July 19th, 23 CLE
A certain gambling gypsy found himself in the lands of Ionia again, regardless of how painful it made the aches in his heart resonate. It seems Destiny intended for that fateful day to echo for a while. However, Twisted Fate's face hid this pain quite well. After all he was the master of poker as well as cards. He had learned to perfect his poker face long ago, before he even met Graves. He used that face to hide the pain he felt treading on this land again.
However, no matter the pain he felt there was a certain kind of the air that Ionia had the made it easier to handle the pain. Maybe, there was something about this place that jut put one's emotion and heart to rest? Then again...some wounds like Varus and Syndra's may just be too deep to heal. The Cardmaster let out a chuckle...it was rather ironic that he came here to see if this place would help him get over Evelynn and now the same place was causing him pain. Destiny had a rather grim sense of humor with the ones she favored. Though, if there was one thing Twisted Fate could count on is that Destiny always led him to what is best for him in the very end.
Twisted Fate looked up from the ground to see a rather familiar forest. This was one of the first spots where he had stopped at when he first came to Ionia. He touched one of the trees feeling the rough, hard and healthy bark. The fluttering of the birds' wings, and how wildlife reacted to the sudden appearance of Twisted Fate. He took a breath, the air was clean and fresh...it even smelled good unlike Zaun's or Piltover's air, though even Twisted Fate had to admit that Piltover had a very clean atmosphere. It was here that Twisted Fate bumped into Ahri, here they talked and flirted for a bit. The Cardmaster was confident that he had her charmed (though witness may claim it was the other way around). However, the she ended up leaving rather suddenly, and she never did return. The Cardmaster wondered what happened to her all those months ago...perhaps she has returned? The Cardmaster wouldn't mind seeing her again, though he could do without Varus appearing and pointing an arrow at him again.
Perhaps they could trade tales of the adventures they went on, though Twisted Fate might expunge a few details here and there. Learn what there is to learn and enjoy each others company, but that depended on whether or not The Nine Tailed Fox was in these forests. For all Twisted Fate knew she could be back on the mainland or in a nearby city, regardless Twisted Fate would enjoy this walk through the woods as well as the peace and tranquility it brought him.
However, what Twisted Fate didn't know was that Destiny had a different plan laid out for The Cardmaster.

The golden sunshine shone over the lands of the Ionian forest, letting it bloom out its beautiful emerald colors that each tree held on its leaves. Though green was not the only present color, we could easily find cherry colored trees or even vanilla colored leaves that added up to the majestic canvas. But this was only a view for the birds who sore the skies above the forest, because underneath the emerald veil, lied another world, completely different from what they eyes of the skies could see.
Flowers, animals, plants... There were so much things to see, all from different colors that gave this piece of art a glorious image of itself. It was a unique view, impossible to find in any other places in Valoran. And not only did it please the eyes of any visitor, but it would please their scent, their ears and their mind. The flowers released a lovely scent that could mesmerize anyone, appeasing their mind and melting their hearts if the scent ever penetrated their nose. The different melodies that grooved in the air would help any visitor relax if they ever wanted to rest from a long journey.
To Ahri, it's a gift from nature, something that must be preserved, mostly because she has a special connection to this place ever since she was born as a white fox, an innate bond if you'd like to think of it that way. The Vixen was sitting nearby a small puddle of clear water, listening to the beautiful music that was being played around her. The soft breeze of the morning nuzzled her cheek as it softly whispered a sweet melody in her furry ears, forcing a smile to curve on the fox's lips as she closed her eyes and enjoyed the moment.
However, a strong aura lurked the area, a living presence was nearby and it couldn't be easily ignored, especially for Ahri. It seemed like a human was passing by the forest, wandering aimlessly through the trees, into the depth of nature's embrace. Ahri's amber eyes looked around her as she remained seated on the warm soil, trying to catch a glimpse of the person that was close to her. Somehow, through a careful scanning of the area around her, she noticed a familiar shape passing by. Her curiosity peaked, and it went up, so high up that it forced her up on her light feet. She followed the mysterious figure silently, hiding behind the trees whenever she had to just to keep an eye on the person without getting spotted.

