Orange light had broken across the landscape as the sun peeked over the horizon to the days new beginning. The fragrance of moisture in the air, amplifying the perfumes of flowers blossoming in the beautiful summer morning. The sound of morning birds chirped and dashed through the air, energized by a peaceful nights rest. The distant sound of hooves trotting through the tall grass of the forest floor as deer and small boar would graze on the grass and drink in the sweet dew left over from the night.
Among the serene morning, the sound of a Shakuhachi flute would play gently through the air, casting a more peaceful atmosphere on an already comforting one. It gave reason to stir to the sleepy beings who could hear it, drawing in their attention to bring them closer.
A lone being, no more than 4'5 sat atop a large, mossy rock with the golden beams of sunlight pouring in across her tiny form. Against her leg rested a cane, perfectly sized for her to use as a walking stick. The larger flute sang a melody of morning, whispering of untold tales and travels of the unusual creature. Her features were distinctly Ionian, with a body that appeared proportionate despite her tiny stature. She seemed human, if not for the unusual feline ears drooped at the side of her head, and the slender tail that softly sway behind her, lifting into the air just as a butterfly would pass by. Her hair was ginger red, along with her tail, and her eyes closed as she seemed lost in the music she played.
Her clothing was distinct to Ionia, and simple. Something a commoner would wear everyday. She was barefoot, with feet worn from walking everywhere. Calloused and hardened on the soles for the long travels she had taken across Ionia. Should anyone venture in to listen, they would find the melody to be captivating, and soothing. It carries with it both stories of tragedy, and hope. But mostly, it was filled with peace.

Zed's usual burning crimson eyes were closed as he sat cross-legged in a small clearing, his head bowed, total silence all around him. Not a singe rustle of leaves, nor the sound of any kind of animal. It was as if they had been scared off by the presence of the man who sat as if meditating. Trying to clear his mind completely of anything and everything, yet no matter how often he tried, ever since taking possession of the Box of Shadows once more... A quiet whisper was ever present in his mind, the voices of past users of the arts. Whispering to him, yet always unable to be understood as if speaking in a foreign tongue. Zed tried to meditate, to make out the words the whispers made in the silence.
With the sound of the flute floated through the air, a simple sound that drowned the whispers from his mind. It was unexpected, confusing at first. Zed's eyes slowly opened as he came out of the medative state. Crimson eyes looked to flicker into existance behind the mask he wore, slowly he turned his eyes in the direction the music came from. The Master of Shadows stands, his blades retracted within their arm guards as he slowly walked through the trees to the sound. Curiousity driving him to find out who was in the area slight paranoia implanting the thought that it may simply be a trap since he was no longer in Shadow Order's territory. He moved on regardless, the early morning sun casting long shadows throughout the forest making the ninja seem more at home there than in the clearing.

Perhaps it was the fulfilling scenery that had presented it self in this early sun rise, perhaps the enjoyable smell of the cheery blossoms or perhaps even the sound of birds chirping with their foot firmly grasped to the branches. Through not appreciated territory that Shen preferred to tread his foot on, his investigation have taken him from paths he normally walks. The very sound of a wooden instrument, a flute to be exact.
He finds himself walking closer and closer to the source of the echo, unfamiliar territory meant the utmost caution. He kept his foot light and stepped, when he had gotten to a certain proximity, Shen noticed something irregular, he drew his blade and walked forward slower then before, opportunities tend to present themselves to the patient and prepared mind, as he always believed.
The shadow was something that ninjas relied on, it assisted in their task, smoke drew attention, darkened night was the call sign for slaughter. No matter how inseparable they are, they are not one and the same. But, what is words to his ambitious kin? He went forward, not like a moth to the flame, through Zed might suggested it so should he bear witness, but they both lay on uncharted territory and it will be the element of surprise that counts.
Sun crept through the leaves and trees, and even with the long shadows cast below, Suk had taken refuge in the trees above for sleep. What could have possibly been a chance to sleep in a little bit more was cut off as the sun creaked through nature's blinds to wake him. He groaned slightly as he opened up his eyes, but only at the sounds of music being played did he really wake up.
