Two pinches of iron. 97. 1800 hours.
[/b][/center]
A winter wind rustled the grasses of the southern Ionian countryside. It seemed to carry a whisper, a rumor, a word: attack. A young messenger sped through the swishing grass, its heathers whipping by his geta. He ran so quickly down the hill that he slipped upon the gravel at its base, fell into a tumble, skidding to a halt upon his bare knees. They stung, but adrenaline pushed him on--desperation pushed him on. He drew near the Hadoi Village, panting, drenched in sweat despite the chilled oceanbreeze.
Even through the tall grass, the watchers saw him approach. “You there!” called a man in the traditional sugegasa (菅笠.) He lifted his chin, the better to observe the boy from beneath the brim of his straw hat. When the watchman's eyes fell upon the intensity in the younger man's, they widened. The messenger was pale, trembling from head to toe. His knees trickled blood down his shins. In an instant, the boy lurched forward; the guard recoiled, but not quickly enough. The boy clung onto the arm he had raised in defense, looked pleadingly up into his eyes.
“Zed,” he panted. “The Order of Shadow—they want to wipe us all out.”
The guardsman knit his brows in an indignant scowl. Perhaps it was pride that led him to believe his village, of all the villages surrounding the Temple of Shadow's feudal lands, was immune to the threat that now loomed over them. The Order had been recruiting more ambitiously the past month. And now, perhaps, the Hadoi Village knew why. “We will not fall to the Master of Shadows,” he proclaimed, more to himself than the boy. “How long do we have?”
Finally catching his breath, the boy righted himself, released the sentinel's arm and shook his head,.“Only hours,” he reported gravely.
The watchman bellowed up to his fellows, “The Order of Shadows believes it has a foothold in these lands! Pah! We will crush the shadow order underfoot! Gather your men! Have the village take up arms!” Some residents of the forward-village peeked out from their huts, curious, apprehensive. The shouting of threatened warriors shattered the peaceful winter evening. “The greatest defense lies in the greatest offense! So we will strike Zed down before he has made his move!” And so the Hadoi prepared to do so.
Among the crowd stood two figures, unremarkable from the surrounding Ionians but for their regal demeanor: a man and a woman, present to ensure that everything went according to plan, that every aspect of the endeavor was executed with precision.

The sun cast a deep red upon the land and sky as it crested the horizon. Shadows were long and deep, controlling almost all, this was the time they were most powerful. They moved and seemed to come alive around the old Kinkou Temple, now home to the Order of Shadows. The ninety-seven guards stood around and in the temple grounds, watching for danger. However, they were relaxed, tonight was meant to be another quiet night, they had no idea of the bloodshed to come. These guards were inexperienced or slow learning, some of them would simply be against the thought of the coming alliance. They were chosen especially for this night, there lives would be sacrificed for the benefit of the Order, a noble cause to die for. It would be a slaughter.
Zed himself stood atop his tree, near the center of the grounds. He watched the sun set, a deep frown upon his face. He did not like the idea of losing almost one hundred of his ninjas, but it would gain him an ally and it's military backing. Being allies with Noxus would be very beneficial for the Order, for Zed. However first a reason needed to be created for such a joint force, the Order needed to be hurt and need assistance. Zed had pinched the iron in the marks himself, making sure to take great care, better to do it himself then for someone to ruin everything rather than a fight.
A surprise was in order for a certain someone, someone the Master of Shadows cared for, but needed to train. He dropped to the ground, ignoring all the ninjas destined to die, they were already dead to him. The rest had been sent on missions or were working on a backup camp in the far distance, a task for the simple reason to keep them away from the temple. He slowly formed a portal before him, hissing came from within but Zed did not hesitate to enter it. There was no reason for him to be here but he would return, with another in tow.
"It is time for the Order to truly grow." He muttered to himself before disappearing into the dark.
Shadow people follow him everywhere he goes. Looking over his shoulder, the paranoia flows.

