"Hah... I'll try and not hit hard enough that they would require medical care. And I would prefer just starting. Pleasantries can be done afterwards without issue after all."
Poppy stretches her neck and gets into a prepared stance, waiting for the "Bull Ring" to begin. Hopefully, she would be able to limit her punches enough to not break someone's jaw by accident, but tmie would tell.

"Alright, Suit yourself." The Senior looked over the ring, and then called out "How about we start with... Ellie!" From behind Poppy, a yordle rushed in and threw a punch aimed at her neck.

Poppy doesn't seem to react to the shout and merely takes the punch, looking as if she didn't even feel it. She then quickly elbows behind her, and unless the yordle behind her were to dodge, it would hit the yordle in the chest hard enough to get the air out of the yordle's lungs.

((Just a second, what shout?)) Ellie recoiled from the practically useless punch, taking a step back to dodge the counterattack. Obviously, a new tactic was necesary. "Sure are resilient, but..." She would have to disrupt Poppy's balance. There were only 2 yordle lengths behind her though. She would try to keep behind Poppy, by dashing as soon as she turned. Dizzy yordles fell quicker, after all.

((Ignore that, I was tired when I wrote that one.))
Poppy looks over her shoulder as she turns, seeing that the commando keeps moving around her. Amusing... yet smart.
Poppy makes a sharp turn to the left, expecting the commando to try and run behind her again as she quickly swings her right foot in the opposite direction to try and kick the commando as she tries to circle around her.

Ellie tried to jump over Poppy's kick, but Poppy was slightly faster... So instead she is caught by two of the yordles when the kick launched her away into the ring. Fortunately, nothing actually broke. "Runner!" Behind Poppy, a rather large-for-a-yordle male leapt at Poppy and tried to kick her down by aiming his kick high at her back

The kick connects and Poppy falls forward, catching herself with her arms, shaking her head. She then pushes her feet off the ground and pushes with her hands, kicking towards the other yordle behind her with both legs.
"Not a bad kick... but not enough."
Whether the kick connects or not, Poppy quickly spins around and gets herself up again, but is vulnerable during the motion.
((About to go to sleep, and this is the first time today I can actually post. Slowest. Day. Ever.))

While Poppy fell, Runner landed on the ground and got up, anticipating a counterattack- Poppy was a champion after all- he didn't run over to her, but rather walked. Being slow had it's own advantages, as the kick didn't reach him.
"Sure about that?" Poppy's rather flashy way of getting to her feet taunted the yordle into a charge, running up to her and striking at her shoulder, though the spinning would prove to be slightly problematic in actually hitting it.
Post by The Iron Ambassador on Apr 15, 2013 8:57:24 GMT -5
Poppy takes the strike to her left shoulder just as she gets upright into balance again, using the force of the strike to bring her left arm back and throw a hard punch back at the yordle who struck her.
"Quite certain. I have earned my title by being a wall of steel, both in combat and in negotiations."
((Note: Considering her splash arts, Poppy seems to be ambidextrous. So hand won't matter and the punch will indeed be quite hard.))

Runner sees his strike being returned at him and has just enough time to hop up when it strikes, flying backwards a length before sliding another length and being at dead center, rubbing his shoulder a second. "Oh certainly, I can believe that. Why did you want to do this again? Want a fight this bad?" Runner taunted Poppy into making the first move here, he didn't want to just recieve his own punch again
Meanwhile, Ellie has been checked on and has returned to the ring, making it slightly larger.

"Fight? No. I usually avoid fighting when possible, but rarely does one get a chance to see how the Megling Commandos train, let alone take part in the training. An opportunity one should not let slide, don't you think?"
Poppy looks at the commando waiting for her. No doubt wanting to retaliate to a strike to get the upper hand. Fine then... let the commando try, she thinks to herself. Most would show a slight smirk or some sign of emotion at a situation like this, but Poppy's face seemed as if it was made of steel, her expression not budging the slightest.
She then walks over to the other yordle, throwing a punch at him. Her plan was simple. If the commando tried to block the punch, it would give her an opening to quickly spin and smash her elbow to his face. Or that was what she hoped.
Post by The Megling Gunner on Apr 17, 2013 9:51:21 GMT -5
"Heh, That's true. Still, it seemed like you were challenging us." Poppy's intuition betrayed her here. Instead of blocking, Runner sidestepped to his right side, deflected her punch with his left hand and tried to push her away. Were it to succeed, He'd try to use her tendence to resist to follow up with a kick.
Post by The Iron Ambassador on Apr 17, 2013 12:27:09 GMT -5
Poppy is pushed back into the ring's sides, but expects a continuation from the other yordle. So, she uses the push the member's of the ring give her to charge back at Runner, going beneath the kick and going shoulder first towards the man's gut.
"There's a difference between a challenge... and banter."
Post by The Megling Gunner on Apr 18, 2013 8:37:55 GMT -5
"Oh [censor]" Poppy's attack was succesful, Runner didn't even try to deflect her and HOPES she'd hold back a little. Poppy would now have a yordle over her shoulder, and as soon as she'd put him down, he would dragged to the med bay by the two who caught him.
"Ambassador, put Runner down please. Should I call in another one?"
Post by The Iron Ambassador on Apr 18, 2013 12:35:09 GMT -5
Poppy brings Runner down to the hands of the commandos at the edge of the ring, looking at the rest still there.
"Hmm... one more certainly. I can see why you train like this. You can never know where an attacker will come from after all in a real situation, and unlike myself, the commandos are not heavily armored.."
She then steps back to the middle of the ring, stretching her neck for a couple of seconds before resuming a prepared stance.
