Lavin landed on the pavement face-first, the landlord glaring angrily at him from above. "And stay out, you free-loading bastard!" With that, the door was slammed shut, and Lavin was left on the streets.
It wasn't really a big issue. So what if he had squatted in an apartment for a bit? He had his own place, it was just nowhere near as nice. If anything, it had been a good time to play hide-and-seek with the landlord. And, for certain, he had fun!
...and a bloody nose, now, but who cares?
It was time to celebrate his loss, just as he celebrated his victories! Jumping to his feet, he grabbed the company credit card and jogged off to the nearest pub. Without a moment's hesitation, he leapt through the door.
Within moments, he was at the bar. "Oi, bartender. Ring 'em up and get me a round of drinks." He handed the card to the bartender, and then glanced down the line, noticing a hottie on it. "Oh, and, uh...see her?" He pointed at the girl. "Give 'er whatever she wants, eh?"
The bartender complied, giving Lavin his own tall beer and then going down to the girl. When she glanced over as the bartender gestured to him, he waved in a nonchalant manner.
Within moments, she was up and walking towards him. He spun around on his stool and gestured openly towards her. "Hey, look, lady, did you just want a clos--" Before he could finish, there was a slap straight across his face, and he fell off his stool. As she went back to her spot, he climbed up. "So, uh, I'll call you, right?"
Getting back on his stool, not disheartened at all, he ordered another beer and began chugging it down.
Melanie who had just gotten back from her trip to Piltover where she had found out she had a brother, had been sitting in that pub for a while now, thinking of what had happened there. She looked at the man who was slapped. She chuckled and sat down next to him.
"If you want to pick up girls, you need to know how to do it correctly." She ordered herself another beer and put the coins on the table. She looked at him again, "Damn, what happened to your face?"
Lavin turned to Melanie, sizing her up. He gave her a slightly mischevious smile. "Oh, I have no clue what happened to my face, but whatever happened to yours, 'cause damn girl, I could use some of that." His grin widened. "You think you could really get me in with a girl? C'mon, give a guy a little faith." He swigged his beer. "I mean, honestly, the girls just flock to me!"
As he said that, a tall blonde walked up from behind him and tapped him on the shoulder. Turning around, he was instantly met with a backhand slap, knocking him off his stool and adding to the stinging pain of his previous slap. He found himself kneeling in front of Melanie, dragging himself up in front of her. His cocky expression was knocked out of him, replaced by a dejected frown. "Well, that was from last week. Shouldn't count."
Getting onto his stool, he took another swig from his beer. "So, really think I need a crash course, eh? Well, c'mon. I don't have all ni--no, wait, I do." He then spun on his stool and faced Melanie, giving her a friendly smile, only his eyes sparking with their mischievous glint.
She finished her beer with a swig and looked at him as he got up from the floor, she shook her head and ordered another beer. "Okay, I'll give you some tips whether you like it or not. First, drop the attitude, second, don't be cocky." She took a swig from her beer, "Name is Melanie, you can call me Mel as the rest do."
Lavin gave her a curt nod and a small two-fingered salute. "Lavin. Lavin Hastighed." He swigged his beer. "People 'round here just call me the Maverick. At least they would if they bothered calling me." He smiled. "No, but really. Nice ta meetcha." He went back to his beer. "So, you were gonna give me pointers? Not like I need them or anything..." He trailed off, obviously not meaning what he had just said.
The doors to the bar opened and a man stepped through, long dark brown leather duster hung down around his form, a large wide hat seated atop a long waist length dirty blond hair. From behind a pair of glasses, dull yellow glowing iris' circled to focus on the various things happening within the bar. The augmented man scratched the back of his neck, this'll do. Many people turned to stare at the newcomer in the bar, not because of the eyes, hat or coat... But because he had four arms, two human arms and two robotic arms attached to his back currently with their hands in his pockets.