He sniffed the air slightly, his reptilian snout taking in the smell of morning air and nature's scent. He got up slowly on the branch, stretching as much as he could without falling off the thing. He turned to his right, seeing the handle of his violin case holding onto a branch strong enough to support the weight of the object. He turned his head to the source of the music, and by leaning to the left and right, he could only catch a glimpse of the person. Though from this distance it was to hard to see the distinct feline features on the woman's body.
He grabbed the edge of his hood, bring it up and pulling it forward to obscure his face. He always had his hood up for these situations. Sure there were yordles, Marai, and many other horrifying creatures of the Void, but not many every day people could accommodate to the sight of a lizardman. Even some of the monks had been frightened when they saw him for the first time. He began to slowly scale down the tree, not wanting to go too fast and wind up falling. He set his feet upon the ground, looking over towards the direction in which he heard the music.
He began to walk towards the music, tail tucked under the black robes he wore. He kept to the trees, staying behind him so that he wouldn't be seen. Though at the same time, he didn't even know of the two ninja in the area. He stayed quiet, and as he got closer, he leaned to the side just a tiny bit to get a simple peak at the musician.
The little yordle's eyes dart this way and that, full of wonder and excitement. Ionia was proving to be more amazing by every minute, Teo wondering what it may have been like if his family had never sent him away. A scent of dew and fresh flowers greet him as he and his pseudo-father trot down the forest path, illuminated by the awakening daylight. The young bard had awoken Yoshi early that morning so they could start their travels early, eager to learn more about the land he'd been born in.
His movements stop with the twitch of an ear, picking up a strange yet familiar sound. Without bothering to speak up, Teo turns to the noise and strays from the path to seek it out. Music like this was fascinating for the young one, and he'd only heard it in his heart before. Perhaps whoever is playing may know something about his magical abilities? The thought only makes him move quicker, though very quietly, the years of living in the forest cautiously showing in his movements.
After a good bit of running he can hear the music clearly now. Who would be playing such a calming melody? He stops at a tree stump to sit down and catch his breath, though waiting to breath is certainly not what he plans to do. The bard pulls out his own flute, looking down upon it as if searching for something. A moment later Teo takes in a calming breath and puts the instrument to his lips, attempting to enhance the music with his own counter melody.
((I'm with Teo so I'm the third musician to come in! STAY OUT SONA! [Just kidding].))
"Teo! TEO!?" echoed the voices of a yordle musical conductor. Out of gratitude for his little musician, Yoshi and Teo alone traveled to Ionia for the same reason of tranquility and balance. Ionia is amazing on paper but even the word "amazing" is too pathetic to describe the archipelago's stunning landscapes! His search for Teo slows even more with each passing tree and plant Yoshi has to mesmerize himself in.
But the search for Teo comes to a halt and Yoshi has no clue on what to do. Sitting on a soft patch of grass, he takes off his top hat and lets himself go to listen to the soft rustling of the wind.
Teo, where are you?
The winds suddenly pick up a soft melody coming from the east. The left ear wiggles and Yoshi is suddenly drawn into the still melody ((Amaya)). Yoshi then veers off from the usual path to find the source of the music. With each step, the sound increases in volume and soon Yoshi can hear the music clearly.
Another melody radiates from an unknown area and hits the right ear, causing it to wiggle ((Teo)). Both of them sound so similar and so peaceful but Yoshi couldn't tell which one is Teo, or even if any one of the music is Teo. He takes a few careful steps and to identify himself to the rest, Yoshi picked up his wand, conjured up a magical flute, and starts playing the third melody in hopes to attract anyone who might love the sound of music.
((The three, which I imagine, are in a certain spot that make up a perfect equilateral triangle.))
Almyra had been wandering as she usually does. Making observations, watching the changes in variables, making notes as strings tugged and pulled each other, and as ripples grew to tsunamis. She had, in fact, recently returned to Ionia to deposit her notes in their usual hiding place. She was likely going to once again depart from Ionia. There were too many more variables on the mainland to want to stay in Ionia for any extended period of time. As she traveled, she heard a melody being played, on what instrument she was unsure. It was soon joined by two others. She decided to investigate, sensing something approaching the area as well. She was not aware of what it was, or of the ninjas or others approaching, she was only aware of the high probability that something was going to happen, something... interesting. A potential variable to be accounted for, and a large one at that. Ripples were being formed in causality, whether or not they would grow had yet to be determined. She must observe more. She continued walking along, approaching the source of the music.
