Cordellia looked somewhat tense as she smiled somewhat nervously at Master Yi, any sense of nobility having vanished as she looked upon the Wuju Blade master. She saw him as her only chance at getting strong enough to protect those she loved... If he turned her down, what would she do? She couldn't bare to return to Demacia at the same strength, she had to become stronger somehow.
"Thank you, Master Yi." She takes in a deep breath, "I... Have a request..."
Wukong pauses mid-clean up as he hears Cordelia speak to Yi. Curious, the monkey carefully pours the last cup of tea and quickly tries to pick all three of them up before offering one to Yi and one to Cordelia. The last was his, of course.

Master Yi accepts he cup of tea from Wukong, then redirects his attention back to Cordellia. He could already tell what it was she wanted, but he would allow her to state it herself. He would probably accept it, depending upon her reasons for the request. "I see. And what would this request be?"

Cordellia accepted the cup of tea and nodded a thanks to Wukong before he turned her eyes back to Master Yi. She looked away briefly, feeling almost ashamed that even after her years in the Demacian military she still wasn't strong enough, "I wish... For you to train me..." She looked as him, a sad desperation creeping into her eyes, "I can not defend my friends, family and other loved ones if I am not strong enough. If.. If I get strong enough, I can join the league. I can fight there, upon the fields of the league instead of leading my soldiers and friends to their deaths upon the field of battle. I thought I was strong enough..." Her voice breaks slightly as she holds back the tears of shame, "I was proven wrong, I am not strong enough yet... But, with your guidance, I believe I can make it. So that there are no more needless deaths that can be avoided."
Wukong paused as he went to sip the hot tea, looking from Cordelia to Yi before lowering it to speak, "Death is unavoidable." Glancing at Yi with a light chuckle, "Unless you're Master Yi!" The monkey set the tea down and bounced around a bit, moving around Cordelia and Yi with a quizzical look on his features, "Why do you think you're not strong enough?" Standing beside her, he'd straighten and adjust his armor slightly with a cheeky grin, "You don't look weak! But we can test that!" Yep, he just challenged her.

Yi listened to her request, and the reason why she wanted training. It was not much of a surprise. Perhaps he could partially redeem himself for abandoning his own people by allowing her to defend her own. Even without that reason, he was willing to train almost anyone, so long as their cause was good. "A noble cause indeed. I will train you, regardless of how strong or weak you are now." He chuckled at Wukong's statement. "Well, it would seem Wukong wishes to spar. When you both are ready, we can see what you are capable of, Cordellia."

Cordellia looked somewhat anxious as Wukong challenged her. A small glimmer of sadness in her eyes as she recalled being defeated by Xin Zhao so easily, "I... Was beaten by someone I thought I could match. They defend Demacia constantly on and off the fields." She gave Wukong a small smile, "Death is unavoidable, but it doesn't mean I can't try and protect my friends and family from it."
She looked somewhat anxious as Master Yi declared that Wukong and Cordellia would spar, Wukong was a champion, the same as Xin Zhao. She gave a small nod, a look of determination in her eyes, "My armor is outside. Once I get it, I can begin where ever you want."
"Defeat is a part of learning." Wukong said sagely, folding his arms with a growing smile plastered across his lips, "Being beaten isn't bad! It's normal! There is always someone better. Even better then me! But someday, I will be the best." He paused, tapping his chin with an eyebrow lifted slightly, "Being at the top can be boring if there's nobody left to challenge. Just keep that in mind."
The Monkey King gave Yi a cheerful smile, glad to see he's still willing to teach. And Wukong could possibly learn some new things, too! He had no idea how Cordellia fought, so he was sure he was in for a treat.

Yi noticed Cordellia's anxiety over sparring with Wukong. "This spar isn't about victory or defeat. It is about learning. I simply wish to see how it is you fight, so we can work with what you know already." He nodded when she said she had left her armor outside. "When you are ready, you may retrieve it. There is no need to rush things."
Master Yi had forgotten how much he enjoyed teaching until Wukong approached him. He was happy to teach yet another student. Teaching not only is an opportunity to learn for the student, but for the teacher as well. Hopefully Wukong would not go too hard on Cordellia at first. Yi knew just how disorienting it can be to fight the Monkey King.

She left to go outside to retrieve her armor, she looked shocked at how grimy it was. The dirt in the joints would make the light armor hard to move in effectively. Cordellia knelt to pick it up, her eyes studying the light armor. with a sigh she bundles it up in her arms and moved to the entrance of the dojo, showing Wukong adn Master Yi how filthy it was, "I would like to clean it first. Fighting with my armor in this state would do more harm than good."
Wukong looked at the armor, then Cordelia, "Is it needed?" He questioned. He'd pull off his armor and sets it aside on a stand, taking great care to ensure it wasn't bunched up. It didn't look heavy, but it certainly was. A combination of leather, and heavy metals made up the armor he wore. The creek on the stand would be enough to suggest as much.
He stripped off his shirt and gauntlets, leaving him in a pair of loose linen pants with bare feet, "It's just a spar!" Unsurprisingly, the monkey was quite built beneath all that armor. His lithe muscles were surely something to admire as he twirled his staff lightly, anticipating the fight to come.

Cordellia nodded, "Sure thing." she said while placing her armor back outside out of fear that the dirt would get everywhere, "It should be fun." She would turn back and notice the monkey king without his armor, she expected him to simply not wear pants at all. She knew he would be toned, yet couldn't help but be impressed by his form, a slight smile coming to her lips. Cordellia draws her sword without saying anything, oddly falling silent as she glances away from the Monkey King for a brief moment.
Well normally he doesn't. But for the sake of not standing stark naked, he has pants on right now. He also wore bandaging around his ankles and heels as he twirled the staff about, before stamping it into the ground and grinning when Cordelia would return inside the dojo. He had no clue why she'd look away, so a curious look would be given when she does s.
"Ready whenever you are!" He said with a broad grin, lifting the staff to rest it across his shoulders with his wrists hung across the top near the ends.

Cordellia's eyes watch his muscles flex as the staff is moved across his shoulders, certainly more toned than she expected. Her sword would begin to glow a soft white color and cracks snaked out along the blade, "Ready." At once her sword would look to shatter, sending shards of metal flying toward the Monkey king. As Yi observed he would no doubt feel that the usage of such an ability wasn't focused Ki or magic, but raw force of will. The energy used was laced with a subtle anger, almost the complete opposite to what most of Ionia used. The fact that it was fueled by such a raw unrefined force drained her energy significantly.
Perhaps there was a different method of using the abilities that didn't draw on such a raw force that Yi could teach her.

Yi observed Cordellia's sword shattering. That was indeed an interesting fighting style, though Cordellia's method of controlling the shards was far from refined. It certainly seemed to drain her a lot just preparing for combat. Still, he continued to observe, noting her strengths and flaws along the way.
