The Piltover Central Hospital is considered amongst the finest medical institutions across Valoran, arguably the one facility that can rival the great medical ward that situates itself in the Institute of War. It's technological advancements in medicine establish it as bar none the most advanced hospital technological-wise, and its research group one of the groups at the forefront of medical research.
As such, the hospital is known to cater to some of the most famous people and yordles that have come to be treated by it's world-class surgeons and doctors, and has been known to have some of the more famous - and infamous - operations, including the now legendary miracle operation which saved the techmaturgical child prodigy from the Kumungu Jungles.
However, while the hospital does include champions on its list of famous visitors, it rarely has those that originate from outside the city-states of Piltover and Zaun. And thus, it was with great initial surprise for the hospital to learn that its latest patient would be a champion that came from a completely different place: Leona, the Radiant Dawn.
The Piltover relief expedition that had left for Freljord had now returned, and with them, they carried the Avatar of the Sun. The bombardment of questions that inevitably followed were all answered with the same few common responses: that Leona was in a coma, that they didn't know how long it would be, that they weren't too sure how it came to be, and that they would be keeping her in a private trauma room until she awoke... if she ever did.
The surprise in her appearance was still quite significant amongst the residing doctors, however, and so after a few days of debating who would watch over her, it was decided to allow the Medics of the Corps to attend to that duty. It was also known that there might be threats that could come the hospitals way, as there were rumors that she might become a potential target.
To avoid that issue, the hallway that led to room she was kept in fell under a practical form of martial law, with the Corps attached to ensure maximum security; only the surgeons and doctors assigned to her were permitted to enter for now, and even they needed to first gain special clearance in order to do so.
As per hospital protocol, Leona's armor and gear were taken off of her, and replacing it was hospital patient clothing; her armor and weapons were all placed in a storage room next to the trauma room she was currently staying in.
And so, on this rather cloudy day, at 1700 Hours, the room is occupied by trauma specialist Dr. Jordan Higgins, the Radiant Dawn herself, and Medics Cpl. Malarkey and PFC. Alley-Simmonds. Dr. Higgins is busy monitoring her conditions at the moment, while Malarkey and Simmonds are simply keeping watch, whiling away their time with the daily newspaper...

Leona laid still on the hospital bed... she was silent for the most part, almost as if she were sleeping. However, the first of those visions she had when she was first knocked unconscious did not leave her... one minuet she was fine, the next she was gripping the sheets in a death grip, a pained expression on her face as she seemed be going through terrible nightmares.

It was a good thing Dr. Higgins was looking at the monitoring screen, for at that moment the pulse rose on the screen, the beeps ever more frequent; the next moment he heard shuffling coming from her bed, and it was from there that he saw what was happening.
He hurriedly walked over to over his bed, looking above and trying to bring her arms back. Motioning to the other two medics to come over and assist him.
"She's undergoing mental stress trauma again; get her restrained while I settle her down!" he asserted; Malarkey and Simmonds then held down her right arm as Higgins administered the calming agent that would clear away her initial nightmare, as well as suppress future recurrences.
However, the suppression's duration and effectiveness depended on the strength of the trauma; at this strength, it would only last for a few hours before the nightmares would be able to resurface...

Leona finally seemed to calm down as the medicine was injected to her. Her heart rated slowed and she seemed to calm down as she lay still on the bed. It was then that the door of the hospital opened... and an old, hobbled man made his way inside, followed by a few other younger ones. The old man was dressed in Solari robes, as was the others. The man would be known as Marcus, one of Leona's mentors. The old man shuffled up to the front desk, a very worried expression on his face.
"Can I see Leona... please?" Was all he said, he had taken their only boat to come to Piltover to see Leona, and he hoped that he would be able to see his former student.

The receptionist looked up at the rather oddly-robed man who had just entered the entrance room, and upon hearing his request, gave a small, yet stern, frown.
"Oh, I am sorry, but the current policy has it that no one may visit the current patient's room except for the doctors and nurses that are tending to her at this time, unless they allow an exception to be made," she replied; at that moment, Dr. Higgins himself could be seen leaving the door that led to the room Leona was currently being kept in.
Along with Higgins was Pvt. Alley-Simmonds; it appeared that the two were conversing in a low, yet frantic tone, as if there was some debate over the treatment Leona would be kept in, as they made their way down the hallway into the entrance room...