The woman looked about, dressed in the traditional civilian clothing of an Ionian woman. She walked about the village, hands folded atop one another. Through the reflection in a puddle of water would reveal her true self, this was quickly dispersed.
The thoughts of the ninjas and the villagers started to twist, to change. They truly believed that the Order of the Shadows had to be attacked, taken out, that they needed to make the preemptive strike.
More importantly, the clan leader had issued the command himself...right?
Within his home, the homely Ionian woman stepped in and bowed towards the ninja master. With a light smile, a blaze of magic, the leader of the Hadoi village walked out of his home, dressed in his war gear.
The Order of Shadow were a threat. Better to strike now, when they least expect it, rather than when they become a true threat. The Kinkou be damned, they were letting the Balance shift under their own noses and have done nothing. Kill or be killed.
Once the ninjas assembled, they took off into the trees, knowing their destination. Today would be a slaughter.
The Ionian woman hummed to herself as she walked towards a wall, motioning to the Ionian man that accompanied her. A single step propelled her, and her companion, directly beside the ninja army on the run. Each casual step she took easily kept pace with them, no matter how fast they ran, and if any of them looked in her or her companion's direction, they would only see foliage in their place.

The man would walk beside the woman, keeping up with the speeding army. He wasn't sure how this was being done, but knew his question would not be answered if he asked. So he walked, walked alongside her until the army approached the Order of the Shadow's temple. It was there he sensed the ninety-seven shadow warriors. As he took a breathe, he could nearly smell it in the air, in their blood. The ninety-seven that would die today had unnaturally high levels of iron in their circulatory system. Soon, however, it would be the ground that would have this unnatural iron. The battle at the temple, would soon begin.

As the army would draw closer the world around them would feel darker and darker, the shadows had a mind of their own here now. They twisted and flicked and writhed around, giving an eery sense to the entire area. They soon reported to some of the more adept marks, telling them of the coming assault. A silent alarm of shadows moved through the temple, informing each and everyone of the marks of the coming battle. The 97 were prepared now, a storm was brewing.
Armed in an incredibly short time the ninjas took up places upon roofs and walls, waiting for the approaching army. They were still the weaker of the group and would be crushed with only less than average effort. Still, they would try to protect the temple with their lives.
A portal again formed, this time near the front facing the army, it was out of sight of the ninjas. This time Zed came through with Kuromei, who he held roughly by the neck of her clothes. A quick shove and she would tumble forward, "There will be 97 dead men and women tonight, you make 98, let's see if you can be the one who lives." He growled at her. With that he stepped into the portal again, leaving kuromei to her fate, unknowing that a certain man in the assault could have a devastating effect on her. She was alone other than the ninjas who were prepped for battle.
Even the shadows would have trouble keeping her safe.
Shadow people follow him everywhere he goes. Looking over his shoulder, the paranoia flows.
This whole thing had become an incredibly sobering experience. The rich scent of alcohol lingered on the sky pirate as she went tumbling forward from the shove. She'd stagger, and fell against the ground coating herself lightly in the dust that covered it. As she would rise up, she'd look confused back at Zed, "What?" As the shadow ninja disappeared back through a portal, Sky quickly pat herself down and glared back in the direction of the temple.
"Fucking asshole." She muttered as she started to casually walk off, sliding her hand into her coat to withdraw a sake' flask and take a swig, ". . .stupid bastard. No fucking way I'm fighting for him."

The Hadoi village was on the offense. The Order of Shadow ninja walking about could barely react to the volley of arrows that pierced eighteen of their chests. The rest of the Hadoi clan rushed out from the trees, bearing down at the remaining ninjas.
Seventy nine, against two hundred and five.
The Ionian woman watched from afar, she could guess that despite the surprise attack, one member of the Order of Shadow could at least take out two of these Hadoi dogs. Both sides would have to have casualties in order to be believable, after all. She tapped the Ionian man, whispered to him about him ensuring nothing goes wrong, and she disappeared.
--------------------------------------
At the Hadoi village, three members of the Order of Shadows slipped in. They walked around the deserted village, knowing their most capable warriors had left.
But, truth be told, they were only a few pawns, lambs, meant to be slaughtered. The Ionian woman shrieked and pointed at them, screaming that they're coming. A knife flew out, piercing her throat. She gurgled, attempting to stem the spurting jets of blood, and fell to the ground. The other women, and some of the younger men and boys of the village rushed out of their homes, weapons readied.
Staring at her own corpse from the parapets of the village, the Ionian woman rested her head on her palm and watched to make sure that her precious roses were used accordingly.

