The voice of the scruffy old man broke Tilly's thought.. she sighed and wiped her face with her hand, still keeping her head down. Tilly simply shook her head a little. "Just.. shedding tears that I had no time to shed before." Tilly replied, not revealing her face to the man. Tilly then sighed again.. "though my tears were not bring them back.." Tilly thought. "I suppose it's better than anything"

"That's good I s'pose...everyone's got their right to mourn fer' lost ones n' whatnot." Scrod replied as he nodded his head in understanding, he didn't really know if that was why she was crying but that was his best guess. He didn't want to have her crying again so he decided to change the subject after a bit of silence.
"By the way, names Richard Wiedemann...back in Bilgewater where I'm from folks like to call me Scrod. Not bein' from around here I think I might've done gone n' got myself lost in these here woods." he told her laughing a bit to lighten the mood.
"Oh yea, I didn't quite catch yer' name yet did I Miss...?"
"I did not give it." Tilly replied, her voice was ice cold. Tilly then looked up at him with her sapphire eyes. Her eyes were as cold as her voice.. there may have been a hint of life in them at one point, but it was clear that has been long sense extinguished. Tilly then sighed and looked away, wiping her face again.

Scrod frowned at her response, on the outside she looked to be a very bueatiful, sweet young woman, but the way she reacted to him indirectly asking her name showed she was cold, and more of a tart than he could have guessed.
"Alrite then...would ya' mind tellin' me yer' name then? If not guessin' yer' not too keen on the idea o' talkin' to an old salt like myself. If that's the case fair enough." he told her cracking out his flask of whiskey for a swig.
"But if ya' don't tell me yer' name, I gota lil' nickname I figure would fit you right as a trivet. After all, can't go callin' ya 'Miss' the whole time after I done told you mine already, now can I?" he said as he downed the last of the alcohol from his flask. "Wouldn't ya' know it damn things empty..." he thought to himself as he sighed in disappointment.
Tilly sighed, shaking her head a little. "Till.." She said with another sigh. "My name is Till." Tilly then looked up at the old sailor. "What business do you have in Ionia..?" She then asked, curious why the man was here. She had not seen many outsiders in Ionia, and she couldn't help but wonder why he was here.

"Business? Hmm..." Scrod scratched his beard in thought.
"Honestly? None. I aint got no business nowhere but on the sea really. Speakin' plainly I guess ya' could say I had some extra money from back when I was younger and came here fer' the sights." he replied with a few hand gestures.
"What about you, Till? Yer' mighty heeled fer' a woman who was just alone a moment ago cryin' to herself..." he asked her gesturing towards her large sword and armor she wore.
"No disrespect o' course." he added off-handedly.
(( heeled is slang for armed in case you didn't know ))
Tilly looked at the man, then back to her Sword.. she hefted it into her lap, running a hand over it.. suddenly, more flashes were brought before her eyes, blood stained her armor and blade.. the tree she was leaning on was ablaze. Tilly then looked wide-eyed at the man beside of her.. he was a near dying soldier, his insides spilled out around her.
"H-help m..me... "Go away.." Tilly in a hushed voice. Tilly then closed her eyes as screams rang out in her head, turning her head back to her blade, she grit her teeth "Go away... go away... go away.. GO AWAY!!"
The screams faded back into the back of her mind once again, and when she opened her eyes, everything was back to normal. Her heart hammered against her chest, and sweat dripped down her face.. her hands white-knuckling her Sword. Tilly was visibly shaking.. and her breathing was hard.. perhaps it was a mistake coming back here.. perhaps it was too early. But how long would she have to wait? How long will her dreams be plagued by the sights and sounds of war? How much longer can she take having these flashbacks of death and destruction?
...How much longer..
Tilly simply sat in silence.. slowly letting her body return to normal.

Tilly's reaction to his question had Scrod completely shocked. "This girl definitley aint in her right mind..." he thought to himself as she screamed louder and louder 'go away' to nothing in particular. Her words didn't seem directed towards him from his perspective, then again he could be wrong.
"Uh, pardon? Was it somethin' I said? Till? You all there Tilly?" Scrod snapped his fingers a few times near her face to try to get her attention but nothing happened.
When she started shaking Scrod felt like he should have tried to get her to a doctor, not that he would know where to find one here, but she slowly seemed to be calming down so he simply stood there confused. After a full minute of silence he decided to try and say something again.
"Not pokin' fun or anythin' of the sort, but it don't take a doctor to see your not all right like you was sayin' earlier...regular folks don't have a panic attack or...whatever that was when conversin' with other folks on a daily basis." he told her as he crouched next to her and put his hand on her shoulder as a calming gesture.
"Prolly won't mean much comin' from a stranger, but I got a lil' advice fer' ya' Tilly. If ya' need help with sumthin' ya' shouldn't be afraid to ask folks fer' it, they might surprise ya' with their generosity. That n' life's a lot easier when you got people around that care about ya'...think about it, alright?" after telling her this he stood up and stretched a bit before going back to sit under a nearby tree again.
He took his pipe out and struck a match to light it and took a few puffs as he enjoyed the scenery around him to let Tilly...well... do what she needed to collect herself he guessed.
Slowly, Tilly was still once again, her heart rate and breathing returned to normal. Tilly sighed and closed her eyes, listening to the old man talk. She refused to get help.. there was none to be had for her. This was the burden she was forced to carry, and carry it she would, on her shoulders alone. Tilly simply looked at the old man as he began to walk away, sighing again, she leaned back against the tree... she had to get out of here, if only for her own sanity.
Tilly used her Sword to lift herself onto her feet before hefting the blade onto her shoulder. She then looked at the old man sitting under a tree, she approached him. "I cannot get help, for there is none to be had for me." Tilly sighed. "They tell me time is a healer, they say in time I will be ok. In time I will forget it. But its been over a decade and it still haunts me as if it were yesterday. I still cant forget it nor do I want to. I am doing time, I am a prisoner of time, and time is not helping me get over it. I am still waiting, and maybe in time, I will finally have peace? But is time on my side? Or am I just a fool wasting time?"
Tilly's sapphire and emerald eyes closed once more, as another sigh escaped her. "In any rate.. I suppose I should thank you." And with that, Tilly gave a small bow to the old sea-dog before she turned and began to leave.

"If ya' find yer'self in Bilgewater don't be afraid to ask around fer' me, I'll treat ya' to a drink fer' puttin' up with me here!" he called out as she left.
While Tilly left, Scrod sat there adjusting his posture to get comfortable in the hopes that he could take his nap before he moved on elsewhere. When he found just the right spot he dozed off feeling as if he had forgotten something, but he just shrugged it off as something not important.
He would quietly fall asleep with his pipe still in his mouth without a care in the world. "Nice girl that Tilly...lil' overdramatic n' down right strange, but she's nice..." were his last thoughts before he finally fell asleep.
When he awoke several hours later he would make for the closest port and head back to Bilgewater.
