High above in the clouds Kayle soared, her mighty wings carrying her easily to her destination as her hair whipped slightly in the wind. Demacia, the pinnacle of justice to most. Kayle admired what Demacia did... however, even she knew the "justice" of Demacia was corrupt to a certain degree. She knew because the people of this realm, down to the very core of their being, were corrupt... in one way or another. Kayle sighed a little and kept on flying until the massive city finally came into view.
Kayle continued to fly, slowly descending until she landed just outside of the Demacian gates. The guards of the gates looked between one another, very familiar with The Judicator, and her power. The stepped aside and let the gates open. Kayle nodded to the two of them and walked on into the city, her wings folded against her back. Kayle simply strolled through the city streets, catching glances and stares from the Demacian people. Occasionally, she would cast a faint wave as her eyes scanned the area. She was simply visiting is all, for now, at the very least.

Galio soared above the rooftops of Demacia, doing his daily rounds of the city-state of Demacia. While it was not entirely necessary, it brought him back to older times. When Durand was alive. Seeing people point, wave, and smile at him as he did his rounds gave him no small amount of joy. At least, as much joy as can be brought to one who failed before.
Looking down on one of his final circuits of the city, he noticed something unusual. White, feathered wings. Coming in for a second pass, he recognized fellow champion Kayle. He swung around a third time and landed in front of her on his back legs, drawing the attention of all those nearby. Stepping forward and folding his wings, he nodded in greeting.

Kayle continued to wander through the city, her eyes flickering across the tall structures and buildings until she caught a glimpse of something. A second look confirmed it. Galio, The Sentinel's Sorrow, was making his way towards her. Kayle held no strong opinion of Galio, though she had to admire his dedication to the protection of Demacia's people. Kayle watched the gargoyle fly down and land in front of her. "Sentinel." She replied, giving him her own nod. "I am merely visiting." She then went on. "It has been a while since I took a break from the Institute, I figured Demacia would be a nice place to visit."

The concept of taking breaks was foreign to Galio. He never tired, or at least not in the same way that others did. Demacia and its populace always needed to be protected, and when he was not on the Fields of Justice, he was dutifully doing just that.
In response to Kayle, he noted, "Demacia I am told is very pleasant this time of year. The flora and fauna are blooming, and the weather is comfortable at nights though warm during the day. However, you have arrived at an inopportune time. We are still recovering from the invasion of the Shadow Isles and as such we all are grim and slightly on edge."
"You do not mind if I accompany you?" He asked in way of finishing. Having said more than he was apt to say in a normal day, he fell silent and fell in beside Kayle, making sure to walk slowly so as not to outpace her.

Kayle frowned when he mentioned the devastating attack on Demacia. "I... regret not aiding you.." she said, furrowing her brows slightly. She sighed, and looked back up at the sky, brushing a few strands of her hair from her face. She stared directly at the sun, her mind seeming to wander for a moment. She closed her eyes... and just for a split second, she was home again.
Only did Galio's voice break her trance, turning to face him once more. "My apologies." She said, stretching her wings out absentmindedly. "I see no issue with your company, Sentinel." She then said, giving the gargoyle a nod.

Galio walked beside the Judicator in contemplative silence. He admired her for her striving for justice over everything else. In that way they were similar.
As they walked, Galio ignored the stares they were receiving. While Kayle had received her share of attention while alone, two champions--and ones who stood out from the crowd easily at that--received double the attention. He did not mind it at all, even if people dropped what they were doing and turned their heads to watch them pass by. Attention, unwanted or not, was par for the course being a champion of the renowned League of Legends.
One such individual who held Kayle in high regard, stepped out in front of the duo with a bouquet of assorted flowers clutched tightly in his hands. A well-dressed young man, blushing from head to toe, proffered the flowers to Kayle, and before she could say anything, blurted, "These aren't from me, if that's what you're thinking." He paused, and took a breath, gathering his wits. "These are from my family. As a simple gift for your work for justice." He held them out, still blushing from all the attention of passersby and other onlookers.
Galio, more than a little surprised at the young man's outburst, watched for Kayle's reaction. He wondered at the young man's actions. No one offered him flowers. But then again, what would he do with such things?