Twisted Fate entered one of the many forests in Ionia, but it felt more like he was entering a painted picture. The variety of colors meshed together to provide one of the best gifts nature could provide. Twisted Fate recalled a con long ago where he managed to 'acquire' paintings of nature, and none of them could even dream to capture what Twisted Fate aw with his two eyes. The Cardmaster supposed that nothing was better than the original image itself. Furthermore, the area around him did not smell like the painting oil, rather it smelled relaxing. The flowers were still in bloom, and releasing a scent that may even relax the most paranoid nerves.
Yep...nothing could match the original. Twisted Fate silently wished that he asked where the paintings that he 'acquired' were painted at. Oh well, Destiny showed that it wasn't meant to be at that time. Twisted Fate noticed how the forest had changed a bit, it was silent as if nature wasn't disturbed by his wandering. From under his hat he caught a few animals lingering to see what human would tread into their forest. Undoubtedly curious about this stranger, of course animals had a sixth sense for danger. This made them cautious beings, and they would watch The Cardmaster from a safe distance...unsure if he meant them harm.
The wandering gypsy felt the breeze sway his long black hair back and forth a little bit. Twisted Fate's cape fluttered a bit adding it's own sound to the natural sounds of the forest. Sometimes it matched with the breeze's tempo..other times it seemed to be marching to it's own drum. Perhaps it was further indicating that the gypsy was intruding here by creating it's own beat. Nonetheless, Twisted Fate was enjoying the environment around him and kept moving forward.
The Cardmaster eventually heard the sound of a stream ahead, the faintest splashing of water could be heard. It appeared as though even the water was at peace here, and that small sound drew Twisted Fate toward the stream. Eventually, he discovered it and sat on a rock to rest for a moment. Unaware that nine fluffy tails that belonged to a certain champion were swaying absentmindly from a short distance away.

The Vixen silently followed the mysterious man that has set foot in the Ionian forest, slowly treading after his steps as she kept a low profile. The sound of the cape dancing with the breeze caught her attention, it seemed like she truly heard this sound before. But Ahri wanted to be sure of this, she wanted to have a closer look of this person, and her curiosity was itching her as it pushed her closer and closer to the man.
Suddenly, she stopped-- staring at Twisted Fate with her amber eyes while she hid behind one of the majestic trees that reigned over the forest. What was he doing here? It was quite rare to see a non Ionian champion wandering around these forests and it surprised her even more when it was the gypsy who had all the guards after him. Perhaps he was hiding from them? Or maybe he just wanted to have a break from his own hobbies? Or... he was looking for someone?
Nonetheless, Ahri remained hidden in the shade of the beautiful tree that towered over her. Keeping a close eye on the man as he sat on the rock next to the azure stream of water. However, she did not notice the fact that her tails were swaying around thanks to the cold breeze, giving out her position if Fate ever looked in her way.

Twisted Fate pulled out a canteen from his pack and opened it up. He looked inside and noticed that he was getting rather low....fortunately there was a stream a few feet away from him. He kneeled by the river and dipped his canteen in letting it fill to the brim before removing it. With that minor task complete he would take his seat on a nearby rock. He took a moment and looked around...not really sure if he should stay in this place a bit longer or get a move on he took out a card.
"Where ta' next, lady Destiny?" The gypsy asked the card, and then let it go. Wherever the card would land was the direction he would go. The card drifted through the air back and forth, almost like a swing. However, it ultimately settled at his feet, which only meant one thing. Something was going to happen here. He would meet someone he would like to see, perhaps he would see Mai again? Or did Destiny have a different plan in store for him? Had Graves or Eve tracked him here? The Cardmaster became cautious and took in his surrondings, every tree could be hiding a potential enemy or friend.
Suddenly, something white caught his eye, and he turned to look at it. He recognized not one but multiple white tails that swayed back and forth behind a tree. Unless, there was another half human and half white Ionian fox wandering around he knew who was there. He shook his head letting out a chuckle. This was completely opposite of what he would expect her to do...oh well better call out to her and let her known she is busted.
"Ah' know yer' there, cheri, ya' can't hide from me forever. Not ta' mention yer' actin' like Lux when she first saw Ezreal, n' that ain't you at all, Ah' reckon'. So how's about ya' come over here, n' we talk fer' a bit. After all it's been awhile since we've seen each other."

His remark startled her instantly as he spoke to her, but it seemed like there was something hidden in his words though she ignored it... for now. Ahri stood straight, her tails perked up towards the cyan skies as she began to tread towards the gypsy, carried by her feet as they walked over the soft soil of the Ionian lands, while her ears embraced the whispers of the stream.
She stood behind him, holding her distances just for the sake of her own safety, while her glittery amber eyes were riveted on him as they gazed at him. She never thought she'd be caught in such way, she expected to remain hidden in the decoration of the woods, then make her presence known, but it seemed like Fate's eyes were quicker than her. Although, it wasn't a big surprise since the man was always on his guard and was highly aware of his environement. But at the same time, Ahri's a predator or at least know how to act like one, she shouldn't be caught thay easily.

