Galio watched Nocturne and Hecrim with a grim determination.
"You have chosen a poor place to reap souls and murder innocents. I will put a stop to this now."
Then Poppy approached the three of them, he looked over at the ambassador. She was the one responsible for making him come to his sense and find his purpose. The sentinel nodded at her as he spread his wings, ready for anything.
"They admitted everything Poppy, it is up to them if they want to turn themselves in. If not I am not afraid to use force on these two."

The souls that Nocturne had slaughtered would attempt to swarm Galio and Poppy in a pathetic attempt to overwhelm them, although they had no essence within them the two would find them to be simply annoying lifeless meatbags. Hecarim would sit back and wait for the two to deal with the souls while he conversed with Nocturne.

Poppy mostly ignores the annoyances the souls are, pushing them back with her shield and then turns to Galio.
"Knowing the stubborness of these creatures of the so-called "Shadow Isles" and the tale about the Nightmare's first appearance, I believe in the end force will be the only option here. However, knowing especially Nocturne's abilities regarding fear, it would be better if we had some backup. I can shield myself from everything it can attempt for a limited time, but it would be more certain and safer if for example the Crownguards were here."
She then turns back to Hecarim and Nocturne, smacking a couple of the "fleshbags" away with Whomper.
"'Shadow of War', Nightmare, I am asking you to leave Demacia. If you fail to comply on this request, the Sentinel here and I will use lethal force. And if you choose to fight, you will risk alerting your presence to the rest of the Demacian forces, including Prince Jarvan the Fourth, Luxanna and Garen Crownguard, Shyvana the Half-Dragon and Xin Zhao, the Seneschal of Demacia. If you wish to remain even somewhat intact, I suggest you leave the city. NOW."
Galio nodded at Poppy as he used his large fists to fight off the spirits Hacarim sent at the two of the.
"I agree Poppy, but I would not leave you alone to fight these two yourself. If need be we take the better part of valor and retreat if things look dire."
Pushing back some of the "meat-bags", Galio raised his wing and brought them together in a mighty flap, creating a righteous gust of wind to blow bag the souls they were fighting. He stood ready to withstand another assault, power shining behind his red eyes.
"You heard the ambassador, leave now or be put down."

Watching as the souls poorly attempt to apprehend the two Demacians, Nocturne listened to their offers before thinking. While itself and Hecarim could potentially take on the mighty 'Commandos' of Demacia, staying too long could risk summoners being alerted, which risked recapture. Something it does not want to happen. Turning to the Shadow of War, Nocturne spoke. "We shall discuss this matter later, but for now..."
Smoke would billow out from Nocturne, blinding the three champions and blanketing the nearby area in darkness. While it would last for only a short while, by the time it dissipated the Eternal Nightmare would have vanished.
"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream."

Hecarim gave a slight nod to the shade just before he blinded him. In the confusion he summoned up his shroud and charged directly toward the exit to the city, his work was done here. He had found the source of the murders and gained a potential ally for his homeland, the souls Nocturne had left at the scene would have to be sacrificed for now. A pity, the living were dying left and right and he was letting them go to waste, he would have to find someone of the isles to accompany him for harvesting next time.

Garen could not believe his eyes - it has been too long since Demacia's high walls had been breached so easily. His sword was held in front of him as he ground to a halt, staring at the blood pooling into corners of the once clean houses, the cobblestones also stained with the red life essence. He felt his anger rise, again berating himself for not coming sooner. A dark smoke rose from behind the noble buildings, and he felt his legs moving as he raced towards it -- but not before an unimaginable chill coursed through his body and he felt his legs freeze. A shadow passed over him, and he looked up - only to hear a spine crawling laugh resound through the broad lane. The air grew even colder, and something galloped past him. An omen of despair, and such a feeling did course through his frame. Garen knew who they were, but he would not chase after them. He shook the acute fear from his limbs and carried on, his fist clenched tight around the hilt of his weapon.
He spotted two familiar faces, and though the worst was over, he held no smile of victory. He had, in essence, failed his duty to Demacia. But Garen knew this was not the time for self pity, and he strode over to where Galio and Poppy were. At first, he did not know what to say. There was nothing to say. He sheathed his sword and gave a nod to the pair; the only action directed at them before he turned to look at the carnage surrounding him. A low-burning fire had ignited, but dread had set at the very pit of his stomach. Luxanna and Jarvan were nowhere to be seen. It was not the Prince's fault that he had left to scout for them, but he should not have left when his people were in peril. Garen knew it was not his place to scold him, however.
He saw the path of carnage. He knelt, resting his hand against the eyes of one who had passed on. Garen's face contorted in agony as he pressed the Demacian's eyes closed. Rigor mortis had begun to set, and so he could do nothing for the jaw that had screamed in fear. He shut his eyes, muttering to himself before standing straight back up. He turned to the Ambassador and the Stone Guardian. "Where did they go. Why did they leave?" He demanded answers. Aggravation was set on his face, his hands dancing in the air as he motioned to their path of exit. "What was their purpose!?"

