Biography:
Early life
As a child, Ray did not have a rough time being raised. Living in Piltover at the time, both of his parents had moderately decent jobs that kept food on the table and more. Even though he did live a somewhat pampered life, this did not prevent him from staying out of trouble with the law. Ray developed a habit of taking what was not his, even though he knew what he was doing was wrong. His kleptomania lasted until he was the age of thirteen when he stole a peace-keeper's side arm. He shot it off once before the man realized it was missing. Ray was taken to the station and punished for his misdeed. In the following years, he stopped stealing, however he developed a new obsession, guns. His parents completely endorsed his new found interest in an attempt to keep him away from his old ways of stealing. They bought him whatever he asked for, and he was happy. However, money can't buy everything.
Adolescent years
The Piltover police department received a new model of rifles that interested Ray heavily. When he went to go ask where he could purchase such rifle, the officers informed him that they would not be sold to civilians and that they were for peace-keepers only. This did not sit well with Ray, he had gotten everything he wanted up till now. He thought long and hard for a way to get that rifle, and then it came to him. Steal it. His old ways caught up to him, except now, he had better means of getting what he wanted. Gun in hand, Ray approached an officer asking one last time if he could buy the rifle off him, when he answered no, Ray raised his pistol and threatened the man for it. When he still did not comply, there was no other option. Ray shot the man in the stomach. When the officer collapsed, with no remorse in his heart, Ray took the rifle and fled from the scene. This event triggered a new way of thinking. If he didn't have the money to buy something, he'd steal for it, if it wasn't for sale, he'd steal it. The best way to steal things was with guns. Ray, with his new rifle model and two side arms, began committing petty crimes all throughout Piltover. When his face became a some-what known, he began wearing a mask to keep his identity unknown. The mask did end up doing its job, nobody knew that Ray Famas was committing these crimes, however he became known by a different name, Dead Bolt.
Later Years
Dead Bolt had become a feared name in Piltover, stores closed earlier, police patrols were more frequent, and the new chief of police enforced stricter rules. These rules made it all but too hard for Ray to continue his life of crime in Piltover. And so, he left the city-state. Traveling town by town, Bolt robbed stall merchant to lone travelers on the road. He took anything of value from all of them, anything that could be sold to keep his equipment in working condition.
Recent Events
While traveling, Ray was approached by a man that had a proposition for him. The man first told him of vast treasures buried deep within the sand of the Shurima Desert, but one such treasure required three keys. He told him that one such key can be found in Piltover, within its sewers. It was nothing special, he reassured, just valuable to those who knew what it unlocked. He gave him a sketch of the object, along with a rather large sack of gold. He said that what he had given him was only a fraction of what the treasures could offer. Ray agreed to help, almost immediately, for the gold was too tempting an offer to refuse and if the man was telling the truth, he would never have to worry about not having enough money to buy ammo again.
It wasn't long before Ray found the old key in his state's sewers, he had frequently navigated them in the past when escaping the law and knew his way around. After retrieving the key, Ray made his way to Shurima to cash in. When he arrived, there was two others with similar keys. Figuring out that more than one person was hired for the job made him a bit troubled, would all four of them be splitting the treasure? The question was quickly answered when the deal turned out to be a fake. Thugs started walking out from the darkness coming from all directions towards the three. Clearly outnumbered, Ray turned and looked at the other two that were next to him, the two did the same. With the help of the Runaway Shadow Ninja, Kin Yamizawa, and the Dark Magics Sorcerer ,James Hyers, he fought back the thugs and commandeered the underground Shurima base.
Two months after the incident, the trio have been pulling off minor robberies all throughout RuneTerra, using their base in Shurima as a hide-out. The three have started planning and preparing for bigger and more dangerous heists. Though Ray isn't sure why the two turned to the same life he did, he is positive that the three will become the most feared bandits in RuneTerra history.
