Below you will find the Maelstrom canon representation of each citystate government and synopsis of culture. Please take the laws of the land into account when RPing in an area with an established protocol. (WIP)

Progressive Party
• One of the two founding parties at the Parliament’s formation.
• Promotes research and high-tech efficiency.
• Neutral on politics
• Supportive of the League
• Favors a balance between inter-city-state trade and self-sustainability; import friendly.
Industrial Party
• The other founding party at the government’s formation.
• Promotes mass production and low-cost efficiency.
• Neutral on politics
• Supportive of the League
• Favors self-sustaining methods; export friendly.
Minor
Socialist Party
• Broke off from the Industrial Party
• Wishes to represent the ‘people’ (read: factory workers)
• Wishes to create firm ties with Demacia against Noxus
• Neutral on the League
• Believes in trade, though no established trade relations; export friendly.
Conservative Party
• Formed by the more wealthy Piltovians
• Promotes the ‘wealth’ of Piltover (read: the rich)
• Wishes to be ‘realistic’ and form ties with Noxus against Demacia
• Somewhat opposes the league
• Believes in self-sustainability; import friendly.
Liberal Party
• Formed by middle-class citizens that do not fully agree with either major party
• Promotes the ‘strength’ of Piltover (read: the middle class)
• Wishes to keep a neutral stance with Demacia and Noxus, and form ties with other ‘neutral’ city-states (such as Bandle City)
• Somewhat supports the league
• Believes in international trade; self-sustain friendly.
The League Party
• Formed in the wake of the League’s creation
• Firmly believes in the strength of the ideals the League promotes.
• Wishes to restart relations and form ties with all city-states (considered a pipe-dream currently)
• Completely in support of the league
• Believes in equality between self-sustainability and trade; neutral on imports/exports.
Technocratic Party
• Formed by those who believe in technology as a religion
• Promotes the establishment of a computer system as the city-state’s government.
• Wishes to turn Piltover to self-isolationism, cutting off all ties with the rest of Valoran.
• Completely against the league
• Favors complete self-sustainability.[/ul]

Government type: Unicameral Parliament
- 155 total seats, appx. 10,000 citizens/district
- Election Term: 10 years
- Elections held every 5 years for half the seats (77)
- Election for "Prime Statesman" held mid-term.
- Maximum terms: 2
Currently, there are two major parties that hold control of the Piltovian Parliament, while several minor ones also exist; it is common for one major and one minor party to ally together in the event of an election that leaves no party in sole control of Parliament, which happens often. Consequently, coalitions are often formed, and it is these multi-party groups which are often in control of Parliament, and by direct connection, the government of Piltover. The following major and minor parties are listed and briefly summarized:
