Adal looked at the guy and the way he talked…sigh such a stuck up guy “Yes nice to meet you to Jon” she said taking his hand and shaking it “So…how is the military doing?” she said starting the conversation and seeing how obvious was his profession from the way he carried himself.
Melanie put an arm around Adal's waist and pulled her closer, she noticed that Adal didn't really approve of her brother's profession. She looked at her with a soft smile, "Come on, relax a little. You are both in the Military, you should get along."
She gave her a quick kiss before turning to her brother, "How are things with mom and dad?"

Jon could only raise an eyebrow at Adal's question.
"Calling the PMC a military is really stretching the term, I won't lie; our first priority is medical treatment and evac in hot zones for any combatants, defense only to be use when being attacked ourselves."
At his sister's question, Jon turned an gave a small chuckle before beginning to speak.
"Well, they're alright for the moment; Mom's still going on about teacher's salary at the high school and Dad's quiet as always, but otherwise it might as well still be 20 years ago," he replied, smiling.

"What side you're on isn't of concern to me. What is of concern is that you're hurt, and I need to treat you for it." -Jon
"Contrary to what some believe, violence does not solve everything. In fact, it solves nothing." -Jon
“Oh so your job wasn’t the military? It you strike me as the same type of guy as Laurentine maybe you two just have alike personalities.” She said shrugging.
Melanie looked at the two as they spoke and smiled at her brother, she couldn't believe she was going to leave both of them behind as she went to the institute. Regret began building up in her as she began doubting her choice of leaving Adal behind. She shook her head once and leaned against Adal. "Jon, I'm hungry, is that old restaurant still in business? The one with the old Demacian cheff?" she asked him.
She moved her hand from Adal's waist and to her hand, squeezing it lightly and gave her a smile. "Aren't you hungry?"

"I'll admit I am not exactly knowing of who this Laurentine who you are comparing me to is," Jon replied to Adal's comment.
Turning to answer Melanie's question, he nodded. "That's almost a silly question, sis'. The old man's still working his magic - or culinary skills, however you see it - and he still remembered me from almost 2 decades ago. I'm sure he'll remember you," he asnwered.

“So we are going to eat? Nice” she said taking Mel’s arm “So where are we going? I have never been in Piltover before so you two will have to guide me.” She said cheerfully trying to get rid of the silly distrust to Mel’s brother only because she reminded her of a law enforcer.
Melanie smiled widely, "Awesome, let's go then." She said and pulled her arm out of Adal's grip only to put it around her waist, resting her hand in Adal's pocket. She looked at her with a smile and nodded, "Yeah, it's a Demacian chef that arrived here when I was still living here. He's quite nice and from what I remember he makes quite good pasta."
Deep down Melanie began regretting her decision of going to the Institute of War, it felt wrong as she felt a slight sting in her heart whenever she thought of it. She wanted to go to the institute, but she didn't want to leave Adal. The thought of being alone again hurt too much. How was she going to tell Adal that she had decided to stay? Adal had been supportive for her all the way, and now she was just going to throw it in her face?
As they walked down the streets Melanie kept switching between looking at Jon and Adal, and when she didn't she looked worried which was easily noticed, if Adal or Jon would look at her during their walk that is.

Jon's pace with the other two was reasonable for such a day as this. His keen eyesight did, however, catch his sister's odd glances; she looked worried.
Not wanting to have her sister remain in a state of unease, he decided to bring the point forward.
"Hey, Sis'. Is something wrong?" He asked.

Adal was a little distracted torn between being a supportive girlfriend and her own selfishness not wanting to let her go...not wanting to be alone again. She continued to walk while thinking deeply about things while she tried appear happy for Mel not wanting to spoil their last day together.
Melanie looked up from the road and put on a bad smile, "Huh? Oh... Nono everything's fine." She looked back at the road, "Everything. Is. Fine." She thought, she continued her false smile as they walked along the streets towards the restaurant.
It didn't take too long for the group to finally find the restaurant, same name, same location and hopefully same owner. Melanie felt a weight lift from her shoulders as she approached the familiar place, moving a bit faster with Adal she opened the door and walked in, nothing had changed. Her fake smile was replaced with a genuine true smile, shining with happiness she kissed Adal. "This. This is a place I've missed so, so much." she said and looked around.
"Jon, we'll go get a table, do you mind making the order?" She asked and smiled at him.

Alright, sis'. I'll look for you once I'm done," Jon replied with a wink and a knowing smile as he walked off towards the cashier to fill out an order slip.
While he was making a choice, his mind in the back thought a bit about his sister's rather uncertain look. It wasn't re-assuring to see his sibling like that; hopefully she was in a better situation than her facial expression implied...
