February 10th, 23 CLE
Time was a commodity summoners were afforded very little of, especially when grasping at the threads of a fancier robe detail. Ethan was but one such individual, apparently trusted enough with a small task of correspondence delivery. It threw him back to his much more simple days, running up and down the halls delivering mail to the Silvers and Golds when he was nothing more than a trainee. But this envelope bore a much more significant weight and a far more important sender.
His impassive stare turned quickly to the time, spinning the envelope from finger to slender finger aimlessly. Its soon to be owner was not yet late for their meeting, hastily prepared though it was, but if he were to take much longer to arrive, he most certainly would be.
Ethan shifted minutely in his seat and glanced at the door, a tiny huff sounding in the otherwise empty room. The responsibility was a fairly large one and he wished it to be done with so he could continue along his way. So he sat and waited in the otherwise bare room, musing as to the letter's contents and staring at the wall across from him passively and then looking about the chamber.
It was like any other room.

Who on Valoran made these hallways so long? Urgh. Nulla's complaining echoed across the halls along with the clicking of his cane against the marble floors. He turned right, then left, then right again. Damn it, where were we supposed to meet again? The artificer took out a small golden cube out of his pouch and pressed one of its sides. The cube opened itself and unfolded into a map. Oh, right. There. Nulla folded the cube-map again and resumed his walking. Two turns to the right, up the staircase, and one last turn to the left...
Finally! Nulla sighed in relief. Sorry if you've been waiting for long, boy. I somehow manage to lose direction in these dreaded hallways after all these years. The man thoughtfully stroked his beard. I suppose you haven't made an old man walk across half the Institute for just a chat, so please, speak your mind.

"It was no hassle, Summoner Draconis. I've called you here today to give you a letter. A call to duty, I'd wager." Ethan's voice lacked the same commanding quality it had possessed during his previous public addresses, if his superior even remembered them.
He placed the letter on the smooth wood of the table and gave it a gentle flick, sending it spinning across the table to come to rest before the older man. Even the paper it was written on seemed important, possessing all of the necessary signage to dictate that it was in fact a letter directly from Vessaria herself.
"I apologize for making you climb the stairs to meet me here, but there is only so much time in a day and finding your home was not a possibility. what you do with the contents is entirely up to you, I was told nothing beyond that it was to be delivered, along with its brothers." The Gold rank pushed himself to his feet and gave a respectful nod to the other man, slowly meandering toward the door.
He was clearly curious what was so important but far too proud to ask. Perhaps the hunched summoner would read aloud. Either way, Ethan was headed to the door, propelled by his sense of duty. More letters to deliver, and to recipients who were either difficult to track down or far more impatient.
Do not falter from the path of peace, justice and truth will set you free.

Ethyan was right - this letter was, without a doubt, of vital importance. His hand delicately slid off his cane's handle and found its way to the letter. The cane, strangely enough, managed to remain perfectly still. The artificer's tattered fingers slowly opened the envelope and unfolded the paper. He couldn't help but raise an eyebrow while reading the letter. Looks like your wager was right, boy. He folded the paper again and tuck it into one of his robe's many pockets while looking over his shoulder. His index and middle fingers touched his forehead, and he closed his eyes, concentrating. Nulla remained in this state for around ten seconds, and then he hurried out the door. He had places to be, and he had to be there ipso facto.