The Ionian man nodded and watched as her companion disappeared in what seemed to be thin air. He watched as the blood shed began, first blood being taken by the invading clan. It seemed like a very evenly matched battle, maybe his presence here was unneeded. He sat, still under the camouflage ability that hid him from sight. Awaiting for one side to get the upper-hand, he sat, in boredom.

The ninjas put up more of a fight than originally intended, the villagers weren't the best combatants and only had numbers to their advantage. They fought with vigor, they believed that the Order was actually under serious threat, they would give their lives to protect it, and maybe receive Zed's gratitude.
Shadows swirled around Kuromei, they seemed angered at the disrespect shown to Zed. Eyes as red as blood slowly appeared and formed a body, Zed again appeared, sliding upwards out of the shadows. A hand shot out and clenched Kuromei by her throat, squeezing down on it. He lifted the small woman off the ground, anger clearly seeping out of him, "You are my student! My subordinate! You will respect me, my orders, and your superiors without question! I am growing weary of you Kuromei, do not make me regret saving you!" Yelled Zed. With that he gave a final squeeze and dropped her to the ground, "You will fight in this battle, you will protect the order, consider this a punishment for your actions. The men out there will attempt to kill you, you will kill them in return, you will kill at least 5 men tonight, the shadows will be watching and I will know if you don't follow the order. Your life is forfeit should you not carry this task out. Is that understood!?" Zed was dead serious in his threats, the games were over, it was time for Kuromei to get serious or die.

As the shadows warped and swayed, Sky slowly turned back with a growing frown. Had he heard her? This wasn't good! She couldn't react in time as his hand shot out to grasp her throat, and the feeling of her feet leaving the ground made her ever more aware of her mortality. Her hands reached up to grab at his wrist as she choked noisily from the tight hold on her neck. Her eyes staring forward at the angry red orbs that illuminated from his eyes.
As she felt his grip tighten, she started to panic all the more before feeling herself falling and harshly impacting against the ground. Coughing, and gasping for breath, Sky reached her hand up to cover her neck as she looked wearily up at Zed.
"I-" Cough, "Hate.. you.." She managed to say. Even a twitch from the angry ninja would cause her to cowar at this point. She knew what this meant, and she'd learned the limit of his patience. Slowly Sky rose back to her feet, dusting herself off as the sounds of baffle echoed behind her. Her features became grim, pulling the hood up over her head to better hide her features. A raspy breath, and a scratchy voice would likely burden her for a short bit after he had grabbed her throat. She might have mouthed off, but she had no interest in being killed.
"What?" She asked, her expression darkening, "I'm not a murderer." She protested, but quickly took a step back as those hateful violets lingered upon him. Without another word, she turned and raced off towards the battle keeping to the shadows like she had been trained to do. Her fingers clenched at a few various origami, producing a duplicate shadow clone of the more vital ones that may ultimately save her skin, or complete the task at hand.

Zed glared at his apprentice as she ran, she was afraid of him, he could not earn her respect so he would force her to fear his every move. he did not want to be a hated master but he needed absolute co-operation and if that meant violence then so be it. With a quick motion of his arms he was gone, the shadows had again consumed him and he lurked around the battlefield, hiding in the darkness.
The Order of Shadow was actually starting to take a fair advantage, and would press it especially if Sky did as she was told. An intervention was required at this point, else the plan would fail. Although that could mean a gesture of strength for the Order, Zed wanted Noxian support, which meant his ninjas would have to lose. He hoped that Swain had done something to make sure the battle went the right way, for now, he would watch. Silently and without action.
Shadow people follow him everywhere he goes. Looking over his shoulder, the paranoia flows.
Sky listened for the battles and scouted about, searching for those who might have strayed or tried to go around another path to find a way in. A grim look was set upon her features, concealed by the darkness that settled over her form. The task at hand sat at the tip of her mind, but her hatred for Zed would linger ever deeper as she watched various Ninja cut down what appeared to be villagers. A scowl set on her visage as she watched.
You want me to murder innocent people. Look at them! They're terrified and angry. Sky thought to herself. She set a dragon origami down a slender trail for anyone not of the Order to potentially trigger.
I have to kill these people? For what? This is stupid.. Sky continued to think quietly, moving towards another narrow trail. She stopped at the sound of footsteps nearing her position, letting the darkness of the area obscure her from view. A pair of two villagers were trying to sneak around to get behind some of the Shadow Order's ninjas. Reluctantly Sky activated her monkey origami, allowing her to more easily climb the trees and gain a quicker vantage point. She watched them silently for a bit, tucking the origami back within the coat before withdrawing a set of two origami stars.
Damn you, Zed. I swear I'll destroy you for making me do this. As the two men walked beneath her, she sent the two paper origami stars towards their heads allowing them to activate mid-flight. The ninja stars morphed quickly, one embedding into the back of one man's head, the other severing an artery in the other man's neck as it flew passed. As the two men dropped to the ground, Sky waited a moment to see if more might come.

