10th of May, 23 CLE
Slightly over a week had passed since Demacia had repelled the attack of the Shadow Isles when Poppy appeared at the gates of Bandle City. She looks rather tired, yet her stride was as official and determined as ever. She is wearing her armor except for her left gauntlet and her left arm is slung in a cloth and covered in a hardened wooden cast to make sure she keeps it still until the bones have healed. She approaches the gate and looks at the guards.
"I assume I do not need to be searched or such before entering, correct?"
"Of course not Ambassador, go on in. Welcome home."
She walks inside the gates and heads through Bandle City, making her way to the city hall, merely nodding at anyone who were to welcome her home. She enters the city hall and looks at the receptionist.
"I would like to have a talk with the mayor, is he present at the moment?"

The receptionist looks up from her papers, seeming bored. The sight of Poppy is a mild shock, though. She adjusts her glasses and blinks a few times, smiling a little for the first time in a while.
"Well, hello Ambassador. It's good to see you back in one piece I'm sure Dennison would love to see you. He's in his office at the moment. The door is open!"
Now beaming happily, she presses a button on the microphone in front of her and speaks into it softly.
"Mister Bwill, I believe you have just lost our little wager. Feel free to drop off the reward at my desk at any time. Oh, and do take time to give miss Poppy a kind hello."

Poppy nods at the receptionist and walks to the Mayor's office, entering without any sort of ceremony.
"Hello Mayor Jadefellow. I trust you have heard the news of what has happened in Demacia...
I have decided to leave the Embassy and my work in the hands of those working with me at the Embassy for now, so I can rest and have my arm be healed again. I know the summoners could simply heal it without concern, but... I prefer a more natural way."
She sits down in a chair and places Whomper against the chair's side, looking over to the Mayor.
"I doubt that the Embassy will require me that much... not with how close our two nations are currently. How are things over here in Bandle City?"

Inside his office, the mayor is surrounded by more than the usual mountains of paper. Several officials pop in to grab papers and leave every so often, and Dennison himself is busily writing away and inspecting various documents. When Poppy arrives he doesn't even look up, until she speaks that is. When she does so he immediately stops and looks up in surprise.
"Oh, Poppy! Why, hello there! It's great to see that you're here, and still in one piece. We have heard of the occurrences in Demacia, and I'm very proud of the assistance you were able to give. I really should write and tell them how deeply sorry Bandle City is for not being able to provide more for them, but we're just so busy here ourselves. The world is a much more dangerous place than it once was, and we're going through the necessary precautions in case an invasion were to hit our city. Thanks to the combined efforts of our Rumble and Piltover's Ezreal, actually, we managed to create a device to warn us in case a Void presence were to appear near Bandle. We've gotten the dishes set up on various rooftops in town, which you may have seen on your way in. More troops are being stationed around our borders as well. After one occurrence about a month ago with someone intoxicating over eighty percent of the town, it occurred to me that we are fatally unprepared. Luckily Veigar has kept to his word and hasn't caused any disturbances lately, though I can't say the same about Lulu. You've seen that store she's set up outside our gates, I presume?"
The mayor pauses to take a breath and smile. His Ambassador is home safe, and it is a great relief for him. Lately he's been very stressed out, but hopefully things won't be as hectic in the near future.

"I have not actually. I did not enter through the front gates, for it would be nigh-impossible to get here by land in the amount of time my travel took.
But the Fae Sorceress is the least of our worries at the moment. Demacia has countless dead soldiers and civilians, and the outer walls of the city are in ruins. The Lightshields are safe as far as I know, but there seems to be a bit of restlessness in the city due to the League not appearing sooner than they were able to.
The Void is not the only enemy Bandle City needs to prepare for. We need to prepare also for attack from sea by the Shadow Isles. They also seem to have the Eternal Nightmare on their side, for his Paranoia was spread upon the Golden City during the assault. Luckily, no champions were lost in the fight."
Poppy sighs and shakes her head. The League had it's work cut out, yet it couldn't be everywhere at once.
"Also, Veigar should watch his back. Last I checked, the Piltover Enforcer was after him, and you know how Vi does "arrests", don't you Mayor?"
She chuckles a bit before continuing.
"Wait, someone intoxicated most of the city? How did that happen?"

Dennison lets out an exasperated sigh with this news, though he already knew much of it thanks to the Scouts and Megling units. It certainly isn't the news he'd like to hear.
"Somebody tainted the city's water supply. Our scientists did extensive research to figure out the culprit, but unfortunately we've had little results. A small cask was found at the scene of the crime, containing unknown fingerprints. However, the traces of liquid inside matched that of a compound in the water, as well as an ingredient used in Gragas' brews. We interrogated the large man, but there wasn't much we were able to get before we were forced to release him. As you might guess, the captain Teemo believes that Fizz is the one behind it, considering he was in the city at the time and he... has caused a few minor influxes in the past. Either way, we don't have enough evidence to make a solid claim.
I'm not too worried about Veigar, by the way. We never swore to protect him, only to allow him to move about the city as he pleases so long as he causes no trouble in our name. And Lulu has been cooperating decently enough where she isn't as big of a threat as we thought.
The Shadow Isles, now... yes, I was told by Rumble, Teemo, and Titus that there was a possibility of invasion. If the nightmare is with them I can only imagine the destruction they may cause. Our naval units have been doubled recently, something you may have seen on your way here since that is the way you came in. Security measures, as I said, are becoming more strict and there are now larger patrols inside the city. We may not be able to hold back a total onslaught... but I'm hoping that at the very least we will be able to evacuate if the need comes."
The mayor sighs deeply and sits back in his chair, seeming much older and more frail than he had during Poppy's last visit. The stir of recent events was taking its toll on him.