Twisted Fate listened to Ahri's footsteps come closer and closer..till they eventually stopped. Unlike last time...she was far more cautious. Was she afraid of him? The last time they meet she was really friendly, if not perhaps a bit flirtatious. Did he do something to upset her or was he classified as a dangerous individual now? He would sit for a few moments taking in the sounds of nature before answering Ahri's question.
"What am Ah' doin' here? Ah' just go where Destiny takes me n' ya' forget that Ah'm a gypsy. Wanderin' around the world is what mah people do fer' their entire lives. Always searchin' fer' the next adventure or in mah case fortune." Twisted Fate explained before he turning and facing The Nine Tailed Fox.
"Ah' just happened ta' be in the neighborhood, n' thought Ah'd drop by fer' a visit. After all, we never got ta' have our little talk all those months ago. Perhaps Ah' was lookin' fer' a friendly chat. Maybe we could share tales of what has happened ta' us over our adventures? After all Ah'm sure a woman as beautiful as yer'self has many interestin' tales ta' share." He said offering Ahri his charming smile that had woo'd many women in the past.

Ahri listened to his words as they got carried by his smooth, heavy accent and charming voice. To be quite frank, she was afraid to scare Fate away, based on what she was about to do to her friends in her past journeys, but it seemed like Twisted Fate was unaware of her adventures and the whereabouts, so her guards slightly dropped knowing that the man has no clue.
She took one step forth, followed by another, and yet another, until she was close to Fate, with only a few feet separating them. The dazzling beams of the Sun sparkled in her eyes, while the wind embraced her silky skin and waved her hair around. A cutesy smile curved on her lips as she gazed at him with her lovely and delicious amber eyes.
"Quite interesting... And I do have some tales to tell but I'm not sure you deserve to know anything about my recent journeys~ However, I'd like to hear yours, just to have something to chit-chat about~." Said Ahri in a rather charming and teasing voice.

Twisted Fate noticed that she relaxed a bit, but the question as to why still remained. Well, Twisted Fate was sure that Destiny would let him know if it was relevant to him in some way, but if he wasn't meant to know, then so be it. He slowly stood, and moved allowing Ahri to take his seat if she so desired. Granted, she seemed inclined to stay a few feet away from him, if she did not wish to sit then she did not have to. However, the offer would still stand, until she took it or declined it.
Twisted Fate's hidden eyes observed Ahri's beauty, she was the one of the most, if not the most beautiful women, in all of Runeterra. Her amber eyes and the playful, charming sparkle that could be seen. The sparkle was only matched by the small smile of her lips, and while Twisted Fate could go on....Ahri was simply a sight to see. He let out a low whistle, and raised his hat a little bit. Ahri might see a glimpse of his golden eyes, an unexpected side effect from the experiment to gain his powers. However, the hat came back down just as fast as it was raised, and The Cardmaster would take a step forward.
"Well before' Ah' begin, allow me the privilege to say that ya' look beautiful today Ahri." He would say as a confident smile would appear on his face, though he would stroke his finely trimmed beard a bit before. "Now where ta' begin?" He would wait for another couple moments hoping to build up Ahri's anticipation for one of his tales. After all how one presents an adventure helps capture an audience. "Well, Ah' suppose Ah' should start off with mah tale of infamy in Piltover. Where Ah' helped Vi escape from the authorities. Want ta' start with that one first?" He would inquire with a slight grin, it seemed liked he enjoyed telling tales of his adventures and success. Maybe it was his gypsy blood, or perhaps it was something else.

Ahri continued to watch the man's puzzled expression as he noticed that she let her guards down, as long as he is unaware of anything, then Ahri would remain comfortable until then. Her smile remained on her pink lips as she accepted his indirect offer to take seat on the rock where he was admiring the beautiful view of the forests. Her fluffy tails waved in the air as she walked towards the rock, dancing with one another before she sat down on the comfortable little spot he left for her, without breaking her gaze away from Fate's eyes as she did so.
She caught the glimpse of his eyes as he admired her beauty, knowing more or less what the man was thinking as he looked at her. The vixen felt complimented by this and she could not say that she did not like it. And it was even more obvious when she heard the melody of his subtle whistle which seemed to be a sort of acknowledgment to her lovely appearance that any man would love to see. But what caught her attention was the sparkle of his golden eye that appeared as soon as his hat barely rose above his head before being quickly placed down again. Quite a subtle gentleman he was.
His words even made her smile grow wider, while a pink hue surfaced on the soft skin of her cheeks. She felt completely spoiled by his words, and even though she heard those words from many men, Fate's words seemed more... penetrating. A soft giggle escaped from her lips as she replied to him.
"That's quite lovely for you to say to me my dear gypsy. I have to say, you look quite attractive today too~"
Her words were carried by her natural playful and charming voice as they left her lips before they were sealed as she listened to the gypsy who decided to go first. She only gave him a nod as a response to his question waiting eagerly for his tale as he completely caught the Fox's attention.