Kayle let her mind wonder back as her and Galio walked... her thoughts of home... the clouds in which she walked upon, thoughts of when she was a child... she closed her eyes, if only for a moment than to take in what she missed so dearly once more. However, once again she was shaken from her thoughts; a man, no more than twenty, was holding flowers before her. She blinked, scanning him from head to toe before her eyes fell on the delicate bouquet in his hands. When he spoke to her, she blinked once more before reaching out and accepting them. She ran a delicate hand over the beautiful plants, careful to do them no harm. Flowers had always intrigued Kayle... the clouds on which she walked upon back home could not house such lovely, elegant things.
A smile slowly formed on her face as her soft, sapphire eyes fell back on the man. "You have my thanks." She spoke softly and warmly, giving the man a nod.

As she accepted the gift, he nodded nervously a twice before turning on his heel and disappearing from whence he came with quick strides. He did not waste any time, and before long had mingled with the crowds and was gone. Those who had witnessed the even, stared in wonder at the young man's courage, and few of them (men it should be noted) were a little jealous of his pluck.
Galio had not made a move the entire time the interaction happened. He stood silently analyzing the citizen's motives, the significance of the flowers, and how it all worked together. Being a stone golem, the actions of humans and other creatures baffled him at times. This was one such time.
Watching the man disappear in his hurried manner, Galio turned to Kayle, and asked in a sincere voice, "Judicator, enlighten me. What is the significance of this gift? I am not used to such gifts being given, nor the reasons why."

"Thanks, I suppose." Kayle said, looking at the flowers in her hand. "A gift is to show appreciation, to show good deeds do not go unnoticed." Kayle smiled a little, her sapphire eyes flickering over to Galio for a moment. "Quite honestly, you deserve these more than I. You have done more for these people than I ever have." Kayle replied truthfully, looking out across the towns people as they went on their way. "All of Demacia's champions deserve this more than I."

"Good deeds do not go unnoticed," Galio silently mused to himself. And yet, how many in fact did? Many, he had to assume. But that did not stop them, nor would it stop him. As for deserving a gift of appreciation, he did not know if he truly did. Perhaps it was the giver that decided such things and not the receiver. It would make more sense for it to be that way, since certain individuals thought more highly of themselves than they ought.
Out loud in response to Kayle, he stated in a matter of fact tone, "You do deserve this gift, as much as I do, Kayle. First of all, I would not be able to appreciate such a gift nor know what exactly to do with it. And secondly, I believe your dedication to justice should receive thanks from everyone, and not just those in Demacia."
He fell silent and walked beside her deep in thought after he had spoken. Though his day had started out normally enough, now it brought him fresh ideas to consider since the Judicator walked by his side.

The Demacian invasion flickered back to her mind... and her absence from it... it caused her to furrow her brows. No, she didn't deserve anything from these people... but it's not like she could stop them from giving it to her. She sighed, she may have failed once... but she would not let the damned roam free again. Not with an answer from her. Her eyes flickered up to Galio when he spoke of her, and she couldn't help a small smile forming on the edge of her lips. "I... thank you." She said, continuing along side him as they walked.

At Kayle's statement of her thanks, Galio glanced over at her. He noticed the slight smile on her face, and though he would seem to be slow on the uptake to the casual observer, his keen intelligence picked out true gratitude in her expression. This did however cause him to wonder why she did not come to Demacia's aid when it was in need. Most likely the Institute stood in her way. If stone could frown, he would have. At times, it seemed the Institute did not in fact stand for justice at all. But whatever Demacia chose about the League, he would stand by. It was his duty.
All this introspection happened while they walked down the street. The sentinel did not speak nor make a sound, instead preferring unspoken companionship to nonsensical chatter.