"I see. Well, I will be around the city for a fairly long time now, considering how long it takes for an arm to to heal when it's broken from shoulder to fingertips.
Is there anything else you want me to... give details about, considering Demacia and recent events there?"
Poppy looks around before lifting Whomper with one hand to her shoulder. It had been a long week and a half, and the mayor seemed like he'd been under a fair bit of stress recently as well. Sighing, she looks down for a moment.
"We all knew keeping those monsters simply as combatants was a bad idea from the League, didn't we?
They were being so foolish, so overconfident in their ability to keep them in check. Yet, the next thing we knows, thousands of innocent people are murdered by the undead...
I would not be surprised anymore if the League were to respond with a slap on the wrist of the undead, rather than putting them in the place they belong..."

The mayor sits in silence for a few moments, thinking to himself behind closed eyes. When he speaks again he puts on a tone similar to that of a caring grandfather.
"The League has their ways with things, and we have ours. They've been lacking recently but... let's not worry about that. What's done is done. How about you, Poppy? Are you feeling well, despite the battles fought and travels made? It must be exhausting sometimes..."
Post by The Iron Ambassador on May 30, 2013 2:34:55 GMT -5
"Honestly Mayor, with how my life has been in the Embassy, combat is... refreshing. The League barely has need for summoning me anymore, or none of the summoners wish to at least, so I mainly deal with politics all day.
But... I am doing well I suppose. And I won't be traveling anywhere in a while so... I guess I will be staying at home for an extended time. A somewhat unusual and unfortunate way of getting a vacation..."
Poppy sighs, shaking her head. It had been some time since she had last visited Bandle City, not as long as it had been in the past, but it was still a rather extended period of time she was in Demacia for.

((Sorry about the slow posts. I'll be pretty busy for the rest of the weekend and may not be able to post much. >.<))
The mayor sighs contently through his nose, easing slowly into his chair. This would probably be his only break all week, and he wants to enjoy it.
"Ah... well, we may be very busy here, but if you ever need anything don't be afraid to come ask. Even for someone like the Iron Ambassador, an arm with a wound like that is no laughing matter. Do take care on your time off."
Post by The Iron Ambassador on Jun 1, 2013 12:21:00 GMT -5
"I wouldn't call it a wound mayor, considering the skin was not broken. Just an injury. Wounds are more often considered as cuts and stabs that cause bleeding, aren't they?
But yes, I will try and take it easy. If I can get some help, I will see if I can do some smithing... Captain Flavius will most likely be friendly enough to help, he seems to like me or something... perhaps we can continue the smithing lessons I gave him last time I was here. That'd be... abnormal."
Poppy chuckles a bit, seeming a bit less serious than usual despite her large injury. She then stands up and looks around, sighing.
"I just wish Demacia will recover. There were some... unfortunate events following the attack. Someone tried to rile up the population for a trip to the Void in hopes of becoming... "enchanted" in similar ways as the Void Walker, Kassadin. Fools..."
((Had to go check what Titus's rank is in his profile because he's had to change it a lot ._. ))
Post by Dennison Jadefellow on Jun 3, 2013 14:11:46 GMT -5
"Hmm... indeed, they are foolish to wish that. I, too, hope for a swift recovery for Demacia. They are a very strong ally of ours, one that I am hoping to keep. Unfortunately... we have no spare yordles to send to aid them at this moment. Rumors have begun spreading in Bandle of what might happen should we be attacked as well. Most don't speak of them openly, but they certainly have reached my ears. By moving our troops closer to home, into our lands even, I'm hoping that the city folk will remain calm and keep faith should something go amiss.
At any rate... if you would like, I suppose I can relieve Titus of his duties and appoint him as a personal guard for you until your arm has healed. You're a very capable woman, yes, but in times like these I don't want to take any chances. The choice is still yours, but I would be grateful if I could be informed every so often that you're doing alright."
The mayor pauses to glance at a clock on the wall before he returns to his papers, ears still perked up to listen to the ambassador.

"Hah... I am sure he would like that... whatever you feel is the best mayor. No doubt he'd find some way to try and get to meet me in any case."
Poppy moves Whomper down from her shoulder and down to the ground, leaning it against the chair. She walks over to a window looking out of the office, sighing.
"It will take some time getting used to Bandle City again...
The Golden City is quite a place to live at, as one can imagine. It will be rather... odd to be back at home for a very extended period of time without need to return to Demacia.
Well, I don't think I should keep bothering you for much longer Mayor. If you need me... I'm certain you know where to find me."
Post by The Iron Ambassador on Jun 4, 2013 16:41:23 GMT -5
"Good luck with all of your work Mayor Jadefellow."
Poppy lifts Whomper up to her shoulder again and walks out, nodding at the receptionist on her way out before stepping out to the streets of Bandle City. She makes her way through the streets returning greetings to those recognizing her in her usual, somewhat non-yordle and serious fashion.
As she reaches the Smithy, she steps in and leaves Whomper on the couch in the living room as she makes her way into her old bedroom and starts to change from her armor into something more casual, sighing contently. Finally, she would be able to take a long break without having to worry about her work in Demacia. Perhaps... she could find some of the joy that her life has missed since her father died. Perhaps she could return to her smithing once her arm had healed...
