Announcement

Throughout the cities and towns of Valoran, viewscreens flickered on in unison, suddenly bearing the strong visage of a woman clad in an ornately decorated purple robe. Her hood was lowered. Her hair fell to her shoulders, not a strand out of place. Her features looked worn, but taut with purposeful intensity.

She sat behind a mahogany desk, her slender hands folded in front of her. When she spoke, the sound of her grim oration echoed through the land...

"People of Valoran. Today, we address with great somberness the blights of suffering upon Runeterra. Yes. It is true that some of the more dangerous entities under the Institute's watch have broken free of their bonds. In our endeavor to safeguard Valoran, we have failed you. We hold ourselves accountable for damages done and casualties claimed. But we will not fail you again. Our calling, as ever, is to maintain peace and safety. Reclamation efforts are being put into effect immediately.

"The Void marches in the north; Icathia has broken, its rifts spilling wicked spawn into our world. Today we mourn the lives of the myriad Freljordian soldiers who have fallen in defense of their homeland, of the innocent citizens who were lost in the assault, and of Summoner Derrick Azordia." Her voice wavered mournfully as she spoke, but her emotions only seemed to strengthen her resolve.

"Today, we meet the forces of darkness with equal strength and fervor. The Institute dispatches extensive Summoner forces to stabilize Freljord. We are sworn to protect, and no Outsiders will lay claim to Valoran on the Institute's watch.

"We ask you, peoples of the world, to set aside political differences in the face of this threat. To be strong, we must stand united--and united, Valoran will not fall."

Her expression darkened, purpose spreading over her face. "Beginning today--and until Runeterra has been sufficiently stabilized--the Fields of Justice are closed, all scheduled matches cancelled. Champions and Summoners will devote their skills to securing and stabilizing our homeland under the League's banner. Together, we will maintain the peace. Together, we will drive the darkness from this world.

"Heed my words, Valoran. We will prevail."