Vladimir grinned as it seemed as though the shadow ninjas were getting the upper-hand in this, it looks like the fun would finally begin. "It seems like i'm going to have to turn the tides of blood. hahaha..."
He stood now, trying looking at the battlefield in front of him. Raising his hands, some soldiers on the battlefield would feel themselves lose control of their bodies. To the shadow ninja's it would only appear that the civilian turned warriors were no longer afraid of death, continuing to fight even after being stabbed, or even losing a body part. Upon closer inspection however, some of the fighting soldiers had faded in to unconsciousness and were forced to continue fighting, thanks to the hemomancer's masterful craft.
Suddenly, he felt something, a very similiar pulse pattern entered the battlefield, from what seemed to be out of no where. He couldn't figure out exactly who it was, but whoever it was, they were killing more of "his" soldiers than the average ninja. If she entered the blood lord's field of vision, she would soon find out the forces had a new prime target.
Zen sneaked in to the Hadoi village quietly, using the buildings' shadows to hide himself effectively. He needed to scout the area for any signs for trouble. There was no room for error, as he simply couldn't let his master down. He presumed the village would be ok, as the village hasn't faced any threats from the Order in well.... They never did actually, so is the Order doing something now? The villagers are prepared though, he's sure they would've done something about defensive... Measurements...
Oh no.... No no no... He saw three ninja strike down an Ionian woman, covering his own mouth at the sight. Why would they leave their own village open like this!? He had to do something, he had to! Though he would be outnumbered and taken down in seconds. He hugged the wall and stayed out of sight, before climbing up the wall and into the rooftop. He still stayed out of sight for the ninja to see him. Once they began moving again, he'll follow closely behind.
Sky kept to the darkness to conceal herself as much as she could. Going out in the middle of view was not how she had been trained to fight, and thus would remain inconspicuous through the battle. She had all of three left to kill, and she had absolutely no intention of remaining beyond that quota.
As she crept through the underbrush of the trees, she watched as some of the villagers seemed to keep going despite their injuries. Odd. Normal citizens wouldn't have the stamina to accomplish this. Something was certainly afoot. Ethereal violets narrowed as she set down more of her traps. A snake origami, which she'd drop across a path as she darted between the trees, and a spider origami a few feet to the right of it suspecting they would skirt around whoever might become entangled by the anaconda when it was triggered.
I am not some pawn you pathetic piece of shit. I'm not a god damn murderer. This isn't even my fight. Every man I'm forced to kill, is another that makes me want to kill you even more. Sky thought to herself.
She ducked down into the brush beneath another tree, and waited for the unsuspecting villagers to walk across her traps. A group of five had caught a twitch of movement, and were coming to investigate. A man at the front would be the first to misstep, finding himself entangled in the constricting coils of a large anaconda. Its fangs bared, and latched upon the man's face as its body entangled itself violently around him. The other four more stepped back in shock, one circling around trying to find a way to save his friend.
As predicted, he would set off the spider. A small, insignificant little thing would crawl onto the man's leg and bite down, injecting the terrible venom into his blood. It would take him far longer to fall to its sickness, but as the skin grew purple where it bit, his body would begin to seize and collapse to the ground. The other three looked horrified, and scattered being made quick work of by other Shadow Order Ninjas.
Sky hated every bit of this. She crept off further, counting down the people she had to kill. Her mistake was she didn't stick around to ensure these last two deaths. Confident in her origami magic, she went on believing their lives had been forfeit.
