((This is where any Summoners who wish to go to Freljord to help with the invasion posts - mostly just putting up a protective barrier and stuff like that. I'll edit this later if I must.))
It was no longer a secret invasion - it was a call for war, and on the city toward the North. Vessaria's jaw was tight as she read over recent reports, though she was no longer paying much attention to the words on paper. Rather, she knew that action must be taken. The Void was currently targeting the Winter's Claw and her village, and according to the sheet in front of her, many of the League's Champions had gone over to assist them against the Void. However, she also knew that there were few who were also helping the Void - the missing beast, Cho'Gath had been sighted. There was no debate. The Institute would send the people of Freljord aid, but only so far. Vessaria wanted to avoid the war at all costs, but she would not allow the city to be razed to the ground.
She had reached out to any potential Summoners, mostly those who had invested interest in the cause and those who were experienced enough to know what they were dealing with. Once that has been dealt with, there was no time to waste. From various points of view, the Freljordians were holding the attack back with the help of their allies, but portals had been opened... and the force remained endless.

The doors to the meeting hall parted, and the sound of footsteps echoed through the chamber as Hildebrand Runeblood made his entrance. He said nothing as he neared the table and took a seat, his icy blue eyes glancing around the room and taking in the sights as he got comfortable. He'd only been here a few times, but each was fairly memorable. The most recent in memory were the discussions pertaining to handling Kalamanda, and how to deal with the detainment of former high-councilor Relivash.
"High Councilor Kolminye, always a pleasure..." Hildebrand spoke with his usual, even tone. It was devoid of any excessive intonation, and structured tightly, just like the ice that he wielded with such ease with his gifts. He glanced once more around the table. "It seems I am the first to arrive. Not surprising, given my personal investment in the topic at hand."

The steady but advancing clicking of heels on the floor could be heard approaching the meeting hall long before the owner made her appearance through the doors of the meeting hall. A fair-haired woman lingered at the entrance, taking in the sight of the room. It has been a long while - two months, to be exact - since she last participated at a summoner meeting.
Tybresa took in a deep breath as she approached the table, the golden-trimmed folds of her summoner robes trailing behind her. She bowed deeply in front of Kolminye, bringing her hand at the black, silken choker tightly fitted at her neck, the badge of service of the Senior Steward. She spoke in a soft, almost reverent tone.
High Councilor Kolminye.
Tybresa proceeded to take a seat at the table, on the opposite side of the currently present summoner. She folded her hands in her lap, a worried expression on her face. She was scrutinizing every movement the High Councilor would make, the body language, looking for a sign. She was expecting some serious critique at her prolonged absence, but she waited patiently in silence.

Vessaria inclined her head towards the Senior Summoner as he entered. Hildebrand Runeblood, of both Demacian and Freljordian heritage and one such Summoner she had expected to hear from. She tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear as he sat down. "Indeed, though the matter is far more pressing than I would have previously thought." A small frown shadowed her features, though she was otherwise neutral in her posture. "Freljord is, as of this moment, our main focus due to the invasion of the Void, as you know. For their sake, and for Runeterra, we must contain it as quickly as possible." Dark purple glanced towards the seated Summoner, "Unfortunately, there are... other matters which require my attention, stirrings which should not be taken lightly."
Vessaria clasped her hands together in thought for a brief second before she continued. "That is why I need you to travel to Freljord with Summoners who have offered their service. I recall you being present during the Kalamanda crisis, and the way the Institute wishes to handle this matter remains largely the same - a nexus will be provided to allow the formation of the barrier."
Before she could continue, the creak of the doors brought her eyes up. The woman was familiar to Vessaria, but she had not seen the face in a while. "Summoner Tybresa," she responded smoothly. "I will admit, it is a surprise to see you." Vessaria watched the woman move around the table, only looking away once Tybresa had taken a seat. She returned to address Hildebrand once more, though very well aware of the woman's careful gaze. "One other fact to note is that the Institute has sent two Silver ranked Summoners to accompany Champion Morgana to the Field who had offered to help the Freljordian forces. Of course, the Judicator is also present on the field and as such, I'd advise you take greater precaution. The location of the main threat is within the territory of the Winter's Claw, and many of our Champions have taken it upon themselves to assist... on both sides."
Having said that, Vessaria turned her attention to Tybresa. "As for you," she said mildly, "Normally I would assume you have an interest in this affair, but now I wonder if you are simply here because you feel as if you must be." Her expression was, as always, unreadable but her eyes spoke volumes. A harsh sort of understanding filled them, and she continued as calm as ever. "Though I am mostly aware of the general circumstance surrounding your absence, it is in poor form that you would still choose to leave when the Institute is in need of you the most." Though she did not intent to berate the poor woman, Vessaria's tone was rather unsympathetic. "I do not think your presence is required in Freljord, but I will be sure to call upon you if something more appropriate arises." She moved as if to dismiss Tybresa, but paused for a moment. A sigh. "I understand that one's grief can be overwhelming, but we cannot forgo our duties for so long. I expect better from you in the future."
Her next words were directed towards Hildebrand. "Let me know when you are ready. Preferably as soon as possible."

