Name: Kassadin
Alias: The Voidwalker
Class: Mage Slayer
Race: Human
Age: Estimated around 35
Occupation: Stopping the Void's advance on Runeterra
Residence: None
Alignment: Chaotic Good
Abilities
Void Stone: Kassadin's nether blade is projected from a particular crystal called Void Stone, capable of absorbing excess magical energy directed at its weilder. 15% of all the magical energies that strike Kassadin are absorbed by the Void Stone. The absorbed energy then causes the blade to resonate with power, increasing the power and speed behind its attacks.
Null Sphere: Harnessing the powers of the Void, Kassadin is capable of projecting a quick-moving sphere of nether energies towards an enemy. Once it strikes an enemy the null energies contained within explode and react with the target, negating its ability to cast spells for 2,6 seconds.
Nether Blade: Kassadin's nether blade is made out of pure energy projected from the Void Stone contained within his right bracer. As such, it has a very easy time piercing non-magical armor. It can also tap into a spellcasting enemy's magical reserves, draining a percentage of their mana and returning twice that amount to Kassadin. In addition, Kassadin can imbue the blade to supercharge it, causing it deal additional damage with each strike.
Force Pulse: Kassadin is able to project a wave of nether energies in a wide arc, dealing damage and dazing enemies. The ability can be used very often, but decreases in power every time it is cast. However, each time a spell is cast in Kassadin's vecinity, Kassadin stores some of the excess energy to power up his next Force Pulse. This can happen a maximum of 6 times and the energy can be stored indefinitely.
Riftwalk: Walking between the planes, Kassadin is able to sidestep into the Void to emerge at a different location within Valoran in a quasi-instantaneous process. When Kassadin teleports, he creates a rift that explodes at both the starting and finishing locations, dealing damage. Casting Riftwalk several times within a quick succession increases both the damage caused by Riftwalk and the drain on Kassadin's mana reserves - the first teleportation deals negligible damage and has almost no impact on his energy, but the ability can become quite taxing for both Kassadin and his opponents after a few casts. The amount of energy consumed is also directly proportional to the distance traveled - a small "hop" to maneuver in a battle is not too costly; but teleporting large distances (ie: between city-states) can be quite taxing on the Voidwalker.
Otherworldly Perception: Kassadin is capable of sensing the strength, nature and location of void-related activities around a large area around himself; roughly one eight of Valoran's radius. Lesser activities, such as casting void-related magic, are harder to track and require Kassadin to be somewhat near the point of origin; while more powerful ones, like opening portals and large gatherings of nether creatures can be tracked across the full distance.
Relationships:
Malzahar: Being the void's preimer conduit of power and prophet within Valoran, Kassadin believes that Malzahar's demise will be a large blow on the Void's forces; so he is a high priority target for him.
Cho'Gath, Kog'Maw, Kha'Zix and other Voidborn: They are abominations that threaten Valoran's harmony and, as such, must be destroyed.
Reiora: His daughter. Currently, Kassadin seeks to cleanse the curse of the Void from her, so that she can have a happy, normal life.
Amelia Hackett: The Voidwalker sees in Amelia both a potential ally and enemy - if she is capable of subduing the Void within herself, she will certainly prove to be a valuable companion in the fight against Malzahar. If she shows sign of being subjugated, however, Kassadin will kill her; if only so that the Void does not obtains another follower.
Tekun Valos and the Preservers: They are valuable allies in the fight against the Void, and seem to be the only humans in Valoran that are willing to actively fight against it. However, Kassadin believes they should not risk their lives, and that his burden is he must bear alone.
Kassadin is otherwise completely neutral towards non-mentioned parties, provided they are not affiliated with the Void.
Event Timeline:
The Prophet and the Daughter (During the Void invasion on Frejlord): Due to Malzahar and Kassadin's powers colliding while being amplified by the overwhelming corruption, Reiora, Kassadin's daughter, bursts out of a rift into the middle of the battle. Malzahar later escapes to Icathia, taking Reiora with him. Kassadin follows suit and battle ensues, with Kog'Maw jumping into the fray. Malzahar escapes again due to Kog'Maw's injuries, but Kassadin is too weak to follow. Reiora carefully approaches Kassadin, and he tries to get her to remember her past. [Thread ongoing]
A Broken Mind (28 March 23 CLE): Amelia Hackett, a Void-infused human, is tracked down by Kassadin and found in the Ironspike Mountains. The Voidwalker warns her of the dangers of the void and proposes to train her, but warns her that would not hesitate to kill her if she proves to be unable to handlresist te Void's embrace. Malzahar and Kog'maw crash into the scene, and battle ensues. In the end, Reiora manages to teleport away, and everyone follows suit.
Seends of Corruption / Opposing Oblivion (23 April CLE): Kassadin explores the growing corruption atop Frejlord's mountains and is mentally assaulted by a black, hellish goo. Swain summons Kassadin to Noxus to discuss the growing threat of the Void, saving the Voidwalker in the process. Kassadin provides Swain with vital info against the Void and, in return, Swain hands Kassadin a strange artifact that is supposed to be able to read Void energies. Swain also mentions the Ionia Conference, and asks Kassadin to assist with him to warn the ionians against a possible void assault upon them.
