Relationships:
Mao: Yamado has a very strange relationship with his uncle. On one hand, he loves and respects him as his caregiver, believing him to truly be his father. On the other hand, he finds himself struggling with his uncle's opinions and plans for his life. He respects and obeys his uncle, as he was taught, struggling more and more to do such as his uncles wishes counter his own.
Description:
Yamado stands 5"10' tall, with brown eyes and long black hair, which he typically binds into ponytail from his neck downwards, reaching to his upper back. Yamado's outfit changes depending on the situation, but normally he wears a black longcoat that reaches down to just above his ankle, with silver patches down the right sleeve, as well as sliver trimming along the bottom, over a white dress shirt. He also wears a pair of black pants with a pair of grey belts, one through the loops completely, while the other only on the left side and hanging loose on the right side that he uses to adjust and hold his sheath and sword, which he carries on him whenever possible. Yamado's sword is a 2.5 feet long katana, with a black hand a half hilt, carried in a black steel sheath. Yamado tends to wear very impractical things, such as long coats and jackets in hot weather, to hide his sword from plain sight and simply because he feels they make him "look cool."
Yamado is a very curious person, always trying to explore the world around him. He finds wonder in all of the world, and feels a desire to try and see all he can whenever possible. He tries his best to always be helpful and moral, feeling that it is a mans duty to do such. Yamado strongly believes in the ideals of honor and truth, struggling with the concept of lying or cheating. Very forward and outgoing, Yamado is always willing to meet others, trying his best to make friends with them. He tries his best to be gentle and trusting with everyone he meets, often coming off weak and naive because of this. He has a love of machinery that was sparked by his life in Piltover, always interested to understand how they work and function. Trained by his uncle since he was 6, Yamado is adept with a sword and is willing to fight others should the need be. He is willing to do what he must to defend others and himself, and will use force if necessary to stop those that he deems are doing evil or wrong. Yamado almost always carries his sword with him, his first successful invention that inspires him to be his own person, only leaving it off his person when he feels it is not an option. Carrying it gives him a feeling of safety, making him feel strong enough to protect himself and others, and to do his duty to stop anything wrong.
Biography:
Born into a traveling Ionian family, Yamado spent most of his life on the road, always seeing new places and things. He loved this aspect of his life, always taking chances to see what new things he could, even as young as he was at the time. Although barely old enough to remember it, Yamado lived this way until he was 6. Soon, one of his uncles specifically, Mao, grew sick. Mao lived in the Galrin province with his wife and son. Mao was growing sicker and sicker by the day, and unable to receive the treatment he needed locally, was forced to move to Piltover for treatment. His son stayed behind to take care of his affairs and put everything in order before going. Then, the Ionian-Noxus war broke out. His son took up arms to defend his country, and was slain in combat. This broke Mao on a deeply emotional level, unable to cope with the idea of having no one to continue his legacy. In an effort to continue his brother's family and help his brother heal, Yamado's father sent him to live with Mao, who adopted him as his son.
Mao was living at a small plot of land outside the city-state and having a home built. Mao, a former merchant with a good amount of wealth, spared no expense in having a home built to match his former in Ionia. Yamado lived with the family for years after that, attending school in Piltover as well as serving under his uncle's will in learning the traditional ways of his family, including working with the blade. Mao was not a fan of the technology and innovation that thrived in Piltover, simply seeking to live in safety and comfort until he could return home. Eventually, this was no longer an option. Mao's ever present sickness had grown worse, and soon found himself too sick to risking another large move, forcing himself to settle in his new home.
Despite his uncle's distrust of it, Yamado was fascinated and in awe of the wonders and splendor of his new home. He was always interested in the different types of machinery present in the city, and hoped one day to be able to work with them. This idea was not tolerated by his uncle, so Yamado was forced to work in secret. Working with various clubs and learning what he could from his classes, Yamado began experimenting in secret, creating many different inventions, with almost all being failures. Not letting himself be discouraged, through constant trial Yamado developed his first successful creation; a sword that could store and discharge electricity. Naming it Rai-Oh, Yamado was spurred on, constantly improving his creation and creating many others. By the time he was of age, Yamado planned to continue his schooling in a Piltover university, hoping to eventually work with the machines he loves, hiding his intents completely from his uncle.
