Leona looked a little bit puzzled as well, turning in a circle with orb in hand, then frowned. "I...I don't know where we are, really. The only thing I can tell is that, maybe we're in my mind, but, I don't think that's the case, or else we would see more...wouldn't we? Maybe we're just dreaming, and someone casted a spell that went awry and made this happen?" She shook her head. "I don't know, really..."

Malarkey could only frown back upon hearing her reply. This wasn't a situation he was ever supposed to get into... and it only seemed to get weirder from here.
"In all honesty, ma'am... I wouldn't know any more than you. I'm not a brain surgeon... or any of those wizards that perhaps deal with the mind/consciousness," He replied in an honest manner.
"We could be in your mind... or it could be dreaming. But I don't recall anyone else being the room we're in... or were in. And the hospital wing doesn't have the ability to sustain that type of magic, I'd think, so it wouldn't work."
"But... it seems that at the moment, there's a bunch of corridors - one in each direction - that all lead somewhere. I've got not the faintest clue where to go, but I'm sure it's not to stay here," he finished, giving a shrug to signal he couldn't make a choice himself.

Leona shrugged at the man. "Who knows." She would look around again, at each specific corridor, sighing when she could not conclude anything. "They all look the same. I guess we'll find out the hard way..." She would walk forward to the one ahead of them, gesturing for Malarkey to follow her.
Travelling down the hallway, she would frown, as thing began to seem familiar around her. "Strange, things from Mount Targon?"
Continuing on, she heard voices yelling in a command like tone. "...You will fight, you hear?!" She gasped, turning around. "I...I don't want to continue fo-forward, this is...this is a part of my memory, I think...it's when I refused to fight to the death, and I was sentenced to death...you know that story, right?"
Post by Piltover Medical Corps on May 25, 2013 22:05:56 GMT -5
Malarkey tilted his head slightly as he heard Leona's response, but he had no better idea, and so he merely nodded and followed along behind her.
As they continued down the hallway, Malarkey noticed that things were looking... out of place. The originally empty hallway was starting to look like the insides of a structure, a culture he didn't recognize... until he heard Leona's comment.
"Mount Targon?" He replied open-mindedly, having only heard of that place mentioned - aside from having to read it in a history book - but he never knew what it looked like.
However, his thought was cut-off by Leona's outcry, which only served to confuse him even more.
"S-story? Ma'am, I apologize, but I hardly have any knowledge of champion backgrounds... what story would you be talking of?"
Just then, he heard something slam from behind; wheeling around, Malarkey looked up a bit to see a gigantic set of doors magically appear out of nowhere, blocking the other way down the hallway they had just traversed. It seemed that going back was no longer an option...
"Well, so much for going back," he commented, "...it looks like we can only go forward now."

Leona looked slightly shaken, looking back forward. "Basically, to prove our strength in Rakkor society, at a teenage age, we fight each other to the death, they called it the Rite of Kor, basically, whomever wins, becomes a warrior, whomever loses...you get the point."
She would walk forward, as they saw what looked like a younger, teenage version of Leona, being talked to by an instructor. "I refused to fight to the death, and so, the Rakkorian people..." She was cut off by the man's yelling at the young image of her. "You refuse to fight, hm?! Well, you know what that means for you: a death sentence!" He would turn off, fuming, and Leona would be holding her head in her hands, sobbing softly.
Turning back to face the man, she sighed, looking slightly upset. "I was sentenced to death, but, when they tried to actually strike me down, sunlight came forth, enveloping Mount Targon in light, and the Solari claimed me, there and then." She shrugs. "And that's how I became what I am now."

Malarkey listened - albeit not exactly focused at her speech as much as what was going on in front of her - and tilted his head slightly as Leona explained her memory. When she was finished, he seemingly just stared for a few moments, before he remembered something that clicked in his memory.
"...wait... so, this event is what essentially led you to eventually become a league Champion as you are today?" Malarkey asked, rather stupidly, before shaking his head, now clear of the dizziness he began to feel.
"Pardon me, I'm not thinking terribly straight at the moment; of course that's why you're a champion, I read about it in the book about the league right now..."
"But, uh... back to the present issue. Wouldn't they recognize you to be, you know... a bit different than you were back then? You only became a sun warrior after you were almost executed; since you're one now, couldn't you simply show you're different and thus be able to stop the whole memory from playing out again?" As someone who had never dealt with the psychics of the mind, he had no idea what could be the true answer, and could only offer an educated guess.

Leona nodded. "In a way. They needed a representative of their people, and then, well...I happened." She chuckled. "And so now I'm the champion of the Solari, though, I'm not high up there. I'm what some people call a 'poster child' for us."
She shook her head, looking down for a few moments. "I wish I could interfere, but...it isn't right. I must allow it to happen. Messing with it would cause many, many issues with the timeline. Although it could prevent a few issues...it'll spark other issues." She smiled slightly at him. "You understand that, don't you?"

"Ah, miss? With all respect, you're confusing me here," Cpl. Taek-soo (Name change due to rework, but otherwise still the same guy) could only comment; from what he was just told, he didn't understand what exactly was happening, though it hardly helped that he didn't know how he got there in the first place.
"I thought this was a memory? If it is, then it's just seeing it again... unless this isn't a memory and we're actually... back in time?"

She shrugs. "To be honest, I don't know. I don't think they can even see us in a dream. But it's better to be safe than sorry, I suppose." She looked back, as two men took the younger version of her by the arms, and began to drag her away while she was still sobbing.
Leona looked a bit downed by what she was witnessing. "They gave me two days before I was scheduled to be executed. I couldn't sleep at all, knowing then that I would die for refusing to kill an innocent person. Funny, how it turned out, really."

Taek-soo could only shake his head in response to what he had just heard; it made no sense... but then again, many things on Runeterra made next to no sense.
"Huh, well, then again, there's alot of things that seem stupid in hindsight... but 20/20 hindsight is something all of us would like to have a times."
"Back to this situation, it seems we don't have many places to go: the way back's blocked off, but going forward doesn't present a great situation either... what do we do?"