Tybresa listened to the High Councilor's voice with her head bowed in respect. She closed her eyes, a painful expression showing on her face as Vessaria finally addressed her. She simply nodded as she listened - in her heart, she could feel each and ever word stab her in the heart, but her mind agreed - it was so selfish and unlike her, to abandon the Institute in its time of need.
When Vessaria finished speaking, she raised her gaze and looked with a blank stare. She spoke in a soft tone.
You are right, High Councilor, on all aspects. It was unprofessional and selfish of me to abandon the Institute like that, no matter how great the grief.
Tybresa narrows her eyebrows, her blue eyes glimmering with a spark of determination in them.
I welcome your critique, for it is just - I would personally carry the guilt for what has happened in my absence to my grave. Valoran needs the undivided attention of the Council of Equity for we seem to be at the very brink of war ...
She closes her eyes as she bows her head, her golden locks shadowing her expression.
I have failed you once, High Councilor - but I won't fail you again. I have returned - I won't stand idly by while the Institute is desolate and in shambles. I am ready to serve, never to falter again. Things won't be the same as they once were, I am aware of that - the Steward Council is aware. But I'll be damned if I won't bring back order to this place.
She swallows drily and raises her gaze, staring at nothing in particular. She nods slowly, aware that she may have spoken out of turn. She speaks out in a calm tone.
My apologies, High Councilor ... do you still have need of me here or shall I return to my duties?

Vessaria stood as Tybresa began to speak, her arms folded neatly in front of her as she patiently listened to the female's response. It was strung to the highest tunes, the most apologetic flowing forth with humility and conviction. It was clear to her that the Steward was most disappointed in herself and the High Councilor didn't feel much like agreeing with that sentiment. Nevertheless, she did not break eye contact with the bright-eyed Summoner. Though she did interrupt Tybresa at one point. "On the bring of war? Not quite. But we do have many urgent issues that must be addressed. To go so far as to say war is imminent," she shook her head, "No."
When Tybresa then ducked her head, her voice once more filled with regret, Vessaria felt her brow rise just a tad. Though she appreciated such words, she believed only in action did one prove themselves. Steps into action, however, was a good start. A thin smile graced her lips, though they do not drop even a whisper as Tybresa seemed to contemplate herself into silence. It was only when she looked up did she speak, and Vessaria inclined her head curtly. "There is no need to apologize. As I previously mentioned, your situation was understandable though that does not lessen the consequences. Return to your duties. I will call for you if I require your aid."
She had a feeling that the time would come fairly soon.

Tybresa nodded and placed her hands on the surface of the table as she rose up from her seat. She placed her hand on her choker and bowed respectfully in front of the High Councilor.
Thank you, High Councilor. Forever serving, never faltering.
She quickly turned towards the door, the gold-trimmed folds of her robe trailing behind her in her haste.