Twisted Fate would smile slightly when she accepted his seat, he didn't need it anyways. In fact this made things a little easier for him when he would tell his tale, it would allow him a wider range of movement to express. He was a bit surprised when Ahri's cheek turned a bit pink, he did not figure the compliment to be that effective, or perhaps he had done something unlike their last meeting. Whatever it was, he did not know. However, at least he made her laugh a bit.
"N' thank you fer' your compliment, mon cheri, Ah' appreciate it. Perhaps more than ya' can imagine." He would say offering a slight bow, and he paused for a moment before straightening back up, and offering her a smile. "Now then...where was Ah'." He would say stroking his beard slightly before he snapped his fingers. 'That's right mah heroic rescue of Vi." He would face the river, standing up straight letting the slight breeze move his hair a bit.
"Ah' had just walked out of a bar, mah coin purse a bit heavier than it was when Ah' entered. After all no one beats, me in a game of card. Ah' looked out toward the ocean taking in the sea breeze, and the beautiful sun that glistened off the water. The boats moved up and down gently as they were secured to the pier by various ropes. Less lawful people passed me by as Ah' observed the view, but Ah' heard the faint sound of a woman cryin'." He would say weaving the story to his liking, and he would turn away from the river and approach Ahri.
"In a nearby alley, there the Enforcer sat, cryin' n' me bein' the gentleman Ah' am, Ah' would kneel down in front of her and ask 'what was wrong'." As he said that he would bend down where his face was level with the sitting Ahri, before continuing, "She would tell me that she killed someone n' now she was on the run from Caitlyn n' her gang. Then she would ask me fer' mah help. Ah' knew that this was gonna be rather dangerous, but Ah' just couldn't leave a helpless woman alone when she was wanted by Caitlyn no less." He would say before raising a hand, close to Ahri's face, but he did nothing with it....yet. "Ah wiped away her tears, and tenderly caressed her right cheek." His hand would mimic these actions if Ahri would let it, if not then it would drop back to his side, then he would continue., "Ah told her, 'Of course, Ah'll help ya' Vi. Ah wouldn't be the renown gentleman Ah' am if Ah' didn't.' N' that straightened her right up n' she gave me a hug fer' mah kindness. Granted, that damn near broke mah back, but her message was received."
He would step away from Ahri, and approached a nearby tree stump. Which he jumped on top of before turning back to The Nine Tailed Fox, and he would continue with a booming shout, full of his accent "Now who do ya' think would show up n' catch us with our pants down?" He asked, before asking again in a softer voice, "Who do ya' think appeared, cheri? Perhaps ya' know this someone." He would not continue his tale until Ahri gave him an answer, but would grin at her while he waited.

Ahri carefully listened to the man's tale as he began to narrate his adventures. Her attention was completely caught by how his words were well tuned with the story; and the way he moved, the way he acted out every scene made her feel like she was a witness of the scene. Even the subtle touch of his hand that trailed across the soft skin of her cheek changed her status from witness to the actual person Fate was speaking of, she felt like she was Vi herself, living through the whole story step by step as the man's tale kept on moving forward.
Her cheeks were painted with a bright red colour until Fate's hand moved away from her soft skin as he moved away and stood on the tree branch. His smooth voice, though loud enough, charmed her soul as she kept listening until the very end before he asked her his question. She gazed at him with her amber jewels for a few seconds before she answered to him.
"I'd guess that Caitlyn was the one who caught you both, mister. Am I right~?"