Poppy turns to Garen, her look still as stony and unmoving as usual.
"One can only guess to their purpose here, the Nightmare most likely wanted revenge for it's capture and perhaps the 'Shadow of War' was driven here by it's work. I am not certain of why they left however... they do not seem the like to take our threats seriously. Perhaps they considered the fact that we could call in the summoner's to imprison both of them. Guesswork mostly here Garen."
She then shakes her head and sighs, placing Whomper on it's strap on her back again.
"I cannot stay here on the scene. I rather not watch over death for long and my work is waiting. At least the streets are safe again."
Galio nodded at Poppy and watched her leave. He would have to pay her a visit later and she how she was doing.Galio then approached Garen and placed a stone hand gently on the man's shoulder. The gargoyle had a look of sympathy on his stony features .
"The damage was done when we arrived. All we can do now is to give them a proper burial and tighten security. Speak with his highness and see if there is a way we can give sentries a way to see those who can hide in the shadows. We may have failed these people, but we will not fail again."
Arriving minutes behind the Might of Demacia, the Prince glared at the body of the man on the streets. "Listen very carefully. This will NOT happen again to our city. This is absolutely unacceptable, an affront to our glorious home. We are charged with maintaining justice, order, and prosperity as Champions of Demacia. Galio, I expect you to be watching as often and prudently as possible. Notify me or my Father whenever anything seems amiss." He began, speaking quietly and with fervor, staring at the twisted form of the giant. "Garen, you'll be protecting my Father with your all. Victus, you will be accompanying the Lady Luxanna to Piltover so she might consult with Heimerdinger or the other great minds at the Academy in an attempt to protect our homes. " He continued, raising his hands at the inevitable following protests. "I cannot allow this to happen to our people. So you will do as I command, as we have failed those we are sworn to protect. The League can't keep control of its monsters, so we'll have to take matters into our own hands." He finished, staring at each of them in turn, his jaw locked in anger, piercing through them all with his eyes.

"That is not my decision to make, Knight." The Prince declared, quiet and collected. "In the end the League went back on its purpose today. My countrymen DIED today. Demacians of any and all birth perished under the blade of the Nightmare. I will not sit by idly and watch my people put to slaughter. Drastic measures will be taken if the League refuses to properly contain or outright destroy their abominations. We cannot afford another...butchering." He ended darkly, anger and ice in his eyes.

"When do I leave for Bandle then, my Prince?"
Victus stated as if the entirety of the scene and previous conversation didn't affect him, which it didn't. Victus protected the weak and didn't look down on them, but he held no illusions that they should all be avenged or get emotional over their deaths. A knight is a blade to protect the weak, nothing more. He is best to remove all emotions and steel his soul. As long as he had work, he would work.

Luxanna Crownguard found herself trailing behind her prince and Brightblade as they scoured the streets for the threat. Blood and carnage was all that was left in the wake of the Eternal Nightmare's presence and the weight of that revelation weighed heavily on the her dainty shoulders. Word had gotten out that the culprits to the attack had already fled the city but that knowledge did not sooth the worry that wrinkled Lux's brows. Instead it ignited it, stewing slowly into anger that no one had apprehended them and held them responsible for their crimes. It would do no good to allow murderous creatures loose on the streets - especially since there was no guarantee that they would not return.
Lux fought back the negative feelings as her brother's broad back came into view, Poppy passing them as she left the gruesome scene that laid ahead. Lux's pace quickened, rushing to her brother's side as quickly as she could. The same feeling of guilt and shame that plagued Garen settled into the pit of her stomach as her bright blues gazed down at the man strewn on the street.
Lux's eyes slowly trailed upwards and towards Jarvan when he began speaking, a solemn expression on her face. As he spoke, however, her eyes lit up, the pain that had been embedded into them softening until they almost held the same spark they had just a few hours ago, "I will do whatever it takes in order to keep my city safe." She glanced over at Victus, knowing that the two of them were more than capable of accomplishing the task that was laid before them, "When do you wish for us to depart?"

"After I've returned from the expedition to Icathia. I need people here to protect this city in case Nocturne comes back. I refuse to let more die." He said, glancing at their faces. Pulling Lux and Garen aside, the Prince began to speak to them quietly: "Noxus will not allow this period of opportunity to slip from their fingers. With Xin and I gone, they will attempt to murder my Father. Such is their way. Normally I'd want you both here but I can't afford to keep Lux. Garen, you will protect him with your EVERYTHING. My Father cannot die." He said, staring into the larger man's eyes, almost pleading with him.
"Victus, you may roam free until I return. Then I expect you to accompany Lux and keep her well protected. She's capable enough but I'm not taking chances. Our party should return soon enough." He said, looking back to the Knight and nodding his thanks. He was grateful he had these few he could depend on. In the following days, much and more was going to change. He anxiously awaited the challenge.
