In the wake of the tragedies and horrors brought about by the Invasion, the once ambivalent attitude that prevailed over most of the summoners gave way to a great flood of emotions. The Demacian summoners of the Institute of course, were the hardest hit, the conflict literally hitting close to home. Where once the mages rarely spoke to each other, having few friends outside their own departments or cliques, the Demacian representatives now came together in fellowship and support for one another.
There was a great amount of work to do, both at home and at the Institute, and many of the summoners were torn between their loyalties, their oaths. But, more than work, there was a need among them to go home and seek out their families, to know if loved ones were alright... or were lost to the conflict.
Over the next few days, Nicholas Von Ravencroft had shown himself to be highly efficient at organizing information distribution, courtesy of his construct-assistant. A vast majority of summoners and normal citizens whose families were from the city were told to go to the city hospitals, but the ones who came from the Borderland Holdings were rallying as well, preparing to check on their families. The summoner was most surprised to see two other summoners who came from the same lands he did, and doubly surprised that he was the son of the Duke who held Rivershire. They would be joined by a few others.
With the assistance of repurposed minions announcing information and holding signs, Zero was directing traffic flow from the Summoners’ Camp and sending Institute staff, soldiers and citizens alike to where they wanted or needed to be. Nicholas meanwhile, approached every one of his fellow mages, some he’d not spoken to in years over apathy, and found everyone was indeed human and emotional, fearing for the fate of their families. It was always in these hardest times that the Demacian heart, or indeed, the human heart emerges...
He continued waiting alongside Zero before he would lead the convoy to the Borderland towns.