The old man frowned... but simply nodded in understanding. He would then leave, content to simply stay at a hotel until they were given a chance to see Leona again. Leona herself lied still on the bed. In her subconscious, however, she was in a blackened room, sitting cross legged as she stared down at her feet. She was in her armor, sitting in a meditation position. The medicine she was given had driven her demons into hiding... and she was simply enjoying the peace, for now.
Leona blinked, furrowing her brows a little... she still did not know whether or not she was truly dead... if this is was what was in the afterlife... or if she were simply laying out in the snow where she had fallen... freezing to death, or if someone was taking care of her. Leona shook her head... she needed to be awake.

Cpl. Malarkey was still in the room, keeping an eye on Leona, in case anything went awry that might signal something was wrong; as it was however, she appeared to be well still in her coma.
He gave a small grunt, and returned to his newspaper, but he then realized that he had already read it all.
Turning to check his watch, it was getting close to dinner. He stomach began to slowly grumble, and his mind slowly went to the food that would be served shortly...
...however, thinking of food also made him sleepy, and very much so. Beginning to feel rather drowsy- something of a very strong sweet smell was beginning to somehow cross his nose - he put his head down onto his arms on the table, and trying to keep his mind off of the food, wound up - inevitably - falling sound asleep...
...or at least what appeared to be asleep.
In his mind, he was anything but asleep. Looking up, all he could see was black. This confused him immensely so; one moment he was in a room watching over a league Champion, unsure of what exactly would come, and then the next moment he woke up not being able to see a thing!
Getting upright in his chair, he turned around, only to see more pitch blackness. Unsure of just what was going on, he simply stated a question... seemingly to himself.
"Bloody... where in the world am I?"

A voice broke Leona's silence... she looked up, her eyes widening slightly. This could be her demons again, trying to torment her... but the voice sounded so... real. "Hello..?" She called out, standing up. "Who's there?"

'...wait a minute. Is someone speaking to me?' Cpl. Malarkey thought to himself as he heard a feminine voice seemingly call out to him. He'd never heard the voice before, which only served to throw him off even more...
...he pushed away from the table, and looking around - as if hoping to perhaps gain some vision - he got up, and answered back.
"...yeah, I'm here... but who are you?"

"Corporal Malarkey - wait a minute," he said, stopping himself. "...Leona? You were just in a coma a moment ago! You didn't just randomly wake up... did you?"
He couldn't see her, but hearing her name herself, he couldn't believe it; no one could wake up out of a coma like that, not even super-human beings... or so he thought.
"But... the question is... why did the hospital lights go completely dark? And better yet, how is it pitch black? Not even the morgue is this pitch black at night," he commented; his stint as the morgue janitor was not pleasant, now he recalled it.

"I... I haven't woken up... at least I don't think.." Leona replied, frowning slightly. "Wait... you said I was in a coma? So I still live?" Leona asked, a tinge of hope welling inside of her as he spoke his words.

Malarkey was heavily surprised at the response Leona - or whoever this woman was - gave to him.
"Well, technically you're neither legally nor clinically dead, so yes, you technically are alive... yeah. You're not dead, pretty much. Just in a coma."
"But, uh, d'ya know why the hospital just went completely black all of a sudden? It's never gotten this dark before."

Leona blinked, tilting her head to the side slightly. "I'm.. not awake." She replied, her brows furrowing slightly. "At least I do not think I am.." Leona then tapped her heel on the ground before she began to moved through the darkness, an orb of Sunlight forming in her right hand as she held it front of her. "Can you see this?" She called out, still walking aimlessly in the darkness. "Follow it if you can."

Malarkey was certainly quite confused at her statement. Of course she wasn't awake, she was in a coma!...
...wait a minute. Were they even in the hospital still? Malarkey's mind raced as he tried to figure out just what was going on. The next moment, a bright light drew his attention, and he turned to see Leona holding some orb... and quite awake.
"Oi, I see you, miss! I'm right here!" He called out, waving his hand.
"Well, this beats me... we're definitely not back at the hospital... but then where are we?"