Twisted Fate smiled, not many could avoid getting lost in his story telling technique. Ahri was just one of many victims, who were mostly female oddly enough, to fall for his charm. Her blush and entrancement in his story would not go unnoticed from The Cardmaster's keen eyes. However, he would be too wrapped up in the story bringing his audience front and center to the show. Twisted Fate's eyes would stare into Ahri's before he shook his head and chuckled a little bit. She was on the right track, but a lot of stuff happened before Caitlyn even began to track them.
"No, the famous or infamous, depends on your point of view, Sheriff of Piltover was not quite on the scene just yet. Rather, a fellow champion from round' here showed up out of nowhere. N' cheri, ya' ought ta' know better than that...Ah' never get caught." He would say before stepping off the stump. He would wander around it, before continuing the story once more. "None other than the Monkey King would appear before Vi n' Ah. In mah opinion that just about took the cake in surprises fer' that day, but needless ta' say Wukong was mighty curious of what was goin' on, considerin' how Vi was on the run from Caitlyn. So we explained that Vi was in a spot n' Caitlyn was barkin' up the wrong tree." He explained, before moving closer to Ahri.
"We managed ta' convince him ta' aid us, n' he would do by leavin' a clone ta' distract Caitlyn should she follow. Then the real one tagged along with us n' eventually we made our way ta' the rooftop hopin' ta' avoid the crowds n' such. However, somethin' rather curious happened. Some odd contraption made it's way ta' Vi, n' apparently it was some communicatin' thin' from Zaun. Apparently, Singed had interests in recuritin' Vi fer' Zaun considerin' her most recent line of work ended in Piltover." He would say before pausing, and turning toward Ahri. He approached her and pointed a finger at her, "Now, when Singed came n' offered his deal, Ah' knew that somethin' was up. Ah' even told Vi, that he was hollerin' like a stuck pig, or that he was misleadin' her. It was a bad deal, but Ah' guess Vi was just desperate." Twisted Fate said before stroking his finely cut facial hair.
"Ah' reckon' that Vi had just been catchin' criminal fer' far too long n' forgot how the criminal world operates." He would speculate before, looking back at Ahri. "Now here comes the surprise that takes the cake. As ya' might guess, Caitlyn showed up but mah question fer' ya'...who do ya' think showed up with her?"
Post by The Nine-Tailed Fox on Sept 13, 2013 18:48:48 GMT -5
Ahri received Fate's words as he continued his interesting tale. She listened to people narrating stories but this was beyond her imagination; The man knew how to speak, act and even charm women and his audience all together. She tilted her head as her ears were pointed up towards the azure skies, still listening to his alluring voice.
When he stopped and asked her the question, she simply shook her head as she remained silent, waiting for the rest of the story that completely caught her attention ever since he started it.

Twisted Fate knew he had Ahri hooked with his story, as she seemed too caught up in it to come up with answer he smiled. He would draw a regular playing card, and after moment it turned into one of his infamous gold cards. "Destiny had led Graves ta' me once more n' now he was workin' with Caitlyn in order to capture Vi n' Ah'. They thought they had the drop on us, but they forgot who Destiny favors most of all. Caitlyn tried ta' snare me with one of her nets, but Ah' dodged out of the way at the last second. All accordin' ta' plan of course, Ah' just had ta' get her confidence up before Ah' wrecked it."
The Cardmaster stepped to the side to represent his movement to dodge the net, and then turned his head, but he was looking past Ahri instead of at her. "After comin' out of mah roll, Ah' saw Graves loadin' one of his explosive shells into his shotgun. A shell that could very easily demolish the building that we were standin' on." Twisted Fate said, and he would turn and smile at Ahri. "Course' Graves should have known better than that, cause the moment Ah' saw the shell, Ah' took action." At the word 'action' he tossed the golden card in his hand at a tree behind Ahri. "Hold it Malcom." He said when the card hit the tree and a bright golden light was unleashed. The tree became very still..not even the leaves swayed with the wind. Almost as if it too was held in place by Twisted Fate's story.
"Needless ta' say we decided to beat feet n' get out of there as soon as possible. Wukong summoned his cloud, n' Vi hopped on it. Ah' was a little less lucky, as he extended his quarterstaff fer' me ta' grab a hold of. Granted, Ah had no intentions dangling like a fish the entire trip, but our trip would be short lived ta' say the least. As Ah' turned ta' see Caitlyn aimin' at us, and Ah' was mighty worried bout' that. Ah' heard the gunshot, and Ah' realized Ah' wasn't hit. Mighty fortunate fer' me, but Ah' wasn't that surprised."
Twisted Fate would check himself, as though he was looking for a bullet wound, but shrugged when he found none. Then a look of concern crossed his face, and he looked up toward the sky, then down at the ground. "That's when Ah' noticed somethin' mighty peculiar...we were losin' altitude. N' that's when it hit me...Caitlyn was aimin' fer' Wukong in order ta' stop our speedy escape. Wukong couldn't keep the cloud up, Ah' let go once we got close enough ta' the ground n' rolled ta' a stop. Needless to say things weren't lookin' good fer' us, but a good gambler always has one last trump card in reserve." He would look back to Ahri to make sure he still had her attention.
