Candidate: Poppy
January 10, 20 CLE
OBSERVATION
As Poppy enters the observation chamber, the air itself seems to change. Instead of the jovial attitude of the yordle-kind, the Ambassador shows grim determination in her face, hiding the hatred lying behind her eyes. She carries a professional air with her, combined with a hammer of size nearly as large as her own.
Her long hair bounces up and down as she walks in her brand new armor, not seemingly bothered by the obvious weight of the large hammer. She looks up at the inscription of the ornate doors in front of her. "The truest enemy, lies within." Sighing, she walks over to the doors and pushes them open.
REFLECTION
As Poppy walks in, the atmosphere of the room shifts and the doors close behind her. She looks around as the scene shifts, her armor seemingly melting away and showing her old smith's outfit. Whomper is still in her hand but as she lifts her gaze from it, she sees a lost, familiar sight. Her father is walking by her side, and the swamp they were at was all too familiar. This was where it happened...
"Not a long way to go now Poppy. Once we finish this delivery, we can go back home and tell our neighbours about the wonders of Demacia." Blomgrun chuckles as he walks. Poppy nods, finding herself smiling for the first time since this memory had originally happened.
"Dad, can we find something sweet to bring back home? I'm sure everyone would love something from the famous city!" Blomgrun turns to her daughter and smiles.
"Sure Poppy, we can-"
Then suddenly, the bushes around them rustle. And before either can properly react, a pair of tall figures appears from the bushes. One standing in front of them, one behind them.
"Your days are up smith, by order of the High Command." The assassins. Blomgrun's look turns grim as he turns to Poppy, handing her the large package he was carrying. He looks at her daughter in the eyes and says.
"Take the helm and Whomper and run Poppy! Finish the delivery! Don't let it fall into the hands of Noxus. Leave me, go!"
"But dad I cant just-"
"DO IT!"
Tears fell from Poppy's eyes as she nods and runs to the nearby bushes, hiding in the tall undergrowth before turning to look around.
Her father put up a valiant effort, but in the end, the butchers were successful. Blomgrun fell, and they had finished their task. Poppy turns around to run towards Demacia, but one of the assassins is standing in front of her. This was not how it went. This was wrong. She had made it to Demacia. The assassins had not been able to find her. She had delivered the helm, telling the general to give nothing for the helm. Nothing was worth her loss.
"Going somewhere girl?" The assassin chuckled, looking down at Poppy.
"What is this? This is not how it is supposed to go!" Poppy grits her teeth, pulling Whomper from her back.
"Come then butcher, you'll find your death by my hand!"
Then suddenly, the assassin lets out a laugh and looks down at the yordle with a grin.
"Why do you want to join the League Poppy?"
Poppy blinks, pointing her hammer at the assassin.
"What do you mean?! YOU TOOK MY FATHER FROM ME!"
"Why do you want to join the League?" The figure repeats.
Poppy suddenly realizes where she was. This was not reality, but a memory. A warped one.
"To crush Noxus with my father's hammer!"
"Why do you want to join the League Poppy?" The figure repeats once more.
Poppy looks up at the assassin one more time. Why did she want to join the league? It wasn't as simple that.
"To bring justice to my father's memory. To find those who butchered him all those years ago. And to represent my home land."
"How does it feel, exposing your mind?"
"There isn't much left to expose. I have nothing left to hide. Only thing left in my mind... is hatred towards Noxus. I will make sure this does not happen again."
"Welcome to the League, Ambassador Poppy."
Then the figure was gone, and she was back in the reflection chamber. Sighing, she lifts Whomper to her shoulder and looks up. She would find those responsible. She would bring them to justice. With her grim determination returning to her face, she nods and walks into the League.
