Name:Garth Marxian
Alias: N/A
Class: Marksman
Race: Augmented Human
Age:18
Occupation: Adventurer
Residence: Piltover
Alignment: Lawful Good
Abilities:
Passive Abilities
Mana Converter: Garth’s own creation in the shape of a gauntlet that he wears on his arm. The device uses his rare large mana pool to add a little extra power to his bullets. Or if he does not wish to lethally harm his target then he can use bullets made of his mana. This of course takes much more mana, and the harm it causes depends on the amount of mana he uses. The more mana the more lethal the bullet is. Furthermore, he has to guess how much mana he actually has left. The device itself only converts the mana, but does not monitor it. Garth trusts his own tuition for that, but he is able to shut it down if he so desires.
Augmented Eye: As a result of his father’s rather crazy experiments Garth unwillingly received a new eye. The eye’s natural color is a red. The eye has sharper vision than that of a human one, but it also tracks heat signatures. His father designed it to be used for soldiers who were suppose to engage in night raids or stealthy assassinations. After all what is better than seeing a guard or quarry through pitch black darkness?
Marksman: Garth has been practicing with his rifle ever since he created it at the tender age of eleven While it worried some that there was an eleven year old creating a gun, but given the fact that he was sent to one of the top academies in Piltover for hextech engineering, and his general attitude. It seemed highly unlikely that there was any real cause for concern. To speak of his marksmanship he often hits eight out of ten bulleye. So while not at the caliber of Ashe or Caitlyn, he is a good shot nonetheless.
Active Abilities
Mana Armor: Garth has learned a lot over his recent adventures, and knows he has to adapt quickly or die. Thus he began to try and focus his mana to form a suit of armor around him. Granted, like other armor it has his weak points particularly in the jointed areas. When he activates this armor it drains mana over time. The armor will shield Garth for a flat 100 damage of either physical or magical. After that 100 damage is used up the armor is shattered and must be repaired around his body.
Cooldown: 7 posts.
Surprise!: Garth uses the mana converter to make an unstable shell of mana. Once fired the shell acts more like a shotgun, knocking Garth back 5 feet and firing condensed mana shards in a cone in front of him. It deals 120 damage within 5 feet beyond that it will deal 100 damage.
Cooldown: 1 post
The Critical Eye: Garth uses his augmented eye to search out weak points in the enemy giving him 10% armor penetration, however due to this focus he suffers a 5% movement speed slow.
Explosive Mana Rounds: Garth uses the mana converter to build a thick round of mana. The round is meant to bury into a target, or his/her armor, before detonating. The round goes through 40 armor and the detonation deals 145 points of damage. It takes 2 posts to charge one of these rounds, but he can store up to 2 bullets in his rifle.
Law Bringer!: Garth has to channel his mana through the converter, and overloads it to create a high caliber round. After he is done channeling his fires the high caliber round at his target. If the target is hit then the round will pierce them, and hit targets in a line behind them. This attack does not cause an exit or entry wound, rather upon hitting a target it shocks their internal body. Dealing damage to nerves, organs, and veins. The initial target will suffer 230 points of magic damage and every target after that, the round will deal 8% less damage to a cap of 24%.
Cooldown: 15 posts.
Relationships:
Simon Marxian- Broke all ties with him after leaving Zaun. The man experimented on him giving him a rather large pool of mana and the eye (and the scar that came with it too).
Leia Marxian- Was helping him escape Zaun, when she was abducted by an mad scientist. Garth has reason to believe it was Mundo though he has no evidence of it.
Aunt Ada- The aunt who adopted him after he arrived at Piltover. She ensured he went to the best schools and did her very best to ensure that his origin did not interfere with his life here in Piltover.
Caitlyn: Role-model, wants her to teach him the ways of being a Sheriff for when he returns to Zaun.
Description:
LS-457: Garth’s rifle that he has used ever since he was eleven. So he is quite familiar with the weapon and is able to assemble and disassemble it in minutes. He knows all the mechanisms, though he is attempting to make it more efficient. For instance he may add another mechanism now and then to make up for a lack of versatility. However, right now he really wants a name for the rifle.
As a whole Garth has a care free personality, most likely due to his youth, but he is also quite smart. He graduated as part of the top ten of his class. However, he does seem to have a slight issue around girls. To be honest Garth does his best not to offend them, but seems to get embarrassed if they flirt with him. Garth does not think as rationally as he would when flustered, and is more prone to mistakes. Personally he blames the hormones that he has, and the fact he has been rather focused on his dream that he has not had time for women.
However, there is another side to Garth, and that is his serious detective side. When the situation demands it he will become serious and logical. He will begin to analyze situations and places quickly. He begins to show as a natural leader, and is much harder to fluster in these situations.
Biography:
Garth was born in Zaun to a family that did fine. Unfortunately at the age of 8 that soon changed. His father….became obsessed with his lack of success compared to other famous Zaun individuals. So he began to experiment in secret at first on other people…without his family knowing.
Soon he ran out of subjects and turned to a closer one…one who he could monitor. His own son. Simon Marxian’s first experiment was to see if he could increase his son’s mana pool. Then late at night he took his son to his lab and begun the experiment. His son was back before dawn unaware of the experiemnt due to his father’s use of chemicals and potions. Not even Garth noticed the change in his power, just that he felt more energetic than usual. It was not until he took a test that everyone became aware of his power…..and his father played along.
Later, the same thing happened he was taken to the lab, but this time the change was more drastic. His father needed more visible progress for himself. He replaced his son’s left eye, but got a little too excited leading to Garth’s scar. Garth’s mother, Leia, of course noticed this and demanded answers. She noticed that Simon was missing and Garth most certainly did not have it before. Simon did not apperciate her interference, and hit her. That seemed to deter Leia for the moment, but that night she grabbed Garth and drug him out of bed to escape Zaun and his father.
Sadly, not everything went as Garth’s mother planned. A very large and muscular figure appeared from a nearby alley spouting nonsense and slobbering. Leia told her son to run, and that is what Garth did. He ran until his legs could not carry him. Fortunately he ran into a group of travelers agreed to take him to Piltover..as long as his aunt would pay once they arrived. Garth managed to persuade them to wait for his mother.
………She never came.
Once arriving at Piltover and meeting up with his aunt Ada he so learned about the tales of Caitlyn. She was talked about all the time at the academy he attended, thanks to Ada’s support and constant guidance. Furthermore, his skills in tinkering with hextech technology and his interest in the law. He wondered if maybe just maybe…he could do the same to Zaun. This way another child will not end up like him, or innocents killed for the sake of science that is suppose to save them! He tried to persuade Ada to let him go see Caitlyn sooner, but she insisted not till he was eighteen would he be able to see. After all he would appear to be a much better candidate for Caitlyn to recruit and teach.
Now Garth is going to see if Caitlyn would take him as her apprentice so he can bring the change she brought to Piltover, to Zaun. Maybe, just maybe he could save more lives than what Zaun is saving right now.
