said, wanting Singed to be a bit patient.
"...Noxian bitch. You'll pay for this." The gypsies said.
"Tut tut. That is hardly a proper way to address your mistress..." She leaned in closer. “And a sister.”
“What are you talking...” They barked back in confusion, still on their knees.
“I said MISTRESS.” She slapped the slave across the face again, using it as a ruse to conceal the collar control. She wrapped it in a handkerchief and places a moon emblem- the symbol of the Scarlet Queen- their goddess on the package.
“As your Mistress, your first task will be to make a delivery to my home outside the city. I have not been there awhile; I want them to know I am well. Defy me, and you will die a most painful death. Do you understand?” They looked at her dumbfounded.
“Yes... Mistress.” They looked at Caerys in new light, a look of startled revelation on their faces. With this, no Noxian guard would stop them as they performed their appointed task as slaves. They would be free... and be far and away from Noxus post haste.
