Name: Erika Rothstein (Tynerson)
Alias: Eri
Class:Useless. Completely ordinary.
Race: Human
Age: 22
Occupation: Clockmaker
Residence: Zaun
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Abilities:(if needed)
None at this present moment. Will edit if and when information is available.
Equipment:
Umbrol :: Most inventions nowadays is a two-in-one, and Erika’s main ‘weapon’, lovingly dubbed ‘Umbrol’ is a large pistol. Oddly shaped to suit her needs, but it looks and feels like a gun. Normal muggers have knives, so popping this baby out sends most scurrying. However, big dogs who choose to play are normally not frightened by this. It is unfortunate then, when Erika pulls the trigger, that an umbrella shoots from the barrel. The pistol acts as the handle and part of the ‘stalk’ of the umbrella. The tip is rather sharp, and Erika sometimes uses this to jab and poke. She can press the trigger again to open the umbrella, and a third trigger will cause the springs to retract, pulling the umbrella back inside the barrel. The fabric is relatively thin and easy to tear.
Small Cogs :: Erika can throw these with terrifying speed and accuracy. Unfortunately, they’re about the size of a small child’s palm (considering they can fit inside her sleeve pockets), and as such, do minute amounts of damage. Pelting someone with these mostly gives her time to make her escape. They are kept in patches of fabric inside the sleeves of all the dresses and shirts and jackets she owns, and also in the heavy front apron she wears.
Relationships:
Familial Relations:
Father :: Erika thinks he died in an oil factory explosion but he is still alive somewhere in the world (probably Piltover).
Mother :: Still alive, but barely sane. Erika takes care of her.
Twin/Older Brother :: Razie was taken away by their father under the guise of the explosion that had supposedly killed the both of them. He currently resides in Piltover but Erika believes him to be dead.
Personal Relations:
Some people know her as a girl who asks for too little. Which is a problem in Zaun, where one would find their hopes and dreams in a spanner and wrench. Erika holds a few trusted friends close to her, namely those that don’t steal her merchandise but for the most part she keeps to herself. She’s paranoid when it comes to large puffs of smoke, hence the almost permanent mask plastered to her face which people also find somewhat odd. Erika doesn’t consider herself a person with many enemies, but of course you always need some before you consider your life complete.
No romantic relations because who needs them.
Other Relations:
Champions:
Zac: The Green Goop, she calls him. He came in to get a watch made but never returned to receive it.
OCs:
She once met a girl called Wenjing who supposedly came from Ionia. The girl has long since vanished, and she still owes Erika a new door.
Description:
Erika is a typical human being with a penchant for clockworks and things that go tick tock. She doesn’t like getting into fights, and she certainly doesn’t like fighting itself. However, she does live in Zaun so she has devised some methods of protection. Though she has never found herself in a truly life threatening situation, there have been times where she wished she carried more than a small clock with her – mostly from shady alleyways. Zaun itself was an incredibly unstable city-state, and Erika would not be surprised if it imploded one day.
She stands at around 5’7" with heels ,and 5’5" without. She has messy dark hair, probably laden with chemicals from both the outside world and from her bathroom too. She keeps it as clean and tidy as she can, but it always manages to wrest control from her and dart in odd directions by the end of the day. Her eyes were brown, before she realized that the special eye-drops she had been given to ‘help her see better’ had also turned them a curious shade of orange with a tinge of light green.
Her choice of dress is rather Victorian though with a few more buckles and belts. Her gloves follow her almost anywhere, designed with pockets inside the sleeves which she can fill with cogs and pins for clocks. Whilst in her workshop, her dark dresses are normally accompanied by a leather apron with small pockets for her tools.
What is most odd about Erika is that she absolutely refuses to remove her mask whilst outside or in the workshop. She loves Zaun, but sometimes the pollution is a little too heavy and so she resorts to keeping it around her mouth at all times. Only when she is in the safety of her own house, or when she needs to eat, will it come down to hang around her neck.
Biography:
Born in Zaun and raised like a true Zaunite, Erika especially enjoyed taking apart clocks as a young girl – more so if it didn’t belong to her. She had a knack of putting them back together too, and she loved the sound of well-oiled cogs grinding together. She liked living in Zaun, with the opportunities they brought. There were rules, but nearly not as harsh from what she heard about Demacia or Noxus.
Her mother was an oddity, even in Zaun. Before the attacks and chemical warfare, she had visited Ionia once as a young girl. The amount of surprise when she realized that air was not supposed to taste like petrol, and that she was supposed to breath softly was indescribable. She returned to her home knowing that the atmosphere around her was unnatural – the smell of progression was slowly killing her. Not physically, but mentally. Though she married the man she loved dearly, she refused to take part in any sort of inventions. She tried to grow plants in a small greenhouse behind their automated flowers.
Erika’s father was a Zaunite through and through. He liked to make little knick-knacks for her brother to play with and sometimes she would borrow them to play with too. He worked in an oil factory, making sure they were pumping through without leaking. So it came to no surprise, however horrific, that an accident occurred and her father along with her brother who had been taken along supposedly perished in the explosion. It had been a simple letter, and the incident was quickly brushed under the rug despite the number of workers that had died. Erika’s mother, on the other hand, had gone quite insane. She busied herself with making a rather crude replica of her husband; a wire frame in the shape of a man, and a box of cogs thrust in the middle. Erika had taken it upon herself to fix it up to make them tick – as if it were an actual heart.
(( Her father and brother are still alive and used the explosion as a cover up. Refer to Razie's profile here ))
This was when she was around ten years of age, and so Erika lived the rest of her days with an automated father who didn’t move, only tick-ticked away on his favorite arm chair while her mother sat next to him and sang songs about Ionia. A cousin stayed with them until Erika was old enough to work and make a living off of her father’s funds and her mother’s savings. He left Zaun in pursuit of a cleaner (literally) lifestyle in Piltover. Sometimes funds come from Piltover and Erika always assumes it's from him.
Erika had opened up a store for clocks. Customizing clocks, repairing clocks, anything like that. Some of the more sketchy types come to her to get their pocket watches fitted with tiny darts or miniscule bullets to use as weapons and she complies. So long as they pay for it, she will make it. Though she is not well known in the city, she has made enough of a name to hold a somewhat steady income – enough to feed herself and her mother, and to pay the bills. One day she hopes to make enough to visit Ionia and find out what was it that triggered her mother’s state of mind.
Long Term Objectives
- Find out the truth about her brother and father.
- Visit Ionia. This will be more of a direct travel which will have to be sorted out when it happens. It will not happen overnight. She will travel there then return to Zaun to potentially move to live in Ionia.
- A possible, accidental mutation. I will have to find the relevant parties (Singed, Mundo, ask around for potential OCs) to make this happen. The mutation will not suddenly make her powerful. I assume her mutations will include things like (as Singed suggested) an immunity to toxic/poisonous air or a loss of feeling, hence the inability to feel pain. There may not be additional limbs but that remains to be seen and discussed.
- Erika will more than likely attempt to find a way to reverse the effects (even if they cannot) because she does not want to soil Ionia by going all mutated and gross.
That's all I have planned so far, but I believe that she will have much to do when mutated and such.
