Melanie had been preparing for this trip for a while now, she was finally going to the Institute of War. She had talked to Adalwolfa about it a few times before she had been sent on her mission.
Now she was standing there on the deck of the boat towards Piltover, she had decided not to head straight for the Institute of War, but rather take a short trip to Piltover to talk to her brother about some things.
Adalwolfa, her girlfriend was as far she knew still sleeping under the deck. It was dark outside when Melanie had woken up and walked up on the deck to think a little. The rocking of the ship, accompanied by the ocean breeze helped Melanie think, she liked being on the sea.
She sighed as she leaned against the railing of the boat, looking out over the vast emptiness. Her thoughts being at what is waiting for her at the Institute of War, then moving to Adal and how she'll miss her, then moving to her brother Jon and her parents. She turned around and sat on the deck, leaning with her back against the railing, she crossed her arms and looked up at the night sky. "Stupid military, why does Adal have to stay in Zaun?" She said to herself.
“Because that was the path I chose same for you going to the institute” said a voice behind her it was Adal even though she had received treatment from the Noxian healers and a little from the Zaunite medics she still seemed somewhat hurt, weeks away from a full recovery. She hugged her tightly from behind nuzzling her hair “So you want to become a summoner…I will miss you”
Melanie smiled and put her hands on Adal's. She closed her eyes, wanting the moment to last forever, "When can you visit me?" She asked. Melanie knew that because of the military Adal wouldn't be able to visit her too often. A long sigh came from Melanie.
She turned and faced Adal, brushing her hair away with her hand. "You look so beautiful in the starlight." Melanie put her arms around Adal and hugged her as hard as she could without hurting her, resting her head on Adal's shoulder.
Adal responded to Mel caresses with more of her own hugging her and caressing her lover as she rested her head on her shoulder. “As soon and as often as I can I will go visit you tough a I’m not sure when I will be able” she responded hugging her girlfriend tightly as she didn’t wanted to let go of her.
The cool sea wind blew past them as they stood there on deck and embraced each other. Melanie began feeling a little bit chilly, "Let's go back down under deck, it's another day's trip to Piltover and you should rest." She said and stroked Adal's cheek with her hand.
Adal give one last glance to the starry night feeling her lover shiver a little as the cold wind blew in-between the two of them as they hugged. “Yes it will be the best I don’t want you to be sick the all the way to the institute” she responded cheerfully trying to hide the glimmer of sadness on her voice.
Melanie broke the hug and took Adal's hand, leading her down under deck again to sleep some more before they arrived in Piltover. She had noticed a tone change in Adal as she spoke to her, she sounded cheerful but still a sad tone could be heard as she spoke.
They laid down on their bed in the room they had rented on the boat, Melanie pulled Adal close. The rocking of the boat made it easy to fall asleep, soon Melanie had fallen asleep with Adal in her embrace, wishing she could follow her to the Institute.
Adal didn’t sleep that night she was too busy caressing Mel’s hair, seeing her peaceful face as she sleep, burning the image of her lover beside her on her memories. She wouldn’t be a walk from her house from now on…she would be far, chasing her dreams as she herself did. A part of her wanted to just keep her…to not let go of her under any circumstances but she knew it was only her selfishness talking to her ear. She wanted for both to be happy...together she didn’t wanted to ever repent of something and she wanted Mel to never do so, she wanted her lover to feel fulfilled even if it wasn’t beside her at least for a while…
Melanie awoke a few hours later, with the sun shining through the small round window on the wall above their bed. She noticed Adal was already awake, caressing her hair. Mel looked Adal in her eyes and stroke her cheek with the back of her hand slowly. "Good morning, love." she said and stretched her arms and legs. She sat up in the bed and looked out the window, they had reached Piltover.
She climbed out of the bed and changed clothes before turning back to Adal, "Come on, let's go out and see Piltover. It will be our last date for a while." She said and held out her hand.
Adal woke up she had sleep almost nothing that night fearing the day that came closer…a good bye…or even a farewell would be for her like reaping one of her arms, in such a short time this girl…Mel…her girlfriend had buried herself so deep into her hearth in such a fast time…maybe she was more vulnerable than she thought? Or maybe this girl was special? In any way this was as close as she had gotten to love in her life and she was letting her go to chase her dreams out of empathy. “Sigh I have become bland” she said to herself in a low voice as she got up from the bed to hug Mel “Then let’s make this one count.” She responded to the girl before starting to dress.
Melanie smiled and waited for Adal to get dressed, meanwhile she packed her things and readied her bags. Once Adal was done with her clothes she pulled her in for a long kiss. "There is someone I want you to meet here in Piltover." She said afterwards.
Melanie lift up her bag and held out her hand for Adal to take, once she did Melanie would lead her out on deck and down onto the docks of Piltover.

He had been idly standing at the terminal for a good half hour, but the idea of being calm did not pass his mind; technically being a war veteran, it was only in his mind to be attentive at all times, being so restless he had arrived at the docks a good 30 minutes ahead of schedule.
When he saw the ship enter the harbor, it was then that he finally lost his rigidity and began to slowly pace up and down the boardwalk that jutted into the harbor, awaiting his younger sister's arrival.
His memory of the 1st encounter was still rather fresh; after all, considering the mood swings that went in that conversation with Melanie, he could only recall the one moment where he had lost his cool. He was otherwise a very calm, logic-and-intuition-first man, and he resolved to ensure that he would not lose his temper again.
However, he was at least a bit more thoughtful this time about appearing more 'civilian:' in place of his uniform and rather out of position helmet, he had a gray tweed suit on, wearing matching dress shoes and a bowler's hat and tie. He did decide to bring something he didn't show his sister before, though; these were in the form of his floating little orbs, all four of them rather odd in place, but to him completely normal, as they emitted a slight machinated hum.
As he saw the passengers begin to disembark, he walked slowly towards the end of the pathway bridging the ship to the docks, looking for her sister among the crowd. He smiled a bit at the expectation of what her sister would think when she would first meet his finest invention...

Adal would follow Mel towards the docks not too excited to going to Piltover but she wanted to spend these last days with Mel happily “So who are we meting?” she said as they descended the ship then she saw him…everything on his body language indicated he wasn’t a civilian pus there where some strange orbs floating around him, She didn’t wanted to have much to do with such a suspicious looking man.
Melanie held Adal's hand as they walked across the deck and down the plank and onto the harbor. She looked around to see if she could see her brother. Looking around the harbor until she saw him, he wasn't wearing his uniform nor his helmet, this was something she liked. The orbs hovering around him interested her a bit.
Moving across the harbor she let Adal's hand go once they got close enough, moving up to hug him, "Hello, brother." She said with a smile. She turned around to face Adal again, "Adal, this.. Is my brother, Jon." She looked up at her brother, "Jon, this... This is the love of my life, Adal."

Jon looked for a bit longer as the people came off, before he spotted his sister, who seemed to be with...
...another woman?
'Well, what do we have here...' he thought to himself as he saw the two cross the bridge.
He returned the hug as any sibling hug would have gone, as well as the smile. The introduction did surprise him a little bit, however.
'Well, I wouldn't have guessed it, but it's not of my concern; after all, progress observes no difference between a heterosexual and a homosexual couple under the law,' he said to himself, before tipping his hat and welcoming his sister's love with a respectful smile.
"A pleasure to meet you, ma'am... and welcome to Piltover."
