Vi shook her head. "No can do, boss man. These gauntlets stick with me. If you wanna get 'em off..." She took off at a sprint, leaping for the head of the pack with her gauntlets still pumping through the air. "C'mon and get me!" For good measure, she began jogging backwards, giving her 'commander' a cocky grin.

Girard made no reaction to Vi as he continued his steady jogging pace. Vi would eventually wear herself down, sprinting ahead like that. This was not the fields; this was a five-mile run through the streets of Zaun. Endurance conditioning and cardio-vascular exercise. Also, the first sieve through which the Noxians will sift out their recruits. Let the cocky ones dart ahead; they will eventually learn that this would cost them later on, and would fall behind. A true warrior knows when to use his strength, and when to save it for a more opportune moment.

29th of July
Andrei eventually arrived at the temporary barracks, looking at it he noticed that it was indeed temporary. He walked around the area looking for his supposed commander.
His name, Girard Laurentine rang in his head as he walked around barracks, where had he heard that name before? As he pondered on that he noticed some of the other recruits looking at his metallic right arm, he gave them a quick glance and they instantly looked away.
Once he had walked around the barracks once and not finding this 'Girard' he stood in the middle of what looked like a training field. "WHERE THE FUCK IS GIRARD?!" he shouted. His voice rang out through the field, the recruits stopped their training to look at who stood in the middle of the field.

Zac chuckled as Vi ran ahead of them in an attempt to get Girard's attention and couldn't help but laugh out loud a bit as it failed. He was definitely gonna like this Girard guy if he could ignore Vi's antics, he hoped he wasn't always such a stiff and knew how to have fun when they weren't training though.

Vi saw Girard wasn't trying very hard to stop her, so she took her pace down a bit, staying at the front of the pack but not pushing herself too hard. It may not look like it, but she had at least a bit of respect for Girard; but he'd still have to earn a lot more from her. With a smooth motion, she locked her gauntlets behind her onto her back, freeing her up to move a bit more fluidly and easily.

Adal continued to run as she saw how some people where left behind she chuckled at herself thinking that many more would be left, she knew Zaun like the palm of her hand, and she even knew some of the most subtle trap it had for outsiders. The pollution along with the fact that it had ben build as close of the Ironspikes as possible made it one of the cities with the highest elevations and the lowest percentage of oxygen in the air.

Girard was keeping himself at a decent pace, slow enough that most of the recruits could still keep up with him without them getting too far winded. After all, this was their first day, and Girard was not a cruel man. However, this did not prevent many of the recruits from falling off from the group, all but gasping for air - some even collapsing in exhaustion - only after the third mile. Those who could stand were 'ushered' onward by two of Girard's sergeants, and the others who could not carry on would recieve a small check-up and brief reprieve before being thrown back into the pack. It was Girard's mission to make sure these recruits were worthy of serving Zaun, so he would make them as strong as if they were sons and daughters of Noxus herself.
Back at the camp, one of the construction workers working on what would become a more permanent structure glanced over toward the shouting recruit. "Ye just missed him. They took off on a five-mile run about....three minutes ago or so, I'd think. I'd try to catch up with them if ye can, Girard will probably let it slide then." he suggested before returning to work.

At this point in time Zac was somewhat surprised to see people dropping left and in the back during this simple jog, maybe it was the air? He noticed quite alot of people not wearing their usual gas masks outside during this excercise. Regardless, he'd keep moving forward at his own steady pace, someone had to show the other recruits that just because he was a champion didn't mean he would be such a tryhard on his first day like Vi.

Andrei looked at whoever it was that had spoken to him. He nodded and left the boot camp. Picking up his pace and ran in the direction he was pointed. His nerve augmentations allowed him to move for a longer distance without having to stop as often. Eventually he saw some recruits that straggled behind and was pushed onward by the sergeants. He ran up to the sergeants, they looked Noxian or something like that. But from what he could see neither of them were the man he looked for. He picked up his pace again, his breathing accelerated and beads of sweat began appearing on his forehead, he had pushed himself to catch up with the main group.
The number of running men increased as he got closer to the main group. He noticed some of them was breathing heavily, probably from exhaustion and not being used to the thin air. He was forced to move to the right suddenly as a man in front of him collapsed onto the ground, tripping another one as he grabbed his arm to support himself, but ended up pulling him down on the ground as well.
Andrei, despite the obstacles moved past the main group and he saw someone who looked a bit more like someone with authority... and then a giant green blob behind the man. The sight made Andrei stumble as he was forced to slow down from his rush and take a slower pace. He regained his balance and moved up to the green thing. He moved a bit to the right of it and passed it, moving up to the General.
As he jogged next to him he gave him a quick look, he looked like someone with authority, "Are you... Girard... Laruentine?" He asked, breathing heavily as the rush had taken quite a lot of his strength just to catch up to him.

Vi eventually got too far ahead on the run and jogged to a stop. She gave a quick glance around, wiping the sweat from her brow, and waited a few seconds for the group to catch up. When they did, she waited for Girard to come up besides her and then rejoined at the same steady pace. Coming up besides him, she just tried to keep cool now. "Sorry sir. Got too far ahead. Won't happen again." She wouldn't let him know, but he'd passed her test; he finally showed up on her respect radar. Just a small blip, but a blip nonetheless.
Adal kept running steadily with the group this was boring she wasn’t getting tired and this wasn’t exciting. She sighed just wishing that after a good bunch of new recruits dropped this whole pointless running would be over.

Girard nodded toward Vi, a simple acknowledgement of her presence and her commitment to not step out of line. His lips twitched slightly, almost smiling for a second before he returned to the steady run, not even breaking a sweat - partially due to his chilling aura. His head snapped to the left as one of the recruits - one who was not there during the briefing - stumbled up beside him, asking if he was, indeed, Girard.
"I am he." Girard replied shortly, before moving on to more pertinent matters. "You are one of the new recruits? It would be wise to be punctual next time, but I will permit tardiness on your first day." Hopefully, these words would be a gentle nudge in the right direction for the breathless recruit. "Well done in catching up to us, however. The run is almost over, then we'll have a short rest before the rest of the physical examinations are taken care of. Don't wear yourself out."

Andrei chuckled, he might be tired but his augments allowed him to keep up for a good while longer. As they ran he held out his robotic hand next to Girard for him to shake if he wished, "Andrei Tosya, one of the 'locals'." He said and steadied his voice. His 'Commander' had a chilly aura around him, it was cooling so Andrei didn't mind. But he decided to be cautious around him, Cryomancers and Metallic limbs didn't go too well together.
"I got plenty strength left, sir." he said and waited for the hand shake whilst running

Vi took his nod as a good sign and smiled, pulling ahead a bit and keeping pace with the other recruits. Her legs were starting to get tired, but hey, she still heard Girard mention the run was almost over. Wouldn't be long now until she'd get a chance to chill with the other recruits.
