Day 1
Starting this journal seems like a good idea. I don't want to lose track of what I'm working on. So, uh...yea...this is Jay. Not really working on anything at the moment. But, when I do, this'll be the first place I record it!
Sometimes, when you've been stuck alone for long enough, you just have to break out into reality, with no regard for what position it may put you in. It is better to try and fail than to never try.

Day 30
I really hope Ma'am Maria doesn't find out about this. A Zaunite man came to me so I could deliver a special rune that was fundamental in the building of Blitzcrank, the Steam Golem, to her workshop. But...I may have...repossessed it for myself. This rune could be incredibly helpful in getting me that promotion! All I have to do is figure out what it does, exactly...
Day 35
According to my research, this rune had something to do with Blitzcrank's sentience...this is monumental! Using it, I could...I could make something that thinks for itself! That job may as well be mine, isn't it? I'll finally be able to support myself and Marcy without too much help... show Maria that I'm someone worth keeping around!

Day 42
I've finally gotten around to inscribing the rune onto a glass cube. The rune seems to be perfect; but if there is something wrong, my entire plan goes down the drain.
I still need to do a lot more research; if this cube is going to become sentient, it will need a lot more than just a rune. Well, one rune, that is. I need to find (legal) runes that allow speech, power the contraption, etc etc...I don't want to make something brain dead.
I...I think I've drunk a bit too much wine tonight...I should go to bed now.
*The ink here is slightly smeared, as if Jay fell asleep on the journal. However, that must be absolutely preposterous; Jay is a hardworking Noxian engineer, not some tired intern*

Day 50
Ma'am Maria has communicated to me behind closed doors that, if I'm getting that promotion, I'd have to find a way to make her body magically resistant. I've seen the harm magic has wracked on her body before; it is quite a good idea to make her magic resistant. But I have no clue how short of covering her in Negatron, and I doubt she'd like that much.
So, while I brainstorm that, I guess it's back to working on the Cube. I'm not giving that up quite yet; I've put too much work into it. Good news is, well...nothing. Still haven't found any speech runes. But I feel I'm close!
Day 51
Today, I thought of taking a break from tinkering. I decided to toy around with my gauntlet, see if I could improve it, maybe still cast a couple spells. My fireball is still as hot as ever, and yet...Summoner magic eludes me. I never understood how vital a Nexus was to the process of casting even the simplest spells.
Perhaps if I could collect a large enough mana battery, I could try casting...perhaps Barrier? I don't know. This wouldn't even be work. This would be for old time's sake.

Marcy looked over her shoulder before opening and reading his journal. She smiled as she read what he had written, especially the line he had scribbled out. She saw a pencil laying next to it, she grabbed it and made a small note on his next page.
Day 52
Marcy is the best girlfriend ever, she is so awesome in all ways. I should buy her a new red dress.

Day 55
I don't remember taking that note about buying Marcy a new dress, but it doesn't sound like a bad idea.
*There's a small sketch of a cuddling couple drawn besides the smiley, relatively well drawn, with a heart around both of the drawings*
Anyhow, the Cube has hit a dead end for now. I found a speech rune, but its magic polarity doesn't seem to synchronize well with the sentience rune...I guess I must find an expert in this rune before I try to use it any further.

Day 61
I'm stranded in Bilgewater.
I'm far from home with no money, no friends...all I have is a room for another six days, my gauntlet, and this journal. As is, I have to borrow a pen from the bartender. Bloody bastard...tried to charge me extra before I threatened to burn the place down.
Marcy left me. I snapped at her. I was wrong to do that, but...I can't help but still feel mad. The question is, am I mad at her or at myself? Whatever the case, these pirates better not push me any further...I won't be accountable for anything that may happen.
She left her blood here. I hope she makes it back home soon enough.

Day 63
It's a struggle to find food. Begging, I can barely make a few valors in a day. This morning, for breakfast, I had to settle for a few leaves of lettuce. As is, half of them were rotten. Haven't eaten anything since then.
I don't want to have to hurt anyone for food, but that seems to be what it's coming to...but I have one last chance before I resort to stealing...there may be little mana in Bilgewater, but I can still use magic. Perhaps I...

Day 64
It was a success! I made three silver pieces today. I ate bread for the first time since I left Noxus...it was disgusting, but at least I could eat it. One of the silver pieces I hung onto, though. If I'm going to go back home, I'll need some money. Those tickets are expensive.
...I hope I don't lose my job. I wonder if Maria even noticed if I'm missing or not. She probably did. Maybe she's holding my paycheck in place. Yea, that'd be nice...
