Name: Yi Icheom
Alias: The Wuju Bladesman
Class: Assassin/Carry/Jungler
Race: Human
Age: 1000+ (adapted from a combination of old lore, current lore, and new quotes.)
Occupation: Preserving Wuju Style
Residence: Ionia
Alignment: Lawful Good
Abilities:
Over the countless years he has lived, Master Yi has trained with a large number of weapons. While preferring his nodachi and wakizashis, he is more than competent in the use of the kanabo, twin hooks, the whip chain, and the emei piercers.
(Passive) Double Strike: Every so often, Master Yi will strike twice with his weapon while only taking up the time required to strike once.
Alpha Strike: Master Yi utilizes an extreme burst of speed to make himself unable to be hit while dashing between targets, striking them with his blade for physical damage. Alpha Strike is nigh impossible to dodge. Master Yi can use it to dash from enemy to enemy, but the more enemies he hits, the more energy it uses.
Wuju Style: (Passive) Through understanding himself and all the limits of his body, Master Yi is capable of striking with more strength and precision than possible for most humans, or even champions, giving him increased damage.
(Active) Yi utilizes his Wuju training to observe and understand his opponent, including their weak points. This gives him increased damage which bypasses enemy armor.
Meditate: Master Yi enters a state of intense focus, tuning out the pain of his injuries. Additionally, he kicks his body's healing functions into overdrive, allowing him to close his wounds with incredible speed. Yi has mastered this technique to such a point that he can regenerate his body to such an extent that he reverses the aging process (he can only do this when there are no other distractions). This has allowed him to live for over 1000 years.
Highlander: Master Yi kicks his entire body into overdrive, giving him a massive boost to his speed. He shuns off restrictions to his movement, making him unable to be slowed. Additionally, Yi becomes attuned to his enemies' ki. By being attuned to their ki, Master Yi absorbs some of an enemy's ki when he slays it, and use it to regain the energy and focus needed to utilize his other abilities again, this only works with humans or other sentient beings with strong enough life forces.
Minor Telekinesis: By channeling his ki, Master Yi can manipulate objects near him to some extent, such as having his sword float in front of him, though it is mostly used to help give him something to focus on when meditating, and not useful in combat.
Equipment:
Seven Lenses of Insight: The Seven Lenses of Insight give Master Yi vastly enhanced vision. They allow him to see wavelengths of light varying from infrared to ultraviolet, as well as magical auras, allowing him to see past, or be aware of many illusions. Additionally, they can act as binoculars to zoom in on objects in the distance.
Shokuzai: Master Yi's Nodachi and weapon he uses on the Fields of Justice. It is extremely well crafted and very durable.
Chōwa and Shōten: Master Yi's wakizashi that he keeps in sheathes attached to his boots. Like Shokuzai, they are very well made and almost impossible to break in combat. When using the two, Yi can attack faster, move faster, and block more effectively, but is not able to deal as much damage with each strike, and does not have as much range on his attacks.
Relationships: Wukong- Yi's apprentice and good friend. When Wukong journeyed north to seek greatness, he encountered Master Yi, who was deep in meditation. Kong asked him who the strongest warrior in the north was, and Yi told him about the League of Legends. The tale intoxicated Kong, a place where he could battle the strongest fighters in the world was, to him, paradise. Kong asked Yi to introduce him to this League, and to teach him the ways of humans, so that he could be a fitting champion. In return, he would honor Yi by using Yi's Wuju style to become the greatest warrior Runeterra had ever seen. Admiring his passion, Yi agreed, but under the condition that Kong would one day teach the lessons of Wuju to a pupil of his own. In the spirit of this agreement, he renamed Kong Wukong, and gave him a weapon suited to his unusual nature - an enchanted staff that the young Doran had crafted.
Cordellia Spiritmight- She has recently visited Master Yi and requested that he train her so that she might better defend her people. He gladly agreed to do so.
Description: Master Yi is not a particularly large man. He is 5'7" and has a small frame. Yi has two sets of armor, his usual one and traditional Ionian battle armor (Ionia skin). Beneath his helmet he has brown eyes and black hair. Though Yi is quite old, he only appears to be a bit over the age of 30.
Biography: Keeper of the ancient art of Wuju, Master Yi is a mystical warrior from the isle of Ionia. His village was steeped in Wuju, and his kinfolk were some of the few to carry the tradition into the modern day. When the armies of Noxus invaded Ionia, Master Yi joined in the Ionian defense to fight the craven enemy, bringing his village honor through his unparalleled mastery of the blade. The ensuing battles ravaged the land, but no conflict inflicted as much horror as the day the armies of Noxus closed in on Yi's village. Left undefended, the village became the unfortunate test subject of the latest invention by an up-and-coming chemist, now known as Singed. The remains of the village that Master Yi returned to were so horrific that it remains a festering scar on Ionian history. To this day, no Ionian will ever publicly speak of what occurred. After the Noxian invasion was contained, Master Yi fell into a deep isolation.
For years, he trained morning to night, speaking to no one and refusing offers of consolation by fellow Ionians. The only thing stopping him from madly charging into Noxus battle lines headfirst was his pledge to keep the Wuju style alive. Even though he seethed with impatience, his rage became a tool for sharpening his practice of Wuju, developing stronger and deadlier skills for his eventual vengeance. The only thing that roused him was news of the League's formation, and Noxus's subsequent enrollment in the League. Master Yi now brings his mastery of the blade to the League of Legends with unflinching purpose: to avenge his kinfolk and end the predations of the Noxus once and for all.
Master Yi himself has studied the arts of Wuju for more than a thousand years. He is the oldest known living human on Valoran, but to gaze upon him, you would guess him no more than thirty years old. Yi has been able to live this long by first mastering the meditation techniques of Wuju Style, rather than those of combat. Through his awareness of self, Yi meditation technique to regenerate his body to such an extent as to reverse the aging process.
The Seven Lenses of Insight
The goggles Master Yi wears are a techmaturgical device that was gifted to the champion by Piltover's own Heimerdinger, the Revered Inventor. Master Yi first used these goggles when defending his homeland from Noxus invaders in the time after the League has just formed and before Ionia had affiliated itself with the League. The goggles are fitted specifically for Master Yi; while someone else may wear them, they won't receive anywhere near the same benefit as he does himself.
The one-of-a-kind goggles, known as the "Seven Lenses of Insight", allow Master Yi to see across a wider range of the spectrum than normal people see. They also give him abilities not dissimilar to that of real world binoculars and telescopes. The goggles are synced to Yi's own magical resonance, allowing him to adjust settings without the use of his hands. He simply thinks what he needs, and the goggles act accordingly.
Wuju Dojo
Master Yi has constructed a new dojo for himself and others who practice Wuju. It is located around 5 miles from the furthest outskirts of the Placidium to allow for easy access to supplies, and allow him to come to the capital's defense should it come under attack, though the trail to the dojo from the road is quite rough and sees little use.
