A week had passed since Jaslene had met her idol, Rumble, for a talk during the Mechanized Menace's lunch break. It had been an interesting day for her, and his words had taught her a few things she hadn't taken seriously before. Given her thoughts on how to improve her skills, and in the future hopefully how to improve her work and Mexxie without getting new tech and parts.
So, now she was heading back to the junkyard, hoping to be able to get another chance for a talk with Rumble. She was wearing her usual overalls, with a baggy shirt and pants beneath, and her usual dark cloth shoes. Her orange safety goggles were on covering her eyes as usual and her wrench was in the front pocket of the overalls. Slowly looking around the junkyard, full of rusted metal, jagged gears and all kinds of thrown away parts and pieces. Smiling slightly, she takes the wrench from her pocket and somewhat harshly knocks on the door of Rumble's workshop, whistling and pulling the safety goggles up to her forehead.

Rumble was drilling some holes in a medium-sized wooden block when he heard the knocking. He turned off the drill and lifted up his goggles. Scraps, his newfound pet cat, was lying on the mechanic's mohawk and began pawing at the yordle's face as soon as he took his goggles off.
"Come in," Rumble called, as he began hammering some nails into some wooden blocks. He moved the cat's paw from his face as he whistled an old Bandle City tune to himself.

"What, am I not allowed to own a pet or somethin'?" Rumble scoffed as he set the wooden blocks down. Scraps, his cat, mewed and curled up on his head.
"Anyways, who are you? Oh yeah, yer that lady who visited me last week. Right, I remember now... 'cept I don't remember your name. What was it again? Eileen?" The mechanic shrugged and took off his goggles, rubbing Scraps' back and heading off to the kitchen.
"If you're here to talk about whatever again, though, you kin come with me to the kitchen, 'cause I'm about to make some lunch anyways."

"Eileen, Jaslene, whatever. It rhymes, so I'm close."
Rumble decided to ignore the comment about his so-called reputation. He took out a frying pan and turned on the stove, then streaked the pan with some frying oil. Scraps hopped off of the mechanic's head and jumped on the kitchen table, curling up.
"What's a young miss like you doing here again, anyways? Is there nothin' to do back at your shop or whatever?"

"Oh! Uh... I just bought him 'cause I felt like havin' a pet," Rumble lied. Scraps scowled at the mechanic and said, "Mroooorow," which could be assumed to translate into Yeah right, you liar in cat language. Rumble ignored his cat and laid down a salmon steak on the frying pan, immediately causing a loud sizzling noise from the cooking oil.
"Have you eaten yet? I kin make some lunch fer you, if you want," the mechanic offered, turning around slightly to look at Jaslene in the eye.

"What? Naw, he always does that," Rumble lied again, and Scraps hissed at his owner. To quiet him down a bit, Rumble chopped off a piece of salmon and threw it at the cat, who mewed and ate it gleefully.
"So didja think of something t'talk about this time, or didja ferget to think of somethin' again?"
Please, what kinda person would I be if I would do a simple, silly mistake twice in a row. Gimme some credit.
So, I know ya can't tell me 'bout the top secret stuff 'bout Bandle's defenses, but can ya talk about what kinda improvements you've made to your mech, since no doubt you've not just sat on yer ass without fixin' your main big boom machine.

"I-Improvements? Oh yeah! Hahahaha, well duh, of course I wasn't slacking off on her!" Rumble rubbed the back of his head and laughed nervously, grinning open-mouthed at Jaslene. Oh man, I totally forgot about her the past month! he thought.
"Uh... With all the talk about invasions 'n stuff though, the mayor's been giving me way more work than usual fer Bandle City defenses, so I've only managed to scrape barely enough time to do the usual fixes 'n repair on her, yep," he lied. Scraps mewed and nodded at Jaslene, seemingly agreeing with the mechanic's false assertion.
Jaslene smirks at the stutter from Rumble. She may not be good with spotting lies, but this was something even she could spot. She leans over to Rumble and playfully punches him in the shoulder.
Ya forgot didn't ya? Even I can see through that one Rumbs. Just don't completely forget yer ol' sweetheart in the garage.
Chuckling she carefully extends a hand towards Scraps, holding it in as non-threatening of a position as she can in hopes of not getting scratched by the feline.

"What?! No, of course I didn't forget! Just been too busy, that's all," Rumble huffed. The cat snickered (if cats could snicker) as Rumble folded his arms and looked away. He really needed to stop bluffing.
"A-anyways, I do plan to get working on her again once I've got all my other work over with!" he snorted. Meanwhile, Scraps pawed at Jaslene's hand and rubbed up against her leg, purring and smiling.
