Location: Private Organizations Office and Registry Date: Mid April, 23 CE
The very small office of the Private Organizations Office and Registry (P.O.O.R.) was just another of the many, many small but vital divisions in the Institute of War's efforts to more effectively service the denizens of Valoran. It was a small office indeed, having only a pair of desks while having to work on several reams of paperwork stored away in an adjacent file room. The office adjoined the greater Reception Hall, where guests of the Institute waited before they could be entertained by the various functions of the League.
It is here that many smaller and medium scale mercenary groups and other private organizations with multi-state interests, who wished to be officially recognized internationally may register... however small they may be. All that was required was an Organization's charter and a list of their membership.
The many recent troubles in Valoran had strained the available summoner and non-summoner staff, and Nicholas's versatile assistant Zero had been volunteered for clerical duties to allow the two-man office a chance to rest. The golem blazed through the paperwork, organizing, filing and writing at inhuman speeds with her two arms. Nicholas though, was looking over the file of a single group- the Preservers- with interest, given the goals within their Charter. As soon as he discovered the organization some time ago he sent a letter of inquiry to their leader, one Tekun Valos, to come by the Institute for the possibility of recruiting them as a private military contractor group, not exactly knowing what's happened to them in Frejlord.

The Immortal Soldier had been summoned to the Institute regarding something about being properly affiliated with the League. They'd always been on uneasy terms and he wondered why of all times they would bother negotiating? More importantly it now fell upon him as leader of the group to do it. There was no point in crying about what couldn't be helped.
Nicholas would hear a knock upon his office door at about the time he'd have expected him to arrive. The man had dressed up for the meeting, wearing something resembling an officers uniform. He waited quietly, patiently.

"Oh, he's here." The summoner stood up and allowed Tekun entry. Zero paused in her current paperworks to prepare some coffee, starting with grinding the beans with her own hand transformed into a grinding tool and boiling some water on an office stove.
He opens the door and gestures for Tekun to seat in a guest chair.
"Ahem, uh... well... welcome to the Institute mister Valos." Nicholas sat behind the office desk. He looked at Zero as she set up the coffee siphon that would give off a fragrant smell.
"Well uh... then... hello. How are things with your group, mister Valos? Fighting the void sounds like... a tall order." He asked, the first thing he wanted to know about the Preservers' current state. Zero hands Tekun the cup and saucer of finely made coffee, her cold, mechanical glowing blue eyes looking at the man. She was a startling figure, though wearing the robes of the Institute she was clearly different.

Tekun took a seat with a very unamused and cross look upon his face as he starred at Nicolas. "Is that supposed to be some kind of joke or did you just happen to get recently assigned to this post?" Already they were starting this off about as well as he had expected.
"I lost almost 3/4ths of my men due to an invasion on our home base in the South around the time Freljord struck. Yes, it is a tall order." How could they not know, the Institute kept tabs on them and they knew full well about most of their affairs. He hoped it was the latter or ignorance on their part, not an insult to injury.
"What was it the Institute needed from me? I can't say things have really been good."

Nicholas's eyes fell downwards, not having updated himself properly on the organizations affairs well enough. It was at that point Zero stopped her paperwork and exchanged silent glances.
"I...Um..." He stammered, looking for an explanation.
"Condolences to your men, then ...Things have been hectic here at the Institute actually... in addition to the Frejlord invasion, we had to intervene in Demacia when the Shadow Isles invaded there... so... these are... trying times for the Institute... the people who staffed this office previously had to resign because of family issues." Nicholas spoke in that calm, apologetic tone, bereft of his noble family name's strength but filled with an empathy that found use in other dialogues.
He fell silent, waiting to see if the explanation sufficed. "Actually mister Valos... I've actually contacted you for um... personal reasons. I believe I can direct you to someone who can offer a solution to your deficiency in manpower, if you're willing to look into it."
Nicholas handed the Preservers' files to his construct-assistant, and Zero began her efficient work in processing the backlog of information in the Institute's archives. The Invasion of Demacia, occuring right after Frejlord, had covered the preceding invasion's information after all. Things were being set in order then and there. He turns back to Tekun.
"The Borderland Guard of Demacia took a serious blow to its officer corps, and are currently lacking in seasoned field leaders... Demacia has no shortage of boots, but without its officers it is a much less effective force. I believe it would be of mutual benefit to your organization to speak with the Baroness who commands the Guard in the Rivershire Duchy in Demacia, Lady Hildeguarde Von Ravencroft."

((I suck. You deserve so much better from me Necro))
Condolences went so far but the explanation seemed reasonable. He figured they had their hands full with Demacia as well. Personal reasons however? He listened closely as his expression softened, he never broke eye contact.
"Hildeguarde Von Ravencroft." He repeated the name. "...Sounds familiar. I think I'll give it a look. We would have been in Demacia however we could not afford to spread our forces that far. We were still in the midst of resettling and recuperating. So far things have gone over well enough but I would love to aid Demacia in getting back upon its feet."
Tekun didn't particularly like Demacia due to a few run ins with the law there. He tended to bend and break it too much when the occasion called for it. He never really did it intentionally, there were just people he'd had some bad runs there that held grudges.
"What's the catch though? You said this was personal?"