He moved toward the bar, heavy boots hitting the ground with a dull thud with each step, his jeans decorated with various small tubes that looked to glow with the energy they held, little did anyone know, they were rounds for his four massive revolvers that were currently hidden under the duster, "Shot of whiskey would be appreciate mate." He smirked at the bar tender and slide over a few coins.
She took a swig from her beer and looked at Lavin, "Lavin it is, nice to meet ya." She heard the door open so she took a look at it. She liked knowing who entered, she noticed something odd with him, he had two hands in his pockets and two outside. "It must be the beer." she thought and took another swig.
She turned around and faced the bar again, "So Lavin, have you actually managed to hook up with a girl doing it like that?"
Lavin shook his head. "Nawp. Well, there was once...but I think she was more drunk than me." He laughed, turning his attention to the new guy.
"Hey, innit a bit early in the night for 'ard liquor? C'mon, have a beer on me, tall dark and badass." He called for a round of beer around the bar, filling up his own as well as Mel and the jug that was in front of Ozzy.
"Never to early for whiskey." Ozzy turned to Lavin and tilted his hat in greeting, "Name's Ozzy 'an I think I'll take the beer." He said with a grin. He glanced at the woman talking to Lavin, the soft yellow glow of his augmented iris' could be seen faintly as he did so, "An who might you two be?"
Downing the shot he would reach for the jug of beer and fill a mug, when he was satisfied he would drink from it and chuckle, "You in the habbit of buying strangers beer often then?"
Lavin laughed. "Only when it's on my employer's tab, mate. I'm Lavin, Lavin Hastighed, and my lovely companion," he said, gesturing to Melanie, "likes to be Mel, so she's Mel. Pleasure to meet ya, Ozzy." With that, he raised his pint in toast and began drinking it greedily.
She raised her hand slightly and nodded, she took a swig from her freshly filled glass. She looked at him now that he was closer, his two extra arms caught her attention, she decided it was better not to ask. She looked back at Lavin, "See that girl over there?" she pointed at a girl sitting down the bar alone, "She entered just before this guy over here, go and talk to her. Don't act like a douche and you'll be fine."
Lavin looked down and shrugged. "Iunno...but whatever. Sure. Talk to ya later, four-arms." He then approached the girl, sitting besides her. "Hey. How's it goin'?" He asked, giving her a curt nod.
Melanie looked at him as he went to talk to her, meanwhile she turned to Ozzy. She looked at him, all in all he looked like something the cat had dragged in, eaten then spit out, or at least she thought so. "So, Ozzy, how did you end up in here in Zaun, you don't look so Zaunite-ish." she said and took a swig from her beer glass.
Meanwhile the girl Lavin had approached flinched a little when he spoke, "Oh.. ehm.. Fine I guess, I didn't expect anyone to talk to me." She said and wiped something from her eyes, she then looked at him, her rather short black hair swayed as she turned her head. "Hi, I'm Emelie." she said and put out her hand.
Lavin nodded, not saying much. "Yea, Zaun's not the most friendly place. I know that from experience." He took her hand and shook it firmly, but not too hard. "Lavin. Lavin Hastighed. Nice to meet you, Emelie." After that, he withdrew, noticing she wiped her eyes. "Are you...okay? Have something in your eye?" All desire to hit on her was gone, leaving room for his more genuine side.
Ozzy looked to her and gave a slight grin at the question of how he ended up in Zaun, "Well, raised myself in Bildgewater, took to shooting people." He paused and chuckled, "Never to kill, only to maim, dead men tell no tales and such, so I figured, I'd take on one of the bigger badder guys who roamed there." he took a deep drink from his mug, "I won... still didn't kill 'im. Not my style. Turned out, the bastard took offense to that and hired a few guys to hunt me down.. I took of to Zaun, they got me before I got them Viktor patched me up and here I am!"
He smirked and took another drink and studied her with a raised eyebrow, "And you? What are you doin' here?" She didn't look too bad, certainly not his type though.