Hildebrand was silent as Vessaria spoke with the other woman. It was none of his business to poke his nose into the happenings of others. He waited until the pair had finished their conversation before he stood. He straightened his robes and blinked once before turning his gaze to the High Councilor, folding his arms behind his back.
"I am ready to leave as soon as the preparations are made." He would not keep the League waiting, and the people of Freljord would be spared from the foolishness of the Void. "If there is nothing else to discuss, Madame Councilor, then I will take my leave." Hildebrand would stand and bow in respect to the woman, before moving to leave the meeting room. However, before he left completely, he paused.
"One more thing, High Councilor..." His voice was calm and cold, deadly efficient. It was the tone of a practiced mage already weighing his options. Vessaria did not have to see the man's face to know it showed no emotion other than his normal intense gaze. "As this threatens the stability of our peace...I am assuming I am allowed to rescind the normal limits placed on our magical abilities by League Statues, in the interest of seeing this brought to a swift, and orderly, end." The Senior Summoner would turn his head to catch Vessaria out of the corner of his eye.
"Am I correct?" The question hung in the air as the summoner awaited the reply of his superior.

Vessaria rubbed her temples slowly as Tybresa retired from the room, a shallow sigh urging itself forth from her lips. But there was still much to be done, and Hildebrand's voice reminded her of it. "Nothing that comes to mind," she responded, inclining her head once again at the bow. She turned back to the table, reaching for the papers to straighten their forms against the wooden surface. When Hildebrand's presence remained, she felt her brow arch briefly as she glanced up. The tone was, as always, impassive. Befitting for the Ice Mage, she mused to herself, but Vessaria allowed the sentence to flow without interruption. Once he was done, however, the air was almost heavy in thought. It was a prospect she had considered, certainly, but having Hildebrand bring the topic to light was a different matter all together.
"An interesting assumption." She said finally, her gaze etching caution on the male's back. While she could feel his frosty gaze upon her, she was no less afraid to allow extra seconds to linger within the chamber. Her arms folded once more across her chest, "It would be prudent of me to state that I trust your judgment on this, Senior Summoner Runeblood. But I am also sure you are very well aware that the Institute must tread carefully," her eyes seemed to spark a sense of warning, though she gave no voice to her concerns. "Use your abilities as you see fit but it is much preferred that you contain it unless absolutely necessary."

Hildebrand's gaze lingered for a moment, as if feeling the words and gathering their hidden meanings. After a few seconds, he nodded once, and replied. "Understood, High Councilor. An excess will be avoided, of course." His head turned to face the exit. "I will not leave Freljord until it has been cleansed of the Void Invasion. The peace will be maintained." He finished and left the meeting hall. He would see this threat to Runeterra's stability put down, and more, he would defend his father's homeland from the corruption of the Void.

With a hurried step and a forehead gleaming with sweat, summoner Draconis entered the meeting hall. He gazed left and right, spraying some drops of sweat off his beard, cursing the insufferably long hallways of the institute as he did.
By the heavens - I'm not late, am I? The elder quickly eyed his pocket watch. Oh, yes. I'm most likely late. With a worried look, the artificer spoke to Kolmynie. ... I haven't missed anything important... have I?

Vessaria pursed her lips as the sound of footsteps neared the room. She had a good feeling as to who it was. When a man possibly as old as time itself burst in, she found herself holding back a neat sigh. A shuffle of her papers as she watched Nulla glance at his pocketwatch, muttering to himself. She stood as she was addressed, a polite smile gracing her countenance. "Yes, you are," but it was far from stern. It was more of a simple fact, almost as if she was commenting on the color of one's shirt. She turned to her reports, straightening them out before picking them up gently. She was done here.
"I'm sure you've heard of the invasion, hence your presence here." Vessaria began, slowly sliding her chair into the table neatly. Her nails clicked on the back of the wooden chair soothingly, "I have already assigned Senior Summoner Runeblood to lead our assistance to Freljord." She then brought her eyes onto Nulla, a smile echoing in her faint amusement. "I believe he has already begun to leave. If you leave now, you can't miss it."

The summoner wiped the sweat from his forehead and sighed once more. More hallways then. Excellent. Just what I needed. He placed his hands on his back and bent it backwards, making loud cracking noises, before turning around and following after Runeblood's steps. One day, I'm going to find whoever designed this place, and then I'll... His voice slowly turned into angry mumbling, unaiduble to human ears.