The slight changes in the animals around her gave her indication of a new presence. They had draw somewhat distant to one side of her amplified by the rustle of the trees slightly muffled by something standing in front of part of them. Something far taller then her, she suspected.
Then another. A quiet presence hiding out of view. She didn't need to see them to sense something had stirred the animals on the other side of her. Still, she played on not feeling like she was in any kind of danger. The sweet rhythm that played, sang like a treasured song through the trees.
Suddenly, another flute joined. She had played with the monks who took her in and raised her, creating harmonious tunes for their monastery to help with meditation and the soothing Kata practiced everyday. To hear it again, coming from a new, unknown source added to the tranquility of the moment and Amaya was absolutely lost in the sound. She adjusted her tune slightly to blend more smoothly with Teo's music.
Then out from another direction, another flute is added. Her cheeks take on a slight blush as she feels the waves of the music wash through her. Her eyes remaining closed throughout the time they all played together, becoming more and more pulled away from reality and into a meditative state. Her tail swung in sync with the flow of the music, allowing the melody to consume her.
Almyra drew closer, stirring her ear slightly as if she could hear her despite the music that played. Those could sense her aura would see it growing in strength as the music played. It gave Amaya an image, allowing her to envision the area by how the music danced through the trees, and along the grass. How the leaves sway with the soft tug of the wind. She was 'seeing' in a sense, if only by her imagination.

Zed paused as he heard the various other players beginning to play their instruments from various points in the forest, the faint calling of someone in the distance. He doesn't move toward them, only moving toward the soothing sound of the original flute player. He moves through the shadows of the trees and the light of the sun, not bothering to hide or try surprise the flute player. Eventually he would come across the area the small woman was in, confusion flickering across his features as he studied her sitting upon the rock. He could see her aura, glowing brightly and intensifying as the music played and flowed through her, it was an unfamiliar calm aura, but it was also powerful. He doesn't hide his presence from her as he approaches, wondering if she would even notice him as she seemed so lost in her music. He would wait here, until she stopped playing simply allowing himself the rare pleasure of enjoying music.
Shadow people follow him everywhere he goes. Looking over his shoulder, the paranoia flows.

If one's strength is not yet great, then let there be many. The various rhythms had lent their way to Shen's ear, like a naturally constructed ensemble. Instead of probable chaos, the situation has turned itself into a musical festival. It had indeed peeked the azure ninja's interest as he stepped closer towards the original source of the instrument. As he walked closer, the presence had presented herself on top a rock, through with that, came other twisted scents.
"I suspected it was you." Simple words, but perhaps enough, in fact, Shen himself wondered why he notified him of his presence, but if they came for the same purpose, then at least no violence should occur until the music drew to a close. The usual precaution is of course taken, but Shen himself would pay attention to the harmony that had presented itself in this rare instance, to a stance close to indulgence, through not indulgence.
Suk kept walking forward, keeping to the trees to hide himself. He had actually gotten close enough to see her features now, though he did his best to stay behind the tree.... Ears?? And a TAIL? Sure, feline, but at the same time excitement rushed through him. Perhaps he wasn't the only one like this. He had spent so much time in the monastery and in the mountains, he really hadn't gotten the chance to see what others were like down at the ground level of the mountain.
Though at the sound of more music coming from around them, he turned his head and looked up at the trees, listening to the music. Calming yes, but at the same time it was worrying. There were people starting to gather, and although the music was soothing and beautiful, he didn't like all this attention. What if one were to find him? Catch him out in the open? He turned his head around the corner of the tree, only to see Zed approach. His heart raced a million miles an hour, wondering what he should do. He had heard of the man, a threat to Ionia a monk said. He shrunk up slightly in fright behind the tree, just staying still... Maybe he won't see him?

Not far away, deep within the jade colored forest of Ionia, was roaming the known Nine-Tailed Fox of Valoran, Ahri. It was rather a usual day, just like all of the other days she has spent here, embracing the beauty of nature and the gifts it had to offer to the world. The Fox wandered within the majestic trees, gazing at their emerald leaves that shone underneath the golden sunlight, while her ears were attracted by the sounds of the birds chirping and the wind that danced around her.
Such a beautiful day it was, she could feel her mind and the soul of the forest mixing together as peace reigned over her own spirit, filling her heart with happiness and light as it was clearly shown on her luscious pink lips. But in between the melody of the birds, came in a mesmerizing whisper that caught Ahri's attention. It was, an uncommon melody, mixing happiness and sadness into one burst of emotions through the beautiful notes of the music, driving the Vixen curious of it.
Ahri followed through the path that led her to the source of the music, she could hear it gaining strength as she approached it. The melody filled her heart, sending her mind to a plane of peace and harmony. Once she arrived, the Vixen climbed over a tree branch and gazed upon the curious musician that seemed lost within the music as much as Ahri was. She was observing the person's fingers sliding across the odd instrument she held in her hands, while her body shivered every time that person went for the pitched notes. Such a lovely, warm music...
Ahri briefly closed her eyes as she leaned back and let the melody embrace her mind as she relaxed. But something disturbed her, something felt wrong in the air... Darkness shrouded the spirit of her surroundings and it was only growing stronger. She lifted the veils that covered her honey eyes, whom have shifted across the clearing before they have locked on the black figure of a familiar person she had seen before...
"Could it be...?"
The Fox wondered as she observed closely, with her sharp gaze, the man who stood by the musician, carefully keeping an eye on him just in case he would attempt to do anything harmful to the lone girl.
As the musicians continued to play, Almyra felt a shift of the variables. It would seem the conflicting forces were being held at bay, at least for now. Interesting... She decided that she should further look into the effects of the music. She walked further into the clearing, sat down cross legged, and closed her eyes for a moment. She began to focus her mind, then opened her eyes again. Her senses now fine tuned to better see the strings and ripples of causality. For a moment she sat, merely observing the beauty of it, then went to work making observations and mental notes. As she continued to focus, she brought her hands together in front of her, touching the tips of her thumb, index, and middle fingers. A small green ball of light began to pulsate at their tips as she let the chaos magic flow through her. She became aware of the another presence, another variable. It showed the potential for conflict, for major action, yet that was reliant upon the affects of other variables. The complexity of this situation was rising, and its possible effects expanding outward. It would seem Almyra had chosen a good time to return to Ionia.
Music to the young bard is quite a powerful tool... and drug. Ever so slowly his eyes close and his body sways with the different melodies, losing all feeling of the world around him. The moment his eyes close is the moment the real magic begins.
Over each of the musicians would flutter in an illusory butterfly: One of green over Teo, blue over Yoshi, and red over Amaya. Within the space of the triangle created by the three flutes the ambient lights would become a little brighter, the land around them seeming to glow faintly. The red butterfly shimmers and flutters down over to Zed's shoulder, where it waits calmly while the blue gracefully makes its way through the forest to the azure ninja. After the butterfly lands on Shen's shoulders, they stay and slowly open and close their wings for a moment, staring at each other as if in a silent conversation. Then the two take flight and make their way towards Amaya, hovering in a spiral pattern over her head before vanishing in the horizon.
Meanwhile, the sparkling jade butterfly leaves Teo's side and flutters into the forest, where it finds Almayra's. Softly it swirls around her once and lands gracefully on the end of her pointer finger. It looks up at her, wings slowly opening and closing for a minute before taking flight again, making another spiral around the woman before flying off in the direction of the two ninjas. However, the butterfly vanishes as soon as it is no longer in plain sight, therefore not ever appearing before Zed and Shen.
Should anyone attempt to harm the butterflies, they would find themselves unable to physically contact them, for the bugs don't actually exist. They are merely illusions created through Teo's musical powers.
The serenade resonating from his flute abruptly stops. Yoshi can sense different forces coming from all directions. Some malevolent. Some neutral. Others he can't just make out. But everywhere he looked, no one was there. Then he puts the flute to his mouth to play a special serenade.
However no sound comes out of the flute and yet Yoshi continues blowing on it with a mysterious aura filling the entire area.
The musicians would feel the aura of serenity soothing the body as if someone is massaging their shoulders. The others can feel something...but they won't make out what they're feeling or where it's coming from.
